Politics / Four Nigerians Jailed In The UK After Forging More Than 2,000 Marriage Documents by Chukdobz20: 5:27am On Aug 28
Abraham Alade Olarotimi Onifade, 41, Abayomi Aderinsoye Shodipo, 38, Nosimot Mojisola Gbadamosi, 31, and Adekunle Kabir, 54, were all sentenced at Woolwich Crown Court in London on Tuesday.

The Home Office said the four were part of an organised criminal group that made fraudulent EU Settlement Scheme applications for Nigerian nationals.

They carried out the enterprise between March 2019 and May last year, and were also found to have provided false Nigerian Customary Marriage Certificates and other fraudulent documentation to help applicants remain in the country.

An investigation from the Home Office in the UK and Lagos found more than 2,000 false marriage documents were facilitated by the group, who themselves were Nigerian.

Home Office chief immigration officer Paul Moran said: "This group was absolutely prolific in their desire to abuse our borders and have rightly been brought to justice.

"As with many gangs we encounter, their sole priority was financial gain. I am delighted that my team was able to intercept their operation, and I hope these convictions will serve as a warning to unscrupulous gangs who exploit people's desperation to remain in the UK.

"We will continue to work tirelessly to secure our borders and clamp down on the gangs who prey on vulnerable people to make money."

Onifade, from Gravesend in Kent, and Shodipo, from Manchester, were both found guilty of conspiracy to facilitate illegal entry into the UK and conspiracy to provide articles used in fraud. They were jailed for six years and five years respectively.

Gbadamosi, from Bolton, was convicted of obtaining leave to remain by deception and fraud by false representation and sentenced to six years.

Kabir, from London, was found guilty of possession of an identity document with improper intention but was cleared of obtaining leave to remain by deception. He was jailed for nine months.

Education / Re: UK University Offers To Fund Flights Home For Nigerian Students Ordered To Leave by Chukdobz20: 12:43am On Jun 13
StOla:
It is time the Nigerian government places a 10year embargo on the siphoning of Nigerian earned funds to sustain academic infrastructures in UK, US, Canada, and any other country Nigerians are going to for education tourism.

Only a foolish country allow people to ship off funds earned in that economy to benefit another economy, without paying any tax to the economy where the funds was earned.

They will sell property in Nigeria and pocket all the money to go donate to another economy, yet no tax is paid on the sale of that property to the economy where the wealth was acquired.

Imagine all the best income earners in Nigeria spending the bulk of their Nigerian earnings on the undergraduate education of their children or their own postgraduate education abroad, after the heavily subsidized undergraduate education that Nigeria provided them to secure those jobs in Nigeria that funded their ambition to wear winter jackets in Europe and North America?

Any country that does not understand the intricacies of economic national security, will keep wondering why its economy continue to flounder.

Even the countries receiving Nigerian funds know how to prioritize their own national economic security, and make policy changes from time to time to ensure that the academic tourists remain only a source of net foreign remittance into their own economy instead of a net subtractive parasite.

I will say it again, the prevailing time is not one to allow your best income earners take funds out of the Nigerian economy without as much as a 50kobo tax on their destructive drain of our national wealth.

Anyone that wants to go abroad for education should find a way to get a job in that country and raise the funds from the income earned in that country.

CBN should with immediate effect prohibit any transfers from a Nigerian account to any foreign academic institution for a period of 10years, while the government should simultaneously raise the school fees to something tangible that you save for years ahead, instead of the rubbish fees that is not up to the pocket money the students spend in a month.

Or is UK or Canada or US tuition fees for local student the kind of amount that local student will spend on buying burgers in a month?

So why are Nigerian universities charging money for 1month shawarma as annual tuition fees?

Charge well, pay lecturers well, and still have enough to upgrade and maintain the education infrastructure in Nigeria.

Goddammit!

All you said made sense but then you forget we don't really have leaders or political class who are patriotic. Our politicians and leaders all have foreign passports and their children do not reside in Nigeria. How do you expect then to think in this direction when the same law do not apply to them.

what would you like to know?

Thanks for correcting my typo.

I have non IT degree

I have a couple of vendor certifications

I have over all close to 6 years IT work experience from technical support/service desk, network security , network Operations, network administration.

If you apply for assessment via recognition of prior learning. What are my chances of being successful.

I researched the procedure but will be difficult to get the approved format for verifying employment. I have employment letters, payslips, termination letters. But i saw ACS have a format which must be used to verify employment.

I am just confused πŸ˜•

FrontEnd + PHP + [MY]SQL is no where enough to regard yourself as fullStack developer.

Even myself wey be Database + Server administrator, ontop being a programmer speaking over 3 serious languages, have never for once called myself any of such funny names

Woow so who is a full stack developer.

In my knowledge, if you know front end and back end, it's called full stack developer..

Think about this, black africans need to double their effort to overcome mental slavery.

Think about this, blacks in general seek approval from other race to quantify their self worth.

Right there in europe accross the english channel nobody cares about the english language, the french speak french, the italians speak italian, etc.

Recently the president of ukraine in an interview, said i have a lot power, instead of i have a lot of strength., was he belittled on the education front, no.

Think about this, if someone is born and raised in the states and speaks and writes english the mother tonge flawlessly, does it mean the person is well schooled.

Now, let us define the purpose of school.
one attends school to be taught skills and obtain competence in that skill by acquiring the specialised knowledge.

Unfortunately, black africans attend school to learn how to master the english language, no wonder africa contributes to less than 2 percent of global gdp and world trade.

Interestingly, for the advanced west, those who poineered their economic industrial transformation were self taught and not schooled.
The wright brothers, microsoft, oracle, apple, dell, etc.

What if she schooled in a different language.
Hope i quased your simplistic view of that narrative.

Shut up bro. English is your official language. It's imperative to know it. Only an illiterate will not know how to read and write in English. Reason why it's taught in school from nursery school.

I don't think it is well.
Just look at how they painted Nigeria.
I hope the leadership of Nigeria see this and take steps to re-project a cleaner global image.
If nothing is done, Nigerians will be barred even from entering Ghana in the nearest future.

Nope you cannot clean the bad reputation of Nigeria. We should start from good governance with fair economy before the global world will regard us as a nation. The global world know very well we are a failed country.
