Romance / Re: Is It Advisable To Keep Your Ex-lover As Friend? by chumas(m): 5:50am On Nov 11, 2006
I don't see anything wrong with having your ex as a friend. However if ur current partner is uncomfortable with it then I suggest you keep them at arms length. I will not advice u to have anyone as ur enemy, u never know who might help u some day. I once missed a connecting flight in Maryland and had to rely on my ex. She picked me from BWI (airport) and took me back to board my flight in the morning. U never know where u might need some one. If u however have some strong feelings for that person and u know it, then please DO NOT GO THERE!!!
Career / Re: Should I Return To Nigeria To Work? by chumas(m): 5:46am On Nov 05, 2006
@Old Shame. You are right my brother, it makes no difference if Constantin is in LASU or LSE. The advice that has been given to this topic is very good for the Nigerians over here in the UK that really wants to go back home. Also for those in Nigeria, please if u do not have any real business here, I will advise you to stay back home. THERE IS NOTHING HERE. Work hard in Nigeria and you will lead a better life. It is hard to believe but it is TRUE.
Career / Re: Should I Return To Nigeria To Work? by chumas(m): 5:59am On Nov 04, 2006
I don't know why we even bother to keep writing on this topic. It is obvious that this Constantin guy is a big FOOL!!! I don't know why he has just decided to make an a** of himself.

CONSTANTIN, I DARE YOU TO GIVE ME YOUR CELL PHONE NUMBER. OR RATHER RESPOND AND I WILL PERSONALLY MEET YOU AT ANY CONVENIENT LOCATION AT THE LSE CAMPUS.

Crime / Re: Why Are More And More Nigerian Youths And Even Older Ones Getting Into Fraud by chumas(m): 4:23am On Nov 01, 2006
My sister, we have to change the society we live in. The problem we have is from the foundation. We have to do something about our leaders. U might not get where I am coming from just yet, but leadership in Nigeria is a cause for concern. When we get it right, we then have to create job opportunities for the young and old alike. There is nothing out there to motivate these people in Nigeria.

Using the internet cafe's have provided some of these young people with a source of income. Immoral and deceptive it may be (I DO NOT SUPPORT IT) but it is putting food on their table. Now our leaders have to restructure our economy first. Tackling these guys in those cafe's will bring them out on the streets and that will present another problem for us, if u know what I mean.

What are our youths looking forward to? NOTHING. We are heading to wards a failed state/economy. If we do not do something soon, fraud and armed robbery will be the least of our worries in time to come!!!

@Radiant/Ikamefa. My sisters I hope I am wrong o! As this might be very embarrassing not just for this guy but for all the others that just wake up and post stupid jokes on this forum. I am sure the management team on this site will take necessary action to stop people from making an ass of themselves. We should all read between the lines when we read peoples posts. I have seen quite a number of "ambitious" people but I have been ignoring them until now.

I will sincerely apologize to him if I am wrong. So let's watch this space for now.
Career / Re: Should I Return To Nigeria To Work? by chumas(m): 6:07am On Oct 29, 2006
@Constantin. My brother please stop wasting peoples time. It's people like u that make me want to stop using this beautiful forum.

I have read your post and was not convinced that u study in LSE or even live in the UK. You may be sitting somewhere and having a swell time while we think of sound/reasonable advice for you (we are not stupid so do not play on this thread).

LSE does not offer the course you just mentioned but please correct me if I am wrong and I will apologize. I will even put u on two way phone and we will call them together. Please respond and I will give u my phone number so we could try finding your phantom course. STOP THE BULLSHIT!!!
Music/Radio / Re: Dan Foster Is Leaving Cool FM? by chumas(m): 4:48am On Oct 14, 2006
He is pretty good. I have heard him on the radio the few times I visited our wonderful country. However, there are so many talents out there. If he leaves, someone else will take over and you will probably forget Dan Foster ever existed. That is the way of life.
Business / Re: Transcorp And President Obasanjo by chumas(m): 4:33am On Oct 14, 2006
Our leaders are all corrupt. They should all be tied to a stake and burnt alive. I have much greater respect for a 419 person who steals from outside the country and invests in Nigeria than a public servant who steals from his own people. The country's wealth belongs to the people, our leaders should invest in the common man and eradicate hunger, homelessness, poor medical facility, lack of education etc. Every citizen of the country should benefit from the resources. We have greedy leaders who steal our money and hide in foreign accounts and yet we are getting ready to vote for them again. We should all be ashamed of OURSELVES.
Literature / Re: Do Nigerians Read? by chumas(m): 4:10am On Oct 08, 2006
@ Radiant "Do I put you in the same category as him or you have eye problem"

My sister, English is not our language. Stop insulting your fellow Nigerian because of his poor understanding or use of the language. Based on the above sentence (yours actually) you have to appreciate the fact that YOU have the same problem too.

The last part of that sentence would have been "or do you have an eye problem?"

Please don't let me start on you, You won't like me very much!!!
Literature / Re: Do Nigerians Read? by chumas(m): 4:56am On Oct 07, 2006
Yes Nigerians do read. People always assume that we do not read but that is not true. You have to realize that most people will not encourage you to do what u want to do out of envy or jealousy. Please write a book if u want to. I remember the time I had a discussion with some people in Houston some years ago about establishing a fast food business in Naija. They all screamed that it was not feasible as "Nigerian culture and attitude" is based on the mothers cooking for their kids/husbands. Look at the fast food industry now in Nigeria!!!
Romance / Re: Would You Break Up With A Boyfriend Who Smokes Marijuana? by chumas(m): 4:27am On Oct 03, 2006
@all the ladies here!!! I have been around and it makes me wonder what all the hype is. A lot of girls smoke weed and do all sorts of things. Why are u all treating this as a male issue? Fair enough the question was directed to the ladies as to what they will do if their boyfriend was smoking pot. However, the way it's been handled here makes it seem like a male issue and girls are so INNOCENT, Haba!! You all will be shocked to know the highly placed and powerful leaders in the world today that smoke this stuff. ALCOHOL kills more people in the world than weed that does not even account for anything. Cigarettes are WORSE but we do not attach such stigma to those things. If a mad man smokes weed we attach it to his mental state, "hey igbo don craze this one oo!!" Meanwhile the poor man has a mental disability that our doctors and his family has neglected for years and coupled with depression and the state of the economy, why won't the poor guy go mad?

The stigma attached to this weed stuff is the governments inability to place proper taxation on the stuff. Alcohol is taxed properly by the government, there is a much greater control and that is why it has not been banned. The government makes billions of dollars from cigarettes and alcohol through taxation. Weed cannot be taxed properly and the system does not like anything it does not benefit from.
Romance / Re: Would You Break Up With A Boyfriend Who Smokes Marijuana? by chumas(m): 4:14am On Oct 03, 2006
@Twinkledew, I did not compare that with molestation. Please read and assimilate before u open your mouth.
Romance / Re: Would You Break Up With A Boyfriend Who Smokes Marijuana? by chumas(m): 5:08am On Oct 02, 2006
@windywendy, I was not going to join this topic until I read your "silly" comments. I do not smoke or drink alcohol but I tell you that research finds that weed does not constitute any health hazard. It will not kill any one for sure and will not cause cancer. Please the internet is free for u to read up on findings by known physicians. Weed therefore is no more an illegal substance in so many countries. Only the bureaucrats who still SMOKE the stuff but are so PRETENTIOUS are the ones opposing the stuff.

As for the main area of discussion, my brother if the girl no wan gell wit u because of weed, abeg forget am jare!!! Girls plenty out there for real. She will finally meet a man that will molest her and her kids, I bet that's the one she will prefer.
TV/Movies / Re: Emeka Enyiocha: Number One Nollywood Action Hero by chumas(m): 11:51pm On Sep 27, 2006
Omo & Snazzydawn. The guy is just trying to be real. So many Hollywood films have men and women crying with their noses running. I have seen a lot of these movies and the oyinbo people in them cry well well with nose and spit and they even blow the nose there on the screen. Even some kissing scenes have spit stretching out between them when they unlock lips. U won't tell me u have not seen that one. I 4 once agree with Raymand, u girls need to watch Charlize Theron's movie. They have that in Hollywood for crying out loud!!! If na Denzel or Will Smith cry like that u girls will be like "ooh he's so cute even when he's crying".
TV/Movies / Re: Emeka Enyiocha: Number One Nollywood Action Hero by chumas(m): 2:35pm On Sep 27, 2006
U guys are crazy!!! Any Hollywood director will go crazy for an actor who can portray such character. That was an amazing scene. We do not appreciate what we have that is our problem. I bet any one of u to catch their spouse cheating and u will probably even lick Ur "nose drip" witout even realizing it. These actors play real life events and they are supposed to show the real thing.
TV/Movies / Re: Emeka Enyiocha: Number One Nollywood Action Hero by chumas(m): 11:15pm On Sep 26, 2006
Raymand, No dey act like say u self like armpit hairs. If u think is not good for the chest on the ladies, why do u think it's good for the armpit . I just think it is nasty and unhygienic. There was a lot of controversy on the Julia Roberts case and a lot of publicity about it just because no one believed she could be so careless as not to have shaved. She even admitted later through her agents that the public was not meant to see her like that. Damage control came out in full force. U now make it sound like though she won the Oscar because of the hair. When it comes to movies and showbiz, I know my onions, puleeaassse!!
Family / Re: I Called My Step-Aunt 'Ashawoo' By Mistake by chumas(m): 4:24am On Sep 26, 2006
You guys are funny. All of a sudden we are talking about love in the air. We have forgotten about Nico and his wonderfully scripted 419 post. He just grabbed us all by the balls and we fell like a pack of cards. Anyway the love angle is a good distraction.

Omo & Radiant, u guys no dey sleep? It's 04:30 UK time. Well it depends on your location. Never mind, u guys have fun. You are all wonderful!!!
TV/Movies / Re: Emeka Enyiocha: Number One Nollywood Action Hero by chumas(m): 3:42am On Sep 24, 2006
So girls in Naija movies have chest hairs and we call them sexy? That is disgusting!!! I once saw a girl in one Naija movie she had armpit hairs, I thought it was a fluke and I had to rewind it again and truly, what do u know!!! As for the Emeka guy, I think we should start appreciating our actors more. That Emeka guy looks better than most black hollywood actors and we dey trip for them because they are in Yankee. The guy looks good, we should stop hating!!!

Hey!! I am not hating at all believe me. I am not just sure how to follow this topic. I think the guy is OK but not gorgeous. I am much older than him and I think I look better and I do not even consider myself as handsome.

I do not have a picture on file here but that can be arranged!!!

Business / Re: Woolworths Lagos Closed Down: Any Idea Why? by chumas(m): 6:13am On Sep 17, 2006
I am glad that Constantin has apologized to gigitte. So let me start by answering one of the questions put foward by constantin.

We find it difficult to bring franchises over to Nigeria simply because of our ineadequate infrastructures. Electricity is a major concern to these foreign investors and they will keep telling you that untill they are blue in the face. They wonder how they could cover costs based on running generators 75% of the time. It is possible to get round that but you have to convince them. I have been through that and it has not been easy. The road network is in shambles, safety is an issue also when they have to supply you with almost 90% of the material you need. Our insurance companies do not cover such business ventures and they just string you along. If you go with the insurance companies over here, they charge you so much based on the safety issues in Nigeria.

We have to secure our Police Authorities, infrastructure etc before we can project to what we really want to achieve. We are trying to walk before crawling and that is why we take a step foward and 20 steps backwards. We need to get the foundation right my people. With a lousy foundation, any house we build will collapse. We need to stop the hunger in the society, pay the Police their salaries so that they will stop financing the armed robbers!!

PLEASE GIGITTE AND CO. LET US START FROM THIS THREAD TO ACCESS WAYS TO HELP BUILD THE NATION FROM THE FOUNDATION. WE HAVE A LOT OF WORK TO DO, HOW DO WE START? Our leaders are all theives and we know that they know nothing at all except for a few of them. How do we grow?

Business / Re: Woolworths Lagos Closed Down: Any Idea Why? by chumas(m): 5:31am On Sep 16, 2006
@constantin,

You are lucky I only come on line early in the morning before I get ready for work. You would have been hearing more from me. Gigitte is a very smart girl and if you do not recognize that, then I am really sorry for you. You showed us pictures of shopping malls and tall buildings, was that to impress us? The Western world are now trying to be environmentally friendly and Gigitte asked you about Global warming issues. I have not seen any reply from you.

Tall buildings do not impress me. I am a British born Nigerian and I have seen it all. We do not have to go that route to be advanced. Our problem is within ourselves, we need to empower the right people to achieve all the goood things that are there for us. We have the natural resources but we lack governance. We need people to think Nigeria first before we can progress. We do not want to embrace the foreing culture because that is not who we are. Nigeria is struggling now because the system of government that was imposed on us was by the British who did not really care about our well beign. We should progress in our direction and not copying others!!!

We are building new malls in Nigeria and that is a fact but we will not achieve a great success if we do not embrace our traditional values and make them visible within the big walls of those malls. We should not be thinking Oyinbo Oyinbo all the time because they do not think about you over here. We certainly do not want unhealthy fast food shops in Naija. We do not want the health hazards associated with that as we can not handle it yet. You should be ashamed of those pictures you pasted on this site, you just wasted good space for important discussion.

Business / Re: Woolworths Lagos Closed Down: Any Idea Why? by chumas(m): 5:11am On Sep 15, 2006
@gigitte,

My sister u have the wisdom of a much older person. This is exactly how I want Nigerians to talk and think. I have enjoyed your contribution so much that I am forced to write something here.

With the Woolworths situation, If they do not want to embrace Nigerian designers talents then good riddance to bad rubbish. They do not even sell quality clothes in their UK shops and most good labels do not even identify with them. We have designers that can compete with the best of them but our people are stuck with this foreign concept sh*t that it amazes me as to how shallow we really are. Those foriegn designers do not want to recognize us, why should we patronize them? We should try and be Nigerians.

The market does not bother me at all, there is the Brixton market just like any other Naija market. We should just clean it up a little bit that's all. The big malls coming in should not replace our traditional markets, this is who we are!!! We should just improve the layout of the markets.

American Tobacco people are now in Nigeria peddling their filth to our people just because the Western countries have banned any form of tobacco commercial and even smoking in public areas. Cigarettes are bad for our health but our stupid government are allowing these people to bring this poison to us. Over here in the UK the anti-smoking campaign has driven them out of business.

Religion / Re: Dress Code In Church by chumas(m): 4:25am On Sep 14, 2006
Hello everyone!! I do not really see anything wrong in what people wear to church. However, it is only right that you read the Bible first then dress up and go to church. If you think the Bible accepts what you just put on having finished reading it, then so be it. The Lord will judge you accordingly, so it is not for us to tell them what to wear. It's like reading/studying for an exam. If you have economics tomorrow, it is proper you refresh your memory with your lecture notes and text books, abi? Then in the morning you will still have those same materials with you until the examiners tell you to drop it outside and get seated, Good. So you see if we can prepare ourselves for a minor thing like exams, why can't we prepare ourselves for the biggest occassion like standing in the presence of God.

We all know how to dress in front of people we want to impress or get favours from so that is why we dress accordingly for job interviews. We prepare our speech with respect to what it is we are looking to achieve from delivering that speech. So please leave those girls alone, they know what they are doing. They WILL BE JUDGED accordingly, even the one that claims she worships with her stinking bra hanging out.
