Rev. Dr. Musa Asake, General Secretary, Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), on Friday stated that leaders of the Jama’atu Nasril Islam (JNI), were behind herdsmen killings across the country.

Asake said this in reaction to JNI’s allegation that Christian leaders promote violence in Nigeria.

President Muhammadu Buhari on Wednesday, approved the appointment of Edward Lametek Adamu, a Christian from Gombe State, North Eastern Nigeria, as the new Deputy Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN).

The President approved his appointment after facing growing criticisms over his partial political appointments which mostly favoured Muslims against Christians and ignited an agelong debate and division between Christians and Muslims in Africa’s most populous country.

Edward replaces Mr. Suleiman Barau who retired in December.

A court has sentenced a former pastor of the Muscoy Unified Methodist Chuch in San Bernardino (USA), who was convicted in October of 32 of counts of sexual abuse, to 308 years to life in prison on Wednesday.
Stephen James Howard, 58, of Fontana, was convicted on 20 counts of lewd acts upon a child, six counts of oral copulation of a person under 16 years old and six counts of sodomy of a person under 18, a district attorney’s news release said. He is currently being housed at the West Valley Detention Center in Rancho Cucamonga, jail records showed.
“Thanks to the hard work of our prosecutor and the Family Violence Unit support staff we were able to remove this child predator from our community and put him behind bars where he belongs for the rest of his life,” District Attorney Mike Ramos said in a statement.

A mother of two has filed a lawsuit against former Church for Life, alleging sexual battery, assault and harassment stemming from a slew of incidents, including teaching young women how to masturbate and orgasm in preparation for their husbands in pre-marriage classes.

Robert Litzinger, explains the Santa Maria Times, stepped down from the helm of the California church in June 2016 after complaints were made to church personnel about opinions he allegedly shared on viewing pornography in one of his pre-marital classes.

The lawsuit filed by a Jane Doe in her 30s alleges that Litzinger’s wife, Cindy, knowingly co-conspired in the misconduct from 2014-16. Shortly after Litzinger stepped down, the mother learned that she was not the only victim of the unwanted advances and more than a dozen women had similar stories to share.

Doe charged in the lawsuit that Litzinger exploited his position as lead pastor to “cultivate an atmosphere within Church for Life, through which he could satisfy his sexual fetishes.”

In pre-marital classes, she alleged that the pastor would try and “prepare the young women for their husbands and their wedding night,” advising the women on how to masturbate, have an orgasm and explore their bodies, in order to be “prepared and willing to do whatever their husbands wanted.”

He would also share photos with Doe of himself and Cindy, covered in bed, with a note saying “just had a great session” and urged her to be similarly open with him about her sex life. He reportedly badgered her until she complied with his request.

A Catholic priest has revealed that Ireland urgently needs more exorcists to tackle an ‘exponential’ rise in demand for help with demon possession.

Fr Pat Collins, a leading exorcist, is calling for backup after receiving an ‘inordinate number’ of calls and emails asking for his servces. He is ‘baffled’ Church leaders are not doing more and accused them of being ‘out of touch with reality’ if they do not see the need for more priests to drive out demons.

‘It’s only in recent years that the demand has risen exponentially,’ Fr Collins told the Irish told the Irish Catholic. ‘What I’m finding out desperately, is people who in their own minds believe – rightly or wrongly – that they’re afflicted by an evil spirit.’

When an auxiliary bishop in the Archdiocese of Boston asked the nearly 200 students in a high school confirmation class what questions they had for him earlier this month, two themes quickly emerged. First, they wrote him, why did you want to become a bishop? Second, why does the church hate gay people?

The first one was easy, Bishop Mark O’Connell told them, since very few priests set out to become bishops.

But the second question, which he said comes up frequently when he meets with young people, was more difficult for him to answer, not because church teaching is unclear to him, but because the language the church often uses fails to resonate with a generation that increasingly sees kindness as the highest virtue. A dog named Rambo lived up to his “action hero” name, when his barking alerted sleeping religious sisters that a chapel next to their convent was on fire.

In the early morning hours of Jan. 20, a fire destroyed the Virgen de la Candelaria Chapel in the town of Calafquen, Chile, next to the home of the Carmelite Missionary Sisters. Police suspect the fire was caused by arson.

Father Alejandro Gutiérrez is the pastor of San Sebastián Parish, which includes the chapel. The priest told Radio Bio Bio that the sisters’ house “is attached to the church. A much greater tragedy could have happened there. If the dog’s barking hadn’t alerted them, the fire would have spread to the convent and we would be grieving over a much more serious incident.”

In a stranger-than-fiction twist, a Catholic priest who viciously attacked a female Yabatech student with stone has officially apologized to his victim.

Pictured here is a lady simply identified as Comfort, the 23-year-old Yaba College of Technology student was recently attacked by the unidentified catholic priest in Lagos.

He reportedly smashed her head with a rock and proceeded to bite her.

Sophia Lawrence’s mother sat quietly in the front row of her small church and listened in silence with other congregants as her daughter testified how she was raped at just 8 years old. When her daughter told the church who her abuser was, however, Lawrence’s mother exploded from her seat and threatened her child with death from God and the “blood of Jesus.”

“The devil! My God! God will kill you for that!” Lawrence’s mother screamed with a thick Jamaican accent.
