Chino don't get me wrong i'm from Anambra State but cant remember having visited those Riverine areas of the state where this airport is located in the past. It's rather deep inside and people wouldl still prefer Asaba airport which is situated along the ever busy Asaba Benin Expressway.
I don't know how to make you to comprehend. Anambra International Cargo Airport is centralised that it will make both economic and geographical sense for somebody in Onitsha to land in Anambra airport within 20min and somebody in Awka will get their in 30min while the traveler from Nnewi will arrive in about 40-50min max. Again due to the vibrancy of the Anambra Airport which will be used by the up coming Orient Pet. Refinery it will be a beehive of activities and integration which will attract both foreign nationals and otherwise. This is the whole essence of economic development. Ka o mesia
PoliticsRe: Onitsha River Port Ready By October by chy101: 4:25pm On Oct 06, 2011
Your lies are from the pit hell. Anambra airport is an International Cargo and Passenger airport as licenced by the FG, while that of asaba- delta is a much more a local airport. As an estate surveyor/valuer by profession, Anambra people are presently investing in Awka the state capital and New Anamcity (http://anamcity.com/) not heavily water-logged asaba. I have been to asaba the place is hugely messed up with flooded pot-hole roads due to the terrain.

hugooh42:
@Chino,From the vanguard newspaper report you attched here ,its says that the Anambra airport is a cargo airport nothing more than that.On the other hand don't forget that Asaba international Airport was innitially built to cater for passengers but was latter upgraded to take care of cargo too.So most of the importers in Onitsha will definetely use it and that guaranttees revenue for the Deltans which will in turn be used for other developmental purposes.
Go to Asaba now you see that  Anambra people have bought up all the land there and erecting structures.I recently tried to get one near the Airport but alas almost all the area have already been sold out. While some are building warehouses others are building hotels to serve the airport. And of course many other businesses are going to spring up once the airport becomes  fully functional.

Peter Obi is not only building roads, he is equally building economic capacity: from from Sabmiller of South Africa to Power Plant to LG electronics facility in Awka to enabling environment which is presently encouraging foreign direct investment presently in Anambra state. Anambra is fasting emerging as the economic hub of not only the SE/SS but of Nigeria at large.
