LOL that's a rat aka ekute toilet... It's a common house rat! Stop justifying dirty food abeg... If you want to eat your rat, eat your rat, nobody is stopping you..
Na una way for Lagos nah. Every Rodent, including Squirrels, is a house or bush rat.

Go and read about Pouched rat. It's very eatable and is not even considered as a rat in many literatures

There are different species of rat, and Pouched rat and Cane rat(Grasscutter) fall into the group, but are not really rats.

Gutter rat, you mean? undecided
Which gutter rat?
It's called called "African or Gambian Pouched rat", and it's different from the common rat most of you know of, and it's eatable

Interesting thread

Came from an average family with simple lifestyle.

Started working as early as when I was in JSS2. Dad told me it's important for me to start earning my own money so that I won't become a liability to anyone. Apart from the early work, I have only worked for just 3 months and ever since, been my own boss

That actually worked as I left house very early just to find my own path in life. I was gone for a year plus without any of my family having a clue whether I was alive or dead. Dad just told mum to stop worrying herself. Luckily for me, when I eventually came back home, it was brief just to tell them I would be travelling abroad..

The journey wasn't that easy most especially when there are no big bros around to mentor. Had to learn almost everything on my own.

So far so good, Alhamdullilahi
You've just told us you were an Almajiri.
Congrats on your eventual survival from that pit of hell!

Some doubters will claim it is nothing. Let me buttress this point; Witchcraft metamohpses to wall gecko to bewitch people at night,
I have been fighting this battle lately to a new place I packed new. Infact last 2days while I was praying one fel untop of my body and disappear. The next morning I noticed a mark on my kid's body.

Evil people work with it, it is not a fallacy. What u dnt know is bigger than u. If ur not too spiritual, get crude oil or mmanu ojukwu, it scares evil people away
Stop this stupidity, please!
There's nothing connecting the Geckos and the phantom witchcraft you claim to be fighting against.
To you superstitious folks, every little thing that happens to you is witchcraft or juju from your enemies, neighbours, friends, colleagues, classmates or village people.
And the people who fall into this category are usually the poor ones who nobody would ordinarily waste his time and resources trying to kill or bewitch.
Why would any normal person want to kill or bewitch a poor man??
For what gain exactly??
You will hardly see any well to do person talking about how his enemies are bewitching him or trying to jazz him.
It's always the poor, wretched folks who even have nothing to offer to their bereaved family members, let alone outsiders, when they die
Rubbish mindset.

You're paying too much attentions to dreams, and this can be a big distraction.
Dreams are nothing spiritual; they're just some of the activities of our brains when we sleep.
The brains, just like the hearts, don't get shut down during sleep. They keep working.
Most times, what we call dreams are reflections of our past experiences(tactile, visual, auditory), imaginations, fears, wishes and subconscious thoughts.
At other times, they are completely unfamiliar experiences pieced together by our brains.

The part where you saw someone peeping through your window looks like it's Sleep Paralysis.

Do you know that the blind do not see even in their dreams? If there's anything spiritual about dreams, they would be seeing in their dresms and would be able to describe what they see to others for confirmation.

I don't think anyone dreams more than i do, but i don't give a damn about the dreams, even when i dreamed of myself dying in one of them some years ago.
I have also dreamed of losing my father in one of those useless dreams about 15yrs ago, but the man is still kicking till today @83yrs.
There's no kind of dream i have never dreamed, including flying and disappearing.
So, rest, bros and face your life once you wake up. Don't give attention to any yeye interpretation

What Dressing Naked And Hell Fire Have In Common

Dressing naked is hot, Hell fire is also hot, so they are both hot.

Moreover dressing hot to seduce, will definitely land you inside the burning hot fire of hell, if you don't repent.

Therefore whenever you think of dressing hot to seduce, also remember that burning hot is hell fire too.

So you don't end up hot forever in the hot Hell fire.

God bless.
What evidence do you have to prove that there are heaven and hell fire, bros?

You don't seem to understand where I'm coming from, the thread by the Op was intentional just to mock Igbo's on nairaland that our brother was killed and buried in Maidugari serving the Nigerian Army.
I only tried to down play it, as in decent societies the military don't have tribe and their tribe should be patriotism to the nation and soldiers die everywhere around the world, doing the obvious. simple!
Thank God you mentioned "...decent societies...."
Nigeria is not one of those decent societies and tribalism is high in the military, just as it's high in all other institutions within the country.
If you are really Igbo, you won't need to be told about this

CrimeRe: Lady Found Dead In Ogun With Mutilated Private Parts by ChybuzzDD(m): 7:20am On May 11, 2025
SheikhMuniru:
A yet-to-be-identified lady was found dead and dumped in a drainage along OGTV Road in Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital, with her private parts mutilated.

PUNCH Metro learnt on Thursday from a source in the area, who did not want to be mentioned in print because of the nature of the incident, that residents woke up on Tuesday to the gory sight and alerted the police.
The source disclosed that details of how she was dropped there could not be ascertained, but upon closer examination, they realised that her private part had been cut off.
The source said, “A lady was found lifeless on Tuesday in a gutter along OGTV Road, Abeokuta. She was suspected to have been used for a ritual; her private part was missing.
“The police came around and took her body to the State Hospital Morgue in Ijaiye.”
When contacted for a reaction on Thursday, the Ogun State Police Public Relations Officer, Omolola Odutola, promised to get back to our correspondent, but she had yet to do so as of the time of filing this report.
Meanwhile, a senior security officer in the area who was privy to the incident told our correspondent that the deceased was a commercial sex worker.

Any society like ours that believes in juju and ascribe so much powers it doesn't have to it, including that of making people rich, will always experience this ugly practice of money rituals and the unnecessary waste of human lives that go with it.

If you're one of those who believe there's power in juju, and still think that the other person who shares the same belief as you won't try to exploit his to seek for wealth, then you're just being unreasonable.

Both of you are the problem!

There's no juju power anywhere in this world, and no money can be made through ritual sacrifices.
The earlier we accept this, the better for us, and the more lives we'll save.

I know it will make headlines because he is Igbo,May his soul rest in perfect peace!
Many others have gone and buried in different parts of the country and the world.
It is a pact he signed, being a soldier takes audacity and sometimes it seems like you prepare yourself for the uncertainties ahead.
I just hope he will get the needful and his family may not have to regret the decision of their son to join the army.
Doesn't this sound so stupid to you??
Why wouldn't it make headlines when the average igbo personnel are not found fit to head the organization but are found fit to die for the country?

Again, if it were a Yoruba or Fulani soldier that died in the Southeast, wouldn't it make headlines from now till 10yrs time??

Just 2 days ago, i came across where the Army Facebook page was reposting pictures of the couple that were found dead in the SE over 2yrs ago after being abducted, and were cursing and blaming IPOB for it, even when they have direct evidence.
Meanwhile, this same Army doesn't remind us of the thousands, if not millions, of the military men that have died in the north in the hands of Boko haram and ''Bandits''; only the 2 that fell in the SE matter to them.

Let's not even talk about the atrocities they commit in the region on daily basis.
The bias both the Nigeria Army and the country itself show to the Igbos shouldn't in any way encourage any Igbo son/daughter to die for the institution and country.

Love800:
Nigerians rich-men seems to ignore their health and chop all kinds of junks, high salty foods and too much cholesterol condiments.
The average lower class man who is intentional with his health, eats healthy groceries and stuffs.
Seems the reverse is the case here. Poverty mentality has affected majority of citizens whereby once they attain wealth, they start eating things they weren't consuming before, including the unhealthy ones!
Is so obvious that Nigeria is the poverty capital of the world!
Lack of nutritional awareness/education is a general problem in Nigeria that affects all the social classes, and it's not limited to just the rich/upper class.

It's a place where people see abdominal obesity as a mark of wealth/''chopping life''.

I think one of the root causes is our deep-rooted cultural & religious beliefs, which have made people believe that the responsibility to preserve life/health rests in the hands of God/Deity/Ancestors, and as a result, they live their lives the way it pleases them.
