I flew American Airlines from Portland to Detroit (about 7 hrs +) at 34 weeks + 3 days. I didn't have any fit to fly on me. Nobody asked for it though. I even had a 55 mins lay over in Phoenix yet no one asked for my fit to fly. I checked the airline's policy on pregnant passengers before flying though.

@Favouredgal ok I will do that! So I should carry 2 fit to fly or just one that will cover d both local flights? Tnx dear

Beautiful mothers in d house

Please someone should help out. Does anyone have info on an hospital in Michigan or san Jose California that is affordable.

Please I need ur help oo
@ Yuddiepro, I'm an October mom and I plan to give birth in Michigan. So far, I've contacted 2 hospitals there.

1. U may look up Oakwood Annapolis Hospital on Google or try oakwood.org. I contacted d financial counselor who said d hospital fees for vaginal (self-pay) is $4,500. You may also want to look up the ob/gyns that r affiliated to the hospital. I saw a Nigerian on the list. I'm yet to contact any of the doctors.

2. Also check Garden City Hospital on www.gch.org. They have their discounted price list for uninsured, self-pay patients on their website. Vaginal delivery is $3,950. It covers mother and baby (whatever that means) but it excludes physicians fees. I called to see if I could haggle further but was told that the prices on the site were the final.

I've contacted 2 of their doctors. D 1st one said he would collect $3,000 (additional $250 for pediatrician and circumcision).
D 2nd one said he would collect $2000 and that his bill covers both circumcision and pediatrician's fees.

I was also told that my gestational age @ the point of registration would not affect the fees.
I hope this helps. Kindly keep me posted on any better deal in Michigan. Thanks

Hello. Pls has anyone fly Emirates frm abuja to seattle. Stop over is like 21hrs in dubai. what was ur experience like? Did u get a hotel accommodation frm d airline? Pls share cos I'll be leaving in 2 weeks time.
Also if anyone has used Seattle as a POE, What was ur experience.
Thnk u
Hi, I flew Emirates from Lagos to Seattle in May. Stop over in Dubai wasn't up to 3 hours. I understand that u r entitled to an accommodation and meal tickets once u spend more than 7hrs in Dubai. Ensure u call them at about 48 hrs before ur flight time to reserve the accommodation for you. About Seattle POE, it was very smooth for me (I wasn't showing then) besides, I'm not sure we were not up to 3 Nigerians on that flight. Just remain calm, confident and cheerful. All the best

Has anyone used Denver or Seattle as their poe, please share your experience.
Thanks
I used Seattle POE 2 weeks ago. Was just 16 weeks gone so there was no cause for interrogation. I didn't sight any pregnant woman on the queue. Guess I was d only Nigerian there as I used Emirates. Told him I'm on vacation and the amount I had on me. Visa is to expire 1st week of June but I was stamped in to stay till November. I declared d food I had but wasn't searched. It was quite smooth I'd say. I might consider the better health-care and have my baby here. Yet to get an affordable package in Portland though.

Hello house. Pls what sim card is most suitable for making calls back home? i hear one still needs a call card. which is best and most affordable please? one has to do a lot of maths with the current exchange rate oooo grin. thanks in advance
I use Lycamobile. The $59 per month bundle. It allows you unlimited call time to the first 5 Nigerian mobile numbers you dial; gives you 3 MB data; leaves u with $5 credit for other international numbers u may want to call and of course the unlimited calls to all US numbers. I hope the info helps.
