most times it does. But sometimes it's somehow hidden. I once formatted a laptop after which the recovery partition became visible.

Thank y'all for replying. it seems restoring to factory settings is the way forward, but as deji2009, how would i know if the recovery partition has been deleted or it's still there.

Right click on my computer, click on manage and select disk management in the window that appears. You should see the different partitions present on your computer. The recovery partition will be indicated if it is still present.

User recovery partiton would have been deleted when it was upgraded from basic to ultimate

That depends on how the upgrade was done. I've done upgrades for people without losing the recovery partition.

I have a hp tablet tx 1000. I had vista on one partition before i installed xp on a new partition i carefully created using shrink volume on vista. Xp was installed successfully but i dont see the option for choosin between the two partition before bootin. It boots directly to xp

whenever you want to use a multi boot system, that is to run two operating systems on a single computer, you should install the older version of windows before the new one. In your case, xp before vista. Installing it otherwise will result in what happened to you. I don't know anyway of making the option for selecting windows to reappear though. I've made such mistake before and i had to learn the hard way.

i hosted the php file with a free web host and when i put the url of the file in the address bar, the appropriate message is displayed but when i put it in iwp, it doesn't browse. It just keeps loading without opening any page. What could be the cause of that?
