Politics / Re: PDP Won’t Accept ‘fake Results’ In 2019 – Secondus by ci69: 12:52pm On Nov 30, 2018
agwom:
The National Chairman of the PDP, Prince Uche Secondus, has said the party will not accept any result of the 2019 general elections that is “fake.”

Prince Secondus also, for the third time, demanded the resignation of the Chairman of INEC, Prof. Mahmood Yakubu, and the Inspector General of Police (IGP), Ibrahim Idris, saying they had demonstrated that they could not be neutral in the electioneering process.

Speaking at the opening session of the 83rd National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting of the PDP yesterday in Abuja, Secondus said there would be crisis in the land if the elections were rigged by the ruling APC in connivance with INEC officials.

Secondus said the PDP had the best presidential candidate for the elections and would resist any attempt to be rigged out.

“We want to give this warning because we want peace in our nation. We are not going to make noise; but if anyone or the APC rigs the elections, there will be crisis in the country and we will not accept the result of the rigged elections.

“The APC has the federal might, but we have God and the people on our side. We have the best candidate in the country and he is ready to debate with Buhari.

“The consequences of rigging the 2019 general elections will be terrible; so well-meaning Nigerians and the international community should prevail on INEC to conduct free, fair and transparent elections,” Secondus said.

He advised all party leaders to return to their various constituencies and campaign vigorously for the PDP to win, saying the party had a campaign structure to ensure that power was devolved to the grassroots where the voters would cast their votes.

Secondus said the President Buhari-led administration lacked the wherewithal to manage the affairs of the nation, adding that the PDP was upping its game to reclaim power through democratic means.

The presidential candidate of the PDP, Atiku Abubakar, and his running mate, Peter Obi, Governors Ifeanyi Okowa (Delta) Ahmed Abdulfattah (Kwara), Dave Umahi (Ebonyi), Senate President, Bukola Saraki, Deputy Senate President, Ike Ekweremadu, former governors of Benue and Niger, Gabriel Suswam and Babangida Aliyu respectively, were among many party leaders at the meeting.

Politics / Re: Timi Frank Raises Alarm Over Plot To Kill Fayose In EFCC Custody (DETAILS) by ci69: 11:21am On Oct 17, 2018

@POLITICSNGR

Below is a statement from the Former deputy National Publicity Secretary of the ruling All Progressives Congress, Timi Frank on the detention of Ayodele Fayose by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC;

The immediate past Deputy National Publicity Secretary of All Progressives Congress (APC) Comrade Timi Frank, has strongly condemned the continued detention of immediate past Governor of Ekiti state, Ayodele Fayose, by the Economic and Financial Crime Commission (EFCC), warning that no harm must happen to the former governor.

Frank said the alarm is necessary because of the information available to him that the agency has been instructed ‘by the powers that be’ to either poison or render the outspoken politician (Fayose) incapacitated ahead of the 2019 general elections.

In a statement released on Wednesday in Abuja, Frank wondered why somebody who voluntary released himself to the agency should be kept in custody more than 24 hours.

The former APC spokesman said that in as much as he will never support corruption, justice must be done to all and sundry.

Frank revealed that Fayose is being held by the EFCC not because of any currupt act but because of his outspokenness against the administration of President Muhammadu Buhari and the APC.

He wondered “why former Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Engr. Babachir Lawal was not detain over allegation of grasscutting scandal, why EFCC refuse to invite the wife of the President Aisha Buhari over recent allegation involving his ADC, why MTN scandal involving Chief of Staff to the President is not investigated, why NNPC scandal involving the GMD Kanti Baru and why allegation of corruption against the National Chairman of APC, Adams Oshiomohle does not interest the agency, among so many others in the ruling party.

“The truth is that once you are not a member of APC, you are corrupt but once you join the evil party, your sins are forgiven,” he state.

On the plan to render Fayose incapacitated, Frank said: “A Senior staff of the agency last night had to call attention of some opposition leaders to the instruction given to the agency by the presidency to ensure that Fayose does not leave EFCC custody a healthy person.

“Another operative early this morning also informed us that a healthy Fayose who walked into headquarters of EFCC yesterday was seen vomiting this morning. I called on Nigerians to pray for Fayose because the evil plan of APC government against the PDP leader is not known yet.”

Frank, who urge the former governor not to eat or drink anything coming from the operative of EFCC, also called the attention of the international community to what he described as a selective manner in which President Buhari is fighting corruption in Nigeria.

Saraki Named DG, Atiku’s Presidential Campaign

Adedayo Akinwale in Abuja

Senate President Bukola Saraki has been named the director-general of campaign of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar.

The appointment, which had been subject of media speculation for days, was confirmed to THISDAY this morning by the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Mr. Kola Ologbondiyan, who said zonal coordinators had also been named after long hours of meetings by the PDP hierarchy.

The coordinators according to him are, governors Aminu Tambuwal (Sokoto, North-west), Ibrahim Dankwambo (Gombe, North-east), Samuel Ortom (Benue, North-central), Nyesom Wike (Rivers, South-south) and Dave Umahi (Ebonyi, South-east). Former Ekiti State governor, Mr. Ayo Fayose, would coordinate the South-west.

Ologbondiyan said Akwa Ibom State Governor, Mr. Emmanuel Udom, was appointed Chairman of Fund Raising Committee, while former presidential aspirant, Alhaji Taminu Turaki, would head the legal committee.

Others campaign officials, he said, would be announced in due course.

Meanwhile, the party formally set the machinery in motion for the reconciliation of all aspirants that contested its presidential ticket in Port-Harcourt penultimate weekend in an attempt to rally them behind the party’s presidential candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar.

Although the primary was seen to be transparent and without rancour, the party still felt it should not take chances and asked its reconciliation committee headed Bayelsa State Governor, Mr. Seriake Dickson, to talk to the former aspirants and clear all possible grey areas.

The reconciliation moves started yesterday with a visit to Sokoto State Governor, Alhaji Waziri Tambuwal, and former governor of Kaduna State, Senator Ahmed Makarfi, in Abuja. With Dickson were Delta and Taraba States governors, Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa and Mr. Darius Ishaku.

Speaking after the meeting, Tambuwal accused President Muhammadu Buhari of maladministration, saying that the way the country was being run by proxy was unacceptable and won’t be allowed to continue after May 29, 2019.

Tambuwal assured the party and Nigerians that he was committed to the success and victory of the party at the general elections in February, 2019.

He stated, “We have had a robust and fruitful engagement on the way forward. And I have made my commitment immediately after the convention that I am going to support our candidate, Waziri Adamawa, Atiku Abubakar, 100 percent for us to have victory at the general election.

“So, I am not wavering, I am not looking back. Work has started for us to ensure that the PDP family remains united and other lovers of democracy come and partner with us for us to ensure that we convincingly win this election. It is not about my personal ambition.

“It is about this country. And all of the issues we have discussed, canvassed and traversed for during our encounter with delegates and party leaders, have remained there.”

He said the misgovernance of Nigeria under the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) had to stop.

“We want a situation whereby the President of Nigeria will be hands on on issues of good governance, respect for the rule of law and the way this country is governed. So, I have given my commitment and I mean it, I am out for it. By the grace of God, we shall support Atiku Abubakar and PDP to win elections throughout Nigeria”, he said.

The Bayelsa State governor commended the former presidential aspirants for displaying maturity and spirit of sportsmanship after the Port Harcourt Convention, which was won by former Vice President Atiku Abubakar.

Dickson who is the Chairman of the Committee said that the party had commenced series of consultative talks with all the aspirants and leaders of the party in the bid to retake political power from the APC in 2019.

According to him, “I am leading a team of the committee of governors to interact and compare notes with our brother, His Excellency Governor Aminu Tambuwal of Sokoto State. As you all know, he ran a great race and we are all proud of what he did and what he continues to do. We appreciate his statesmanship; we appreciate the way and manner he has been of help to the party consolidating the gains the party is making.

“This afternoon, as part of our decision to go round, visit, encourage and interact with all our party leaders especially all those who indicated interest in the last presidential elections, we have held a fruitful meeting.

“We are actually starting from here and would be leaving from here to visit our former national caretaker chairman and also hold similar consultative meetings with him.”

On his part, the former caretaker chairman of the PDP, Senator Ahmed Makarfi urged Atiku to include all the former presidential aspirants so that they could galvanise support for him.

He said while the aspirants went into the election as aspirants, they emerged collectively as a party.

He said he had long years of national and political relationship with Atiku, which had not changed, stressing that the PDP would be victorious in the 2019 elections

CastedDude:
Peoples Democratic Party 2019 Presidential candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar held a close door meeting with the former Governor of Anambra State, Mr Peter Obi.

It's expected that the former Vice president of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Atiku will announce the economist and banker, Peter Obi his running mate in no short a time.

Mr Obi arrived at Mr Abubakar’s residence in Asokoro neighborhood around 3:00 p.m., and both have been holding undisclosed talks.

The former Anambra governor is widely speculated as a top candidate for Mr Abubakar to pick as running mate.

The former vice president on Sunday became the presidential candidate of PDP, Nigeria’s main opposition.

Several options have been suggested in the public domain, with the candidate being widely expected to choose from either the Igbo-dominated Southeast or a Yoruba choice in the Southwest part of the country.
