A yet-to-be-identified middle-aged man suspected to be a suicide bomber blew himself up opposite the campus 2 of Amaizu/Amangbala primary school in Afikpo LGA of Ebonyi state today May 25.

A resident of the area said the incident happened close to the Eke Market in Afikpo which happens to be the biggest market in the area. According to the resident, the suspected bomber was earlier seen wandering the area, adding that the suspect  “first came into a beer parlour and when the people inquired who he was, he left.”

He was said to have moved to the school side and when the gateman asked him to go back, he made effort to remove his clothes when the explosive went off. The resident said some people reconvened at the scene of the incident few minutes after only to discover the suspected suicide bomber laying dead in the pull of his own blood.

The state police command nor the state government is yet to react to this development.

Pandemonium in Imo as unknown gunmen storm street, shooting sporadically into the air (videos)

Residents of Orji community in Owerri North LG of Imo State ran for their lives on Tuesday afternoon, May 25, after unknown gunmen stormed the streets, shooting sporadically into the air.

The gunmen who came in their numbers, walked freely on the streets as they fired gunshots into the air.

Imo state has witnessed several attacks by these unknown gunmen in recent times.

A video making rounds online has shown moment a man caught a Prophet sleeping with his wife.

Narrating how he caught them in the act, the man said his wife had told him she was going for a vigil, but he traced her to her location after he got information that she had been cheating.

The man who noted that he gives his wife all the “styles” she wants, insisted that they must remain in same position till people gather.

The man added that he goes out every morning to hustle for the family yet she chose to repay him by cheating on him.

Former Minister of Aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode has reacted to Minister of Defence Bashir Magashi's gaffe at the burial ceremony of Chief of Army Staff, Ibrahim Attahiru and other military officers on Saturday May 22.

According to FFK, Magashi offered a "heartless felt condolence" to the families of the late military officers at the ceremony. FFK described it as a "freudian slip".

The former minister who noted that the President was absent at the burial ceremony, also asked how "worse the show will get".

He tweeted;

First our President refuses to attend the COAS' burial even though he was in Abuja. The Minister of Defence was there & instead of talking sense he said he had "come to express" his "HEARTLESS felt condolences". Talking about a Freudian slip!!! How much worse can this show get!

Dele Momodu, the publisher of Ovation International, has questioned why Igbos are being denied presidency and other key positions in Nigeria, including the position of IGP.

In a video shared online, he pointed out that no man will easily accept being treated that way in his own country.

"How can anybody say an Igbo man cannot be president of Nigeria and I'll accept it? Then it shows how brainless I am.

"If I'm the president of Nigeria today, I'd have turned South-East Nigeria into the hub, our own Silicon Valley.

"These are people endowed. They're as brilliant as the Chinese, the Koreans and the Inidans put together.

"We have them, why are we not using them?

"But because there was a civil war before, and we said we have forgiven ourselves, so you've forgiven yourselves but an Igbo man cannot become anything in Nigeria, cannot be President, cannot be trusted to be Inspector General of Police, why?"

He added: "If you don't trust them and they say they want to go, why are you then stopping them?"

He further mentioned that Igbos are doing great things in Nigeria and abroad yet have been denied key positions in Nigerian leadership.

Actor Femi Branch has named the hotel where cameras were found hidden in rooms and he, alongside his co-stars, called for an investigation.

The actor pointed out that people expect privacy in hotels and as a reault, they count money in their hotel rooms and make calls revealing some sensitive information, not knowing they are being filmed.

He called on the Nigerian police to investigate the hotel, adding that if anyone has been robbed after leaving the premises, the hotel should be held responsible.

Comedian Lepacious Bose and actress Bukky Wright also called for the hotel to be investigated.

Three persons killed and many injured as tanker falls and explodes along Kuto-Okemosan road in Ogun (video)

At least three persons have been killed while many others have been injured after a petrol tanker fell on the ever-busy Kuto – Okemosan road in Ogun state on Tuesday morning January 19.

The tanker fell after grazing through a Lexus jeep. At least no fewer than four vehicles were razed in the ensuing inferno.
