Please care to read through this article cause I can assure you its worth your time. Ignore any typo error as am bound to make mistakes thanks. Nigeria is a vast country with over 250 distinct ethnic groups, by October we will clocking 56yrs of our corporate existence as a nation but the fact remains we are not really a nation in the sense that we(citizens) are always are each others neck caused by tribalism, religious bigotry and nepotism and I begin to wonder were we all got it wrong as a nation or could it be that the white men left us too early or maybe the black man is truly cursed as seen in our everyday dealings. I started to pen down this article this morning when I was researching the prospect of furthering my education in Ghana but was enraged when I saw that our dear naira is even no where near the cedi, where 1ghc = #72 and I begins to ponder were we got it wrong as a nation but I couldn't ascertain. If I decide to throw this as an open-ended question, we will start attacking each other with each tribe blaming one another forgetting our problem is not tribal. That we don't have stable electricity, food, good roads, water is not caused by any tribe. Before election we see our politicians cutting ponmo, frying akara, eating corn, drinking #20 satchet Milo, telling us they have no shoes, but after election what do the masses get in return ? Absolutely nothing, they loot our common wealth with impunity and throw crumbs to us while we keep on singing their praise cause maybe they are from our tribe, religion or party. I can go on and on but I don't want to make this article longer than necessary . How can I be a patriotic citizen of Nigeria when Nigeria as an entity have done virtually nothing for me as citizen, no light, no water, bad roads and a very bad economy. After pondering for a while on how to get Nigeria to be the giant of Africa it claimed to be, I concluded that what we might need is PATRIOTIC REVOLUTION ! Yes I mean patriotic revolution drawn from the different tribes of Nigeria were we will all stamp our feet on the ground and say enough is enough and demand our right in this country. Please this thread should not be a tribal bashing thread because our problem is not tribal or religious but our egoist elites feeding off our ignorance. The Igbo's are quick to blame the Yoruba's not knowing that the average Yoruba man in the street if Lagos, Ibadan and osun is not praying for his downfall, Same as the Yoruba's blaming the Igbo's forgetting that the average Igbo man in the street of Onitsha, aba, Enugu is suffering the same fate as him, not praying for his downfall and not his problem. So is revolution what we need right now or are we even lazy to start a revolution ?? |

Standing5:Lol, you can't ban cattle's, what needs to be banned is the nomadic nature of the herdsmen with their cattle's atleast we still eat meat, they should rather embrace private ranching. Or will you feel happy when your eat your mother/wife jollof rice without meat or imagine egusi soup or banga soup without beef ? My dad will tell you to finish it yourself ![]() |
thomasthomas:There are many states that are doing well in terns of agriculture, states like Benue, taraba, nasarawa, Ebonyi, anambra, bauchi, osun and Ogun e.t.c they just need to be empowered by their respective government and watch as we stop complaining of high cost of food. Our overdependence one oil has taken away most of the sense of our politicians, they are only concerned on how to share the oil money. And lastly, about your post, the activities of those murderous herdsmen does not hamper food supply rather it deals negatively with food production cos nobody is producing/planting anything talk more of supplying. Shalom ![]() |
thomasthomas:I use Benue state as an example or you don't read in the news how many states the murderous herdsmen use to attack ? In my family we don't buy bitter leaf or chicken cos we have a farm and poultry that meet our immediate needs so at least I am a bit industrious and once again I am still saying in a country everybody cannot be a farmer. The destruction of farmlands for cow grazing is a major problem. If you go to Benue(using it as example cos I have lived there) many people don't go to farm again cos of fear, just as their governor was complaining last month how they destroy his large rice farm and olu falea also complained of how they killed his farm guard and destroy part of his farm so can't you its a major problem. When I was schooling in Benue state(last three years) the big tubers of yam and potatoes I bought l couldn't finish for a full two semesters cos they are very big and very cheap, now go back to the same Benue state now and see them selling a yam they would have normally sold at #1000 selling for #2500 can you see now that the activities of the murderous herdsmen is a major problem ? |
thomasthomas:Everybody in Nigeria cannot be a farmer or own a farm and secondly there is nothing to politicize here cos you can't tell me the activities of the murderous herdsmen is not affecting our farm produce. Go to Benue state and see how cows destroy peoples farm produce and you are here talking about industrious, how can you tell someone to be industrious when the few that are industrious are being killed on a daily basis ? You can't compare our last year farm production to thus year can you ? So now think about it and tell me the cause of the scarcity in a space of less than one year. Thanks |
First tell our President to caution his brothers( herdsmen) that are destroying the small we are planting. Thanks |

See as Obama condemned the attack within hours but come to Nigeria, more than hundred people died in agatu the president kept mute as if agatu is not in Nigeria and after weeks have the audacity to say they are Libyans. Everyday people die and sometimes many people are massacred but the government will turn a blind eye to it ![]() Tired of this country |
On a serious note someone might lost his way on this road(s).
