Friday, April 12, the US raised its nuclear alert status to DEFCON 3, Condition Yellow (out of 5 levels), stating “There are currently no imminent nuclear threats against the United States at this time, however the situation is considered fluid and can change rapidly.” Many believe that North Korea will launch their test missile on or about April 15. Japan has instructed its armed forces to shoot down any North Korean missile that heads toward its territory. Contrary to comments from the White House Thursday, the Pentagon reported that “North Korea probably has nuclear weapons that can be mounted on ballistic missiles.” This is a very significant admission by the United States and a dangerous change to the Korean situation. China has mobilized its military and is massing near the border with North Korea. This step was taken after North Korea placed a mid-range Musudan missile ready to launch on its east coast and its “dedication of more facilities at the Yongbon complex to nuclear weapons work.” According to some sources in Washington, the Chinese military mobilization is not directed at deterring Pyongyang but as support for North Korea’s steps. Late Thursday, Representative Doug Lamborn, a Colorado Republican, made a disquieting disclosure. He quoted an excerpt from a Defense Intelligence Agency report expressing “moderate confidence” in the finding that North Korea has nuclear weapons capable of delivery by ballistic missiles whose “reliability will be low.” |

Secretary of State John Kerry touched down in Korea this morning just hours after a Pentagon agency has concluded for the first time that the secretive country could have a likely ability to launch a nuclear-armed missile at its enemies. The details were leased in Pentagon Defense Intelligence Agency documents from last month that were mistakenly marked as unclassified. The papers detailed that they have ‘moderate confidence’ that Pyongyang is able to launch ballistic missiles armed with nuclear weapons. U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry, who was in London for the G8 Summit, touched down at the Seoul military airport in Seongnam Friday as part of a spearheaded effort to shift power toward Asia and away from Europe and the Middle East. He says the device is the size of a laptop and uses a complex set of algorithms which took him ten years to develop, but has not revealed any concrete details about his invention. Unlike the time-travelling DeLorean in hit film Back To The Future, Mr Razeghi said his device 'will not take you into the future, it will bring the future to you.' 'As such, we expect to market this invention among states as well as individuals once we reach a mass production stage.' Mr Razeghi, who claims he has 179 inventions listed under his name, has been criticised by friends and family for 'trying to play God.' But he said: 'This project is not against our religious values at all. 'The Americans are trying to make this invention by spending millions of dollars on it where I have already achieved it by a fraction of the cost,' he said, without divulging how much. He said Iran was not planning to launch the prototype just yet in case 'the Chinese will steal the idea and produce it in millions overnight'. |

Ali Razeghi says his device can produce a print-out detailing any individual's life between five and eight years in advance after taking readings from the touch of a user. He claims the Iranian government, whose nuclear programme has caused concern around the world, can use his invention to predict military conflicts and forecast the fluctuations in the value of foreign currencies and oil. Hey Carmen, please tell me where you think inflation will come from? 120m Americans out of work, 48m on food stamps, 1.2T student loan debt, 11T mort debt, I can go on and on. Good luck with inflation when nobody has any money, velocity of money is zero and we have 80T in derivatives non net to dig us further into the theft of any future GDP earnings, so no inflation is not a threat, nor will it ever be in the near future, we have lived off of leverage and stolen so far into the future that there is no longer any near term GDP to steal from, thats why QE will be indefinite and inflation will be negative, Japan was the beginning of how excess gets purged and the entire globe will be under this weight for a long long time. I am not sure why we nobody can see how Japan is and was the pattern that we are all going to have to follow. The only way out is truly global war and destruction to reset the system, that is how it was, how it will always be and it is just a matter of time now |

These “signatures” apparently include such suspicious behavior as taking part in a funeral procession or first responding to an initial drone strike. Last year, the United Nation’s special rapporteur on human rights and counter-terrorism, Ben Emmerson, said it’s believed that, “since President Obama took office, at least 50 civilians were killed in follow-up strikes when they had gone to help victims and more than 20 civilians have also been attacked in deliberate strikes on funerals and mourners.” The US has previously refused to admit that it operates such a policy. Some of the assassinations, such as that of, Mohammad, the younger brother of the leader of the Haqqani network, Badruddin, appear to have been simply errors, with the victims branded as terrorists only after the fact. All this seems to go against the assurance of John Brennan, the former White House counterterrorism chief, and new CIA head, who is the mastermind behind the drone policy “We only authorize a particular operation against a specific individual if we have a high degree of confidence that the individual being targeted is indeed the terrorist we are pursuing,” Brennan explained a year ago. |
Leaked report: Nearly half of US drone strikes in Pakistan not against al-Qaeda A trove of leaked classified reports has confirmed what many had suspected – US drone kills in Pakistan are not the precision strikes against top-level al-Qaeda terrorists they are portrayed as by the Obama administration. Instead, many of the attacks are aimed at suspected low-level tribal militants, who may pose no direct danger to the United States – and for many there appears to be little evidence to justify the assassinations. Top secret documents obtained by McClatchy newspapers in the US show the locations, identities and numbers of those attacked and killed in Pakistan in 2006-8 and 2010-11, as well as explanations for why the targets were picked. The statistics illustrate the breadth of the US ‘drone doctrine’ – which has never been defined by consecutive US administrations. Between 1,990 and 3,308 people are reported to have been killed in the drone strikes in Pakistan since 2004, the vast majority of them during the Obama terms. In the 12-month period up to 2011, 43 out of 95 drone strikes in the reports (which give an account of the vast majority of US operations in the country) were not aimed at al-Qaeda at all. And 265 out of 482 people killed in those assassinations, were defined internally as “extremists”. Indeed, only six of the men killed – less than two percent – were senior al-Qaeda leaders. |
“The few who understand the system will either be so interested in its profits or be so dependent upon its favours that there will be no opposition from that class, while on the other hand, the great body of people, mentally incapable of comprehending the tremendous advantage that capital derives from the system, will bear its burdens without complaint, and perhaps without even suspecting that the system is inimical to their interests.” —The Rothschild brothers of London |

http://app.debka.com/p/article/22887/US-S-Korea-on-top-alert-as-North-missile-spotted-in-launch-position In one television segment aired by North Korean state TV Wednesday, hundreds of North Korean soldiers were shown standing in their positions and then, upon catching sight of the president and party, rushing toward him in great excitement, although they didn’t dare get too close. Such staged scenes, say the sources, point up the North Korean president’s weakness and uncertainty rather than his control and popularity in the army. Those sources predict that Kim Jong-Un may feel compelled to assert himself by ordering a missile launch. Backing down at this point, a failed launch or a foreign interception would be a black mark against him and seriously undermine a leadership which is rooted in a ruthless personality cult. It might even lead to his ouster. The Korean crisis heads the agenda of the G8 foreign ministers meeting in London Thursday. |
The United States and South Korean armed forces went on the highest level of alert - Watchcon 2 - Thursday, April 11, ready for multiple launches after at least one North Korean ballistic Musudan missile was sighted fueled and ready to launch at any moment on the country’s eastern coast. With an estimated range of more 3,400 kilometers, it places US bases in Guam and the Okinawa islands within range as well as South Korea and Japan. According to a senior US defense official in Washington, the floating SBX X-band radar is in position for tracking missiles fired by Pyongyang. South Korean officials, commenting on the apparent movement of several ballistic missiles on North Korea’s east coast, report that this is an apparent attempt to confuse intelligence monitoring by the US, Japan and South Korea. The US and Japan, which earlier deployed Patriot interceptors in Tokyo, have said that any missile would be intercepted if it showed signs of heading for the United States or Japan. But neither mentioned a US military target or the possibility of a missile flying over Japan to land in the Pacific Ocean. Military sources in Washington point to the US Defense Secretary Chuck Hagel’s warning Wednesday that North Korea is “skating very close to a dangerous line” with its bellicose rhetoric on nuclear arms, and his stress on America’s ability to protect itself and its allies, as the most serious statement to come from the Obama administration so far. It was the first warning of a US military response to a North Korean missile launch. South Koreans are for the first time showing signs of anxiety about a possible outbreak of war. People have started stocking food and parents were telling reporters Thursday that children are being kept home from school in case of a sudden war emergency. |
Once he got into the system, he was able to manipulate the steering of a Boeing jet in autopilot mode, saying he could also change the plane's course, crash it, make oxygen masks fall out and etc. "You can use this system to modify approximately everything related to the navigation of the plane. That includes a lot of nasty things," the hacker told Forbes. Another problem, which Teso pointed out during his presentation, is that lots of aircraft computers run outdated software, which doesn’t meet modern safety requirements. |
http://rt.com/news/teso-plane-hijack-android-716/ There’s now another reason to be aerophobic after a German hacker demonstrated how to remotely hijack and bring down an airplane using an app for the Android phone. The presentation called ‘Aircraft Hacking: Practical Aero Series' by Hugo Teso has become the highlight of the Hack In The Box security conference in Amsterdam on April 10-11, terrifying most of those, who attended it. Teso, who currently works as a security consultant at the German n.runs IT-company, has used his experience of being a commercial pilot to create the software, which grants him full control of a passenger aircraft. It took the researcher three years to come up with the PlaneSploit app for Android based on his SIMON code, which proved that – despite the tightened security in airports and on-board – air carriers are completely defenceless when it comes cyber-attacks. |

http://app.debka.com/p/article/22885/North-Korea-to-fire-ballistic-missile-to-Pacific-Iran-unveils-new-uranium-processing-facilities Korean tensions again shot up Tuesday, April 9, with Pyongyang’s warning of a ballistic missile firing Wednesday, April 10 toward the Pacific and advice to foreigners in the South to evacuate: “We do not wish harm on foreigners in the South should there be a war,” said the statement. Last week, foreign embassies were informed that North Korea would not guarantee the safety of their staffs after April 10. Japan has deployed Patriot missile interceptors around its defense ministry headquarters in Tokyo and other key facilities including Okinawa, in the wake of North Korea’s move last week of two intermediate- missiles to its eastern coast, placing Japan, South Korea and the US bases at Guam within range. In Tehran, meanwhile, President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad unveiled Tuesday two additional uranium-processing facilities at Ardakan in the central province of Yazd. This was announced with the official disclosure by Iranian state TV of uranium mines operating in the town of Saghand, 120 kilometers from Ardakan, which are reported to have an estimated output of 60 tons of yellowcake for use in the uranium enrichment process. In case this show of defiance was lost on the West, Tehran is now threatening to follow in the footsteps of its North Korean partner and withdraw from the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty in the wake of the failure of the latest negotiations between the Islamic regime and world powers (April 5-6) in Kazakhstan. |
Former miners in Easington, Co Durham, will mark the 20 years since their pit closed with a party on the day of her funeral. Alan Cummings, chairman of the Durham Miners' Association, said the timing of the events was "remarkable" and "one of those quirks", adding: "She couldn't be cremated on a better day." He added: "We are inviting ex-miners and their families to go back over their memories of the strike and what has happened since the closure of the pit. I couldn't stand her. She had a very patronising manner and I could have put my foot through the television whenever I saw her on there. "We opposed and hated everything she did. She has wrecked thousands and thousands of lives so, no, it's not in poor taste. We can understand why people are happy and rejoicing that she has gone because they remember these communities have never recovered." |
http://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/politics/disunited-in-mourning-police-fear-thatcher-funeral-may-turn-into-security-nightmare-8566452.html Police officers are monitoring social media, internet forums and BlackBerry messaging networks in the expectation that Margaret Thatcher's funeral procession next Wednesday will be targeted by protesters. The possibility of demonstrations during the funeral has raised concerns that police may adopt the controversial tactic of making pre-emptive arrests. Plans appear to be under way for different groups to demonstrate during the funeral, and to hold celebrations around the country on the same day. Police concerns have been fuelled by the impromptu street parties which broke out on Monday evening in Leeds, Bristol, Brixton, Liverpool and Glasgow – some of which resulted in arrests after clashes with officers. Police and security-service planning for Baroness Thatcher's funeral has been under way for three and a half years. Officers will probably be required to line the route from the Houses of Parliament to St Paul's Cathedral to make sure that the cortège is not stopped. |
Also Tuesday, the top U.S. commander in the Pacific called repeated North Korean violations of U.N. Security Council resolutions forbidding the "building and testing" of long-range ballistic missiles and nuclear weapons "a clear and direct threat to U.S. national security and regional peace and stability." "A major conflict in Korea could have unpredictable, long term and far reaching impacts due to the central location of the Korean peninsula in Northeast Asia and the vital importance of Northeast Asian trade to the global economy," said Adm. Samuel J. Locklear, commander of the U.S. Pacific Command. The admiral spoke at a Senate Armed Services hearing and submitted testimony to the committee. |
http://edition.cnn.com/2013/04/09/world/asia/koreas-tensions/index.html?hpt=hp_t1 (CNN) -- The Obama administration calculates it's likely North Korea may test fire mobile ballistic missiles at any time, based on the most recent intelligence showing Pyongyang probably has completed launch preparations, a U.S. official said Tuesday. The administration believes a test launch could happen without North Korea issuing a standard notice to commercial aviation and maritime shipping warning them to stay away from the missile's path, according to the official, who declined to be named because of the sensitivity of the information. He cautioned most of the information comes from satellite imagery, so it's impossible to reach a definitive conclusion because the United States has no means to gather information on the ground. |

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2306161/North-Korea-launch-missile-TODAY-warning-foreigners-evacuate-South-thousands-stage-war-dance-death.html North Korea is preparing to launch a mid-range missile launch today from its east coast, officials in Seoul have claimed – hours after foreigners living in South Korea were warned to leave the country. The chilling forecast came as thousands of North Koreans held a mass waltz yesterday to celebrate the father of madman dictator Kim Jong-un. Women dressed in brightly coloured traditional costume danced with their partners in front of the Monument to the Foundation of the Workers' Party in Pyongyang. Meanwhile the Communist government issued a stark warning about the prospect of war, saying: 'We do not wish harm on foreigners in South Korea should there be a war.' In Brixton, south London – scene of fierce riots in 1981 during Mrs Thatcher’s time as Prime Minister – more than 300 people began gathering on Monday afternoon chanting: ‘Ding dong, the wicked witch is dead.’ Among the crowds was Rahul Patel, 54, an IT worker carrying a banner proclaiming: ‘Rejoice Thatcher is dead’. He said: ‘We are happy to be described as disrespectful. I am being disrespectful and I am glad of that. We are rejoicing, rejoicing her death.’ Emma Jones, 30, a teacher from south-west London, who had made a banner of Lady Thatcher with devil horns and blood dripping from her mouth, said: ‘There is still so much anger against her for so many reasons, which is why we are here today. SEOUL (Reuters) - North Korea warned foreigners in South Korea on Tuesday to quit the country because they were at risk in the event of conflict, the latest threat of war from Pyongyang. Soaring tensions on the peninsula have been fuelled by North Korean anger over the imposition of U.N. sanctions after its last nuclear arms test in February, creating one of the worst crises since the end of the Korean War in 1953 . "We do not wish harm on foreigners in South Korea should there be a war," said the KCNA news agency, citing its Korea Asia-Pacific Peace Committee. Last week Pyongyang advised embassies there to consider pulling out in case of war. Earlier on Tuesday, North Korean laborers failed to turn up for work at a factory complex operated with South Korea, effectively shutting down the last major symbol of cooperation between the hostile neighbors. Few embassies in Seoul have advised their citizens to quit. The United States, which has also been threatened by Pyongyang, has said there were no imminent signs of threats to American citizens. Pyongyang shown no sign of preparing its 1.2 million-strong army for war, indicating the threats could be partly intended for domestic purposes to bolster Kim jong-un, 30, the third in his family to lead the reclusive country. South Korea's president said she was disappointed at North Korea's decision to halt operations at the Kaesong industrial park, which generates $2 billion in trade for the impoverished state. News of the Kaesong closure diverted attention from speculation that the North was about to launch some sort of provocative act this week -- perhaps a missile launch or new nuclear test. However, residents of Seoul carried on with daily activities with no trace of anxiety. |
