Microsoft has made its popular Word, Excel and PowerPoint apps accessible for free on

On Tuesday Twitter started rolling out new group chat and video features as it toiled to
increase use of the one-to-many messaging service.

“Private conversations on Twitter are a great complement to the largely public experience
on the platform,” product director Jinen Kamdar tweeted online.

“The group function lets you start conversations with any of your followers and they don’t
all need to follow one another in order to chat.”

Twitter lets users send direct messages each to others; the new feature multiplies that
capability to permit shared exchanges connecting as many as 20 persons.
The Twitter app for smartphones has also been revised to let users effortlessly capture,
edit and share videos. The new feature permits sharing videos of 30-seconds or less in
length.

Twitter’s app for iPhones will likewise allow users upload video from camera devices, and
that capability will be accessible soon on Android-powered smartphones.

The new features will roll out to all users of Twitter in the coming weeks.
