Atiku seems to be making all the right moves. He needs to tell us how he became stupendously rich. That is his only barrier to becoming president.

I highly respect Sir Victor Uwaifo, but he lost it on this one. There are countless songs with the same title. And I don't think there's any law prohibiting the use song titles.
Besides, Jayson and Simi's joromi are very different from Victor Uwaifo's own. This is a non issue.

Nice tutorials. I would advise newbies to learn Ajax. But don't get fixated on stuff like Ajax. Instead they should focus on learning technologies like reactjs, angular and view. This would set them up for the future.

Politics / Re: President Buhari’s Silent Support For The South-east, By Garba Shehu by clevadani: 6:38pm On Nov 13, 2017
As a supporter of Buhari, no article can change my view of him, only his actions can. He's been a gigantic disappointment so far.
How can the leader of one of the most diverse countries in the world be so blinded by ethnicity? In his mind the only acceptable form of government is NORTHERNOCRACY. Trying to justify gross nepotism is corruption in its purest form. I have simply lost hope in this government.I have lost hope in this crop of leaders.
They've been ruling the country since d 60s when they were in their 20s and 30s and they will still open their stinking mouth to say we are too young to run. What rubbish.
We got independence 2 whole years before Algeria, but look at the two countries today. I've read stories of Nigeria donating oil palm to Malaysia in the 60s. But today they look at us like outcasts.
This has got to stop. If you're not benefiting directly from this government, and you are still supporting them, you need to get your head checked. And those of you behaving like you don't care, I pity you. It is time to stop this apathy and become more involved in politics and speak out more.
Nobody is going to hand over leadership to the youths. It is too sweet. That's why they'd rather die than relinquish their position. We have to take it from them. It is ironic that the bulk of voters are the youths but 90% of our leaders are over the age of 50. We need to stop being stupid. These men are very wise. They know how to apply the divide and rule tactics when it is time for elections and know that there's no ethnicity when it comes to sharing our national cake.
Our future is in our hands.

Politics / Re: Ministry Of Mines And Steel Spends N700 Million To Develop Portal by clevadani: 8:43pm On Nov 10, 2017
swtdrms:

Thank you Mr Oga, I already have a good idea of the caliber of people am talking to. When i see someone who isn't expose but thinks he's seen it all, I can easily tell from the person's disposition. Besides, we need to start enlightening people that its not always "just a website".

During the era of fashola's Website saga, many people believe WordPress site can never worth 78m, "programmers" inclusive. These are some of the impressions we all need to work on and correct.

NB, I am not in anyway defending fashola building a website for 78m. All I am saying is we need to stop being myopic in our outlook. That's how I'll bill somebody 20m for a job to be done and he'll start telling me just a website? And these local developer will come over telling the client "that guy is a thief, I will do it for less than a million" which will eventually be done and turn out to be a failed project.

Serious projects require serious resources. The AGIS project I talked about was developed and managed by German company before it was been handed over to Nigerians. For how long do we continue to be unfit for high end projects?

That was the way someone the other time was claiming to be tech guru classifying facebook not be a tech company. Such a person will as well tell you facebook is just a website and shouldn't worth more than 10m naira.
I get your point, but still there's no point denigrating others just in order to get your point across. You have no idea who you'd meet online.
When I say I am a fullstack web developer, I don't mean html and css. I am fully comfortable with the MEAN and MERN stack and I just started taking courses in machine learning. I learned programming on my own and I know how difficult it is and the value of the industry especially in Nigeria. I have been working on a software for the past four months, and I have a deep knowledge of softwares.
After reading your comments in the morning, I went to download two GIS pdfs because I wanted to know what it's all about. And I realized it is still software at the end even if it is highly complicated. I also realized that all the features can be implemented if the project is given to a competent company.
Fashola's website project was just another outrageous project. I know websites and webapps are not cheap, but we should be sincere and not turn blind eye when our government is being wasteful with our resources.
Stop being angry incompetent developers are taking jobs from you. Just like you said, they fail 9 times out of 10 and the client will still crawl back to you.

swtdrms:

You being a full stack developer doesn't put you in the know how of GIS. I am as well a programmer who has been working on a GIS application over the last six months, so I know better. GIS is no child's play I indeed well executed. There are many aspects to it. The company I work for is in the process of proposing a GIS application for DISCOs which should cost over a billion Naira to execute. So keep shut when you know nothing about a particular field.
The AGIS (Abuja Geographic Information Systems) which El-Rufai brought up when he was the minister was a huge project with huge cost as well, Today, it services justifies it cost, as we are all enjoying it's dividends.

I am not in anyway defending this ministry, I am only trying to educate you, letting you know that GIS isn't like the 10k website you are developing upandan calling yourself a full stack developer.
It's nice knowing you're a programmer. You should be careful with how you talk to people online, because you have no idea who you're talking to.
10k website? That's laughable.

Throwback:

Illiterates should only speak on basic topics that can be argued at a beer parlour.

Spending $2m on a portal depending on what the complexities of it are and what level of integrated database is required, is not a child's play.

The ministry has itself revealed this information freely to the public, to prevent the likes of you from making a mockery of serious business initiatives as some scandal that has been exposed.
That's bs. I am a fullstack developer and that amount is outrageous no matter the complexities involved in the development of the portal.

I am also a supporter of this current govt, but let's stop deceiving ourselves and say the truth at all times. Only then can we progress as a nation.

I read through some threads on nl politics section, and I can't help but question the intellectual capacity of some posters.
Do you think this dick measuring contest makes any sense at all? What's the point in coming up with a post like this? Does it matter who developed Lagos? Why can't we focus on more important subjects?
Lagos is developed and it took the collective efforts of different Nigerians and more importantly, good leadership. It is high time we grow above ethnic and religious bigotry and start to come up with solutions that can solve our myriad of problems. Thank you

Politics / The Beginning Of The End? by clevadani: 9:20pm On Oct 25, 2017
After going through the various claims and counter claims surrounding the current scandal involving this government, every supporter needs to start asking if this scandal will lead to the end of this government.
As a supporter of Buhari, it will take a miracle to win back public support after this latest round of impunity being perpetuated by this government. How can a high level appointment like that of Maina be done without the president knowing about it? Maina was the sole success of Jonathan administration when it comes to fighting corruption.
There no point having a leader who doesn't have control of his appointees. This government has simply degenerated into a Jonathan esque leadership, where apologists starts to blame the ineptitude of the leader on his appointees.
For me Buhari is the last straw for this current crop of leaders. We need a young, driven, visionary, selfless, an d progressive leaders who not just understands the past, but also has a clear plan on the future. For now, we're waiting for 2019, we cannot allow this to continue.
Do you the Buhari administration can recover from this scandal?
