As expected, a lot of people didn't read the post. Though I would be happy if our senate is disbanded, it seems this is another case of dictatorship on Africa. And this is why Africa will continue to struggle.

I realized the problem you just highlighted aeons ago. And that is why fighting for the common man on the street is an exercise in futility IMO.

This is the very reason why we are now lacking in genuine activists; because the guys you think you are fighting for would end up throwing you under the bus!
Just imagine the nonsense. This guy is risking his life and that of his family by taking on powerful people and instead of being supported, he is being mocked by the people he is fighting for. It is very very sad. We would never go anywhere with this kind of mentality.

I can only shake my head at people who don't realize the importance what Sowore is doing.
This guy can actually decide to lie low and stop reporting, and it would have zero impact on his life. But he has decided to single-handedly take on the biggest problem facing Nigeria and instead of being supported by the masses, he is being ridiculed by the same masses.
Reading through this thread has given me a very clear idea why we are where we are. And this is why we produce the kind of leaders we currently have.

They raised over $15000 in 24hrs.

amokeme:
Well said.. one thing is to have an idea, another is to have the capital (or equipment) to start. Though the capital can be gotten( without any physical dime) when you engage your possibility mentality.
All in all, is still not easy.... But is doable.

Yes, it is really doable. And like I said youths should stop wallowing in self pity and start cracking their brains. There are successful business men and women who are looking for young, honest and enthusiastic youths to mentor.
Youths should be patient and stop looking for quick money and start up capital. Meet these business people and offer to work for them for free for a couple of years. With the understanding that they would help you find your own venture when the time is right. This will not just give you experience in that line of business, it will also give you the required contacts when you want to start your own business. No wise business person will reject free service. Some might even take pity on you and give you paid employment.
This is the time for youths to start thinking outside of the box and put their minds to work.

Jobs/Vacancies / Enough Of Theses Lamentations by clevadani: 10:18pm On Jun 05, 2017
Hmmm, where will I start from
A day doesn't pass by without one seeing new threads filled with lamentations of a youth on nairaland. I don't know if I should sympathize or be annoyed with these people. In fact, I am more angry than sympathetic with this set of people. Before bringing out your pitchforks, let me tell why.
If you are young and you are educated as you claim, then you have no right to complain. If you went to a university, your case is bad. And if you can make use of the internet, your case is even worse. How can you go to the university with the mindset of getting a job in Nigeria? Where's the job going to come from? Don't you read the news? There are no jobs. Not in Nigeria. There's virtually zero investments that will lead to the creation of jobs. The only available ones are left for the privileged few and the very lucky ones.
Going into the University and especially in Nigeria, your mindset should be that of solving problems and taking advantage of the various opportunities that abound in this country. The world is now a global village, you're not just limited to Nigeria.
I know that our educational system is highly flawed, and doesn't prepare you for real life. It is still the same, as it was in the he 80's with no difference. You could get your employment letter before graduation and jobs were in abundance then.
But it is now up to you to educate yourself. You must equip yourself with skills that will make you relevant in this millennium. The internet has opened a whole lot of opportunities and you must seize them. YouTube is filled with millions of tutorials on any skill. These are skills you can learn and start making money both offline and online. If you just want to do business, then follow the Igbo model. Look for a very successful and God-fearing business man, and work for him for free. With the understanding that he/she will set you up after you finish the service. Even if the businessman doesn't set you up, you would have gathered enough experience and contacts to stand on your own. Trust me it is better than teaching for 5 years.
I am a website developer, seo expert and a fresh graduate of physics. I hustle for jobs both offline and online. I work for myself. Some days, I work for just an hour and on other times I work for 16hours. I've not started making millions, but I know that I am on the right path.Even if I work just for five hours daily, I'll still earn more than the amounts I see people write here daily. And if I'm not working sometimes, I'm always on YouTube watching a tutorial or just reading news.
To be a success, you must be ready to make sacrifices, work hard, be ready to learn, be ready to take risks and be really tenacious. This is the time to stop blaming the government, your school, your discipline, your parents, and your village people. And start to take responsibility. Get off nairaland, twitter, facebook, instagram, snap chat, lib etc and start being productive. Time is the most important commodity in this life and it waits for nobody.
Thanks for reading(awaiting your insults)

At this point everybody must answer their father name.

Igbo will never align with Yoruba wat so eva. As far as we are concerned, it is SS/SE.
If everyone should answer their father's name, when did the se and the ss start answering the same father's name.
I'm not even saying they should stay in the same country. Just to accelerate ghetto whole process.
It is clear you missed the whole point of the post.

Politics / Northerners - The Most Intelligent Group. by clevadani: 4:27pm On Jun 04, 2017
Before you start screaming, I am from the southern part of Nigeria. I know that you'll start presenting me stats from waec, neco, jamb etc. This would also be my first reaction if I see a thread with this title. But after reading Tanko Yakassai's interview, my views changed. But thinking about things critically, how did they manage to create a never ending war amongst themselves?
The south had gained nothing by being joined together with the north. And it is obvious there is nothing to be gained from them. I know some people will start mentioning meat, population, etc. Of what use is an uneducated and unproductive population? I was all for one Nigeria but after reading that interview and reading about how a governor is determined to spend over 500m to build mosques, it is obvious they are not ready to start living in the 21st century.
At this point, sw, SE, & ss leaders should stop the blame game, and start aligning to sever the south from the parasites in the north. It is obvious that everyone is on an edge right now. Biafra, oduduwa republic, ND republic, restructuring, regionalism, resource control etc will never be possible without an alliance in the south.
Let the insults begin

my name is joshua a chemical engineering graduate. it is so difficult to survive as a hardworking, honest and God fearing person here in Nigeria. After my NYSC i have been struggling from place to place, looking for opurtunities. i always shuttle from lagos to portharcourt...thinking that one day it will be well. i just discovered that it will never be well..

When we were in secondary school we were told to get a good course..my parents were happy when i got chemical engineering..then in school it was get a good result..that was no problem, i got a second class upper.

Ater service it was get certified..ahh, no wahala.. i got my NEBOSH certificate..then again some said it was connection..ok, i joined lots of proffesional whatsapp groups after much work, i even had to pay for some...funny enough the so called proffesional group failed woefully.

twice i was called for a job brief..twice i was rejected..the first reason was because i am igbo the woman saw my name and her countenance changed though she dashed me 2k and told me the usual words i would get back to you..ok, fair enough. The second was in portharcourt i was rejected because
of my church..Roman catholic.. hmmm. A young man was also rejected for same reason he kept on complaining while i was just laughing..though later i begged him for #100 for my TP, he gave me sha.. he is a nice man.

ok. i had to go back to the drawing board..met some people and they said i should just do further courses..oooo! course again, ok.. no wahala. i begged my mum to sell her bike for 110k so i can add 30k and do process safety and loss prevention..she accepted.. i sold the bike and did the course.. yet, no interview call. i said ok let me visit companies and give them the cv..my brother no show.

i sat still again..and then reviewed my cv..paid 2k for push CV to review the cv..still no luck.. downloaded CV review app used it time and time again. same results.. no calls.

the only thing i get everyday is insults from my Father and some relatives of how lazy and weak i am...this is not fair life itself is not fair..is it not better to die? after working hard in school and after school for about 8-10 years no result for it..

People will always say dont be tired but my brother i don tire... i know many of us have same story, but for me the only thing i can do to make the pain easy.. is write..

Nigeria is not worth it.. did i tell you i briefly went into business?.. but how can you do well in business without long time experience.. it is always difficult..well, the pressure is much and i see that breaking point is close... only God knows Tomorrow.

These days the only thing that comes to my mind is suicide..i have downloaded lots of books to see if i can find a solution.. but none yet.. please if you have good advice for me i am willing to hear it.

thanks
E Joshua

@clevadani I hope you are seeing this thread? This slowpoke of an OP will not open a thread about the detained Monarch and his subjects from Ondo, all of whom have been languishing in DSS detention camps for months now. Yet he is here pissing all over Nairaland with senseless threads and comments. By the time he starts getting paid back in kind now, you will start shouting that "this is becoming ridiculous!". Yet, you won't call your deranged brother to order now.
Bros, what do you mean by your brother? I don't think we're related.
This is the problem I have with you guys. So because he commented on my thread, it automatically means we share the same views on issues.
If you have an issue with a thread he created, take it up with him. Stop mentioning me, unless you want to share a joke with me or an important information. I haven't even read the thread and I have no idea what he's talking about. And I don't have any time to do that.

Its a good move to me...he needs more playing time in widely followed league like the EpL. He is still young and better clubs like barca can sign him later.
Clubs like Barça and Madrid has never and will never buy a player from West Ham.
It is an horrible move in my opinion. He needs a club in a lesser league, that give youngsters chances and plays in the ucl. How many players from these mid table English teams ever make it to elite clubs like Barça?
Bros, Abeg make we talk true.
