The building collapsed on Thursday evening as the Nigerian Institute of Architects (NIA) flagged-off a two-day event in Asaba is located right opposite Delta Mall, Asaba otherwise known as "Shoprite", in the heart of Asaba.

At least eight persons have been confirmed in the collapse of a proposed 20-storey hotel building in Asaba, Delta State.

The building collapsed on Thursday evening as the Nigerian Institute of Architects (NIA) flagged-off a two-day event in Asaba is located right opposite Delta Mall, Asaba otherwise known as "Shoprite", in the heart of Asaba.

Eyewitnesses account said, the collapse building which generated panic within the area saw workers scampering for their lives while residents and passersby gathered to watch the scenario.

SaharaReporters observed that the construction of the multi-billion naira building commenced this year after an oil mogul, Gabriel Ogbechie, purchased and demolished the former South-Gate hotel situated in the land.

Reacting to the collapsed building shorting after the inspection of the property, the Delta State Commissioner for Urban Renewal, Michael Anoka said the building collapsed as a result of building defect, saying investigation was still ongoing.

"The Ministry is still investigating. The government is already taking measures and as you can see, the compound has been sealed. After our investigation, we will come up with a report of what happened here today. Everybody should be calm; the government has already started measures before this incident today. We are trying to put up a process that we will be able to avoid such situations.”

As at the time of filing this report, the site has been sealed off while the eight injured persons are said to be currently receiving treatment in the hospital.

Foreign Affairs / Egypt Bans Niqab In Schools by clockwisereport: 8:45am On Sep 16, 2023
Education minister says students can wear hijab but are no longer allowed to use face veils

The Egyptian government has announced a ban on the wearing of the face-covering niqab in schools from the beginning of the next term on 30 September.

Education Minister Reda Hegazy made the announcement on Monday, adding that students would still have the right to choose whether to wear a headscarf, but insisted it must not cover their faces.

He also said that the child's guardian should be aware of their choice, and that it must have been made without any outside pressure.

"Here, the role of the teachers of the Arabic language, religious education, and social and psychological education, will be to prepare the students psychologically to implement the ministry’s decision with all kindness and gentleness, taking into account the students’ psychological state and their age level," he said in a statement.

There has been an ongoing debate over the wearing of the niqab in schools for many years in Egypt.
The garment has been worn by Muslim women for religious reasons across the world for centuries.

Rights group have argued that the Egyptian constitution protects religious freedoms and restricting the niqab is a violation of civil liberties.

A number of public and private institutions across Egypt already impose bans on the wearing of the niqab.

Cairo University has banned the wearing of face veils by teaching staff since 2015, a rule that was upheld by an Egyptian court in 2020.

Mind you this is a personal project by a progressive Nigerian, not the government

There are people richer and well to do than FBO. imagine if they each help 120 people. That's millions and millions of lives touched positively.

If you watched the video, you will hear one of the Nigerians saying there are over 2000 Pakistanis in Nigeria.

The question is what are they doing in Nigeria? Does anybody harass them because they are not Nigerians?

I failed ma test (3/30 to be specific), all d questions were under complex numbers until I did two days devotion on it and came out with a C in d course

Lol. Similar thing happened to me. I planned to cheat in the exam with my friend in Numerical methods. My friend disappointed me in the exam hall. I later got a D in the course. After school, I downloaded a Numerical Methods textbook and studied it till I became a master in it. Today, I have forgotten everything in it as I do not need it again

If you truly know how to solve mathematical problems, you won’t need anyone to tell you how to apply them in real life.

The best AI programmers and machine learning experts in today’s world are mathematicians.

What is modern technology without AI? And where will the world be without technology?

Please, where can I apply Lebesgue measure?
