Foreign Affairs / Re: Israel Fires On Unarmed Aid Convoy. Many Dead! by cmezue: 2:53pm On Jun 01, 2010
As someone commented, this may have been a partially staged incident by the "protest fleet." However, I suspect the aim of their protest was only to approach the blockade and then allow themselves to be turned away by overwhelming Israeli naval forces. I don't think any of the protesters planned to be boarded in international waters and have 10 of their group killed and some 30 more wounded.
By boarding an unarmed vessel, belonging to a "friendly nation," in international waters, the Israeli military committed a violation of international law. It is even arguable that the people on the one ship who resisted the boarding party of commandos had every right to defend themselves from an illegal seizure of their vessel.
Israel has clearly "screwed the pooch" on this one, and I suspect there will be serious consequences to follow!

Princek12:

Any person can purport to justify their actions with religion, for you cannot prevent anyone from speaking their opinion, even when it is a false opinion. That being said, the issue is not whether there are evil doers who perpetrate their wicked ways under the pretext of any religion, say Islam or Christianity, but the issue is whether there is a Biblical or Koranic basis for justifying such heinous acts?

There is no Biblical basis for perpetrating any heinous acts, especially in the New Testament, where such evil behaviors are unequivocally repudiated. The Holy Koran, on the other hand, has passages under which an evildoer can perpetrate and justify his heinous acts, and the Koran explicitly sanctions the use of violence, as in Jihad, to defend Islam. Christianity, while strikingly different from Islam, provides that vengeance should be left to God, and that if the enemy slaps you on the right cheek, turn the left cheek to the enemy so that he can slap you again. Christianity is a religion of peace. As a matter of fact, one of the cardinal principles that underlies the Christian faith and that which is obvious in the Ten Commandments is thou shall not kill. Can the same be said of the Quran? I challenge any Muslim to defend with Koranic passages.

Because of the Koran's sanction of violence, it is axiomatic that terrorists can speak of the evil actions against a backdrop of an AK-47 assault rifle side by side with the Holy Koran, and recite verses from the Koran before they embark on killing innocent people, especially suicide bombers. Likewise, the terrorists who beheaded an American journalist in Iraq recited verses from the Koran before and during the beheading process. This is the corollary of he Koran's sanction of violence.

really? then u must not know ur bible then. there is a biblical basis for perpetrating any act. abi how do u think d calabar(abi na akwa ibom) terrorist justified his act

Religion / Re: Where Was God During The Rwandan Genocide ? by cmezue: 1:54pm On Dec 03, 2009
hmmmmm very interesting thread. couldnt help but to read from first to last page. from wot i can gather here -pls correct me if i'm wrong- it seems that:

1. the religionists cant prove d existence of thier different Gods, they just believe dat he/it/she does exist
2. the atheist cant prove that any form of god does not exist. they see it as if he/it/she does, show/prove urself. in d absence of doing dat dont blame me for not believing in u

Art, Graphics & Video / Re: 2d/3d Art Gallery by cmezue: 6:26pm On Sep 23, 2009
@kemji, wit those lips he definately looks african grin

my own 2 cents: i kno u said u r looking to stylize ur character, but methinks his skin texture is too flat (esp from his neck downwards). if u look at d human skin u'll notice a lot of hues and variations from d original color (brown, black or woteva). adding some color variations will definately make ur character more interesting. rememba stylizing is an exageration of reality.
