Music/RadioRe: Rock Music Is Satanic? by cnnmagic: 10:07am On Apr 09, 2008
Not all rock but most hard rock, Heavy Metal are demonic. While I agree that some rap and r&b (rugged&brutal) could be channels for expressing debasing, demonic views and attitudes, heavy metal music is strictly satanic! There are songs that went as far as glorifying satan above Almighty God,Jehovah, with expressions as dogs si natas, an inverted form of satan is god - the height of secularian, free will Blasphemy!!!!!!

PhonesNCC Plans GSM 'Number Portability' by cnnmagic(op): 12:17pm On Aug 27, 2007
Gsm Operators To Lose Phone Number Monopoly

Soon, your Glo number can become an MTN line—and vice versa—without you having to change your SIM card. And you may wish to do that at will.

The Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) says it has concluded plans to break the monopoly over numbers of subscribers.

This new regime, known as “number portability”, will allow subscribers to move from one network to the other, without necessarily changing their SIM cards or altering their numbers.

The Executive Vice Chairman of the NCC, Mr Ernest Ndukwe, disclosed this new plan during the fourth anniversary of the Telecoms Consumer Parliament held in Abuja at the weekend.

Ndukwe said the number portability would help reduce the complaints of “poor quality of service on the network of certain operators”, as subscribers would have the opportunity to change operators at will.

NCC said the number portability would push all the mobile phone operators to reduce their tariffs and improve the quality of their services since the monopoly over subscribers would be removed.

Many subscribers said they had remained on particular mobile networks because of the fear of losing their identified numbers, promising to be more adventurous as soon as the number portability was implemented.

But the Big Question is When Will This Be? Will It Actually Work?

ComputersLets Fight Sales Of Refurbished Laptops As New! by cnnmagic(op): 2:45pm On Dec 01, 2006
Hello, comrades! This is the time to fight the bad guys. Our only version of the 'Silicon Valley', the Computer Village in Otigba, Ikeja is under attack by crooked traders who sell Refurbished Laptops as new ones to unsuspecting customers. This has been creating bad publicity for both Computer Village and Nigeria as a country. The situation has gotten so bad that the Computer Village has become known as a zone where refurbished laptops are passed off as new ones.
Most annoying is the fact that Refurbished Laptops as well as other gadgets can actually be marketed the way they are- Refurbished- since they come quite cheaper than the new ones from manufacturers. So why would anyone want to greedily profit by giving false information to earn unjust profit.

ACTION Lets fight this trend by exposing traders in Computer Village and anywhere that sells or has sold Refurbished Laptops as new to you, a friend, relative or colleague. Kindly make availaible if handy his Business or Shop name and address, Phone Number,Personal Name, Scanned Copy of Reciepts or Invioces acknowledging the transaction, and correct Serial number of the Laptop.

This would be published in a foremost Newspaper in the country and other dailles subsequently, as these fight continues. Sincere, Public-Interest motivated Journalists reporting in the sector of ICT/Technology are joining this fight. So please, give your support in this regard and be ready to join in the part (II) of this crusade which will be focused against the sales of KILLER Computers with expired Monitor tubes in the country!

EducationRe: Unilag Cutoff Point For Addmision by cnnmagic: 11:12am On Oct 16, 2006
I talked with a Senior Lecturer friend in Unilag over the weekend. He said the minimum required score for the Post-UME Test is 50. I asked what the maximum was he said 100.
EducationRe: How To Access Unilag Post-ume Test Result Online by cnnmagic(op): 5:35pm On Oct 12, 2006
Thanks guys! I just got the link to access the UNILAG POST UME TEST: www.unilag.edu/prospectus.

Type in your JAMB Registration number and your score will be presented with your details. But there is a snag, there is no way to know what the cut-off mark really is. For example if one scores 55 in ENGLISH STUDIES does he qualify for an admission?
