d tin is,am a programa nd a linux entusiast,i dnt hav a pc,but ma phne has helpd me alot in my ministry,i.e dey r afew apps available in d markt dat can b usd in programin,evn witout a pc...i'v bn usin dat since,but i hav always dreamt of wrkin wit a full linux powerd machine lyk apples MAC/ OS X..but d price is way off ma reach,nd wen i discovrd i culd instal linux nd various distributions on ma g2,i was v.happy,at least its d nxt bst tin...d developers say dat wit it installd,u can instal nd run alot of linux basd apps,e.g LAMP etc..dats y i wnt it..BUT ITS NOT 4 EVERY BODY...a regular phn user wuldnt find linux intrestin,takes sum geeky knwledge to wrk dat,nd apart frm dat,d installation can render ur phn useless 4 lyf if sumtin goes wrng....so,dat m attemptin to do it dsnt mean odas shuld..i hav my own intrests

I downgraded my g2 dis mrnin to 4.0.4 ICS...so far so gud...i plan to instal Linux ubuntu or debian aftrwards

Yes bro,u can...i dont have a pc,but with ma c1+6730c+htc g2(with linux debian installed),i can build any kind of site.
Java phone: Has 2 known php editors,1 with ftp client,but scripts have to be served up to an online server to work.
Symbian Phone: pple dnt knw dis,but nokia has a mobile web server named PAMP..d name says it all,PERSONAL APACHE MYSQL PHP/PERL.nd wit it,u can build full database driven sites on d fly evn wit .htaccess support nd multiple VirtualHosts
Android Phone: D power of this OS is sumtin else,dat asyd...they are at least 4 diffrnt mobile servers available 4 android,1 of which is paid,d odas r free,nd all three of dem use lighttp configuration,nd all support php,nd dey cum wit phpmyadmin...

The above is the reason "experienced people" here call us "newbies". PHP is not even as fast as ASP.NET. People often have this misconception! PHP is a less programming language when compared to the big boys (C#, JAVA, C++, C). I won't go further wit this arguement, you can always Google it if you like.
Since u're enthusiastic about PHP and no other, I don't knw, but have you tried anything else?
Web development is most essential thing PHP is good for. And if u hav read all those "I Want To Learn Programming" posts that flooded here in the past, then u'd have seen that the pros here, help a lot. And because PHP is the easiest language to learn, everybdy recommends it, but at the same time, that's why some hate it.
