When will Nigeria ever get close to resembling those nation when we want to languish in subsidy mediocrity rather than embrace reforms, painful in the short term, that will stimulate innovation, productivity and solutions-porvistiin nous Nigeria needs to compete and thrive in today's global economy?

Obdurately focusing on petrol price alone misses the big picture per where Nigeria needs to get to enroute to being a developed nation. We need great transport, steady power, proliferation of SMEs, a strong currency based on economic success anchored firmly on manufacturing and exporting more good and services than we import. Etc, etc.

How will all those happen with the subsidy lifestyle some want Nigeria to persevere with which only favours the outlook of Northern leaders who feel government money should basically provide a big and free food parlour for all?

A lecturer fails to appear for his classes, ASUU arises and threatens to go on strike if disciplinary action is taken against such erring lecturer.

A student is denied a class of degree he or she merited and some other students and lecturer see it as normal. It gets worse when some of these students begin to condemn schools that award the appropriate classes of degree to deserving students. Some of these students tag these normal schools as being too easy failing to understand that they already started seeing and calling a misnormal what it isn't.

I had my first degree in UI, second in Unilag and currently in Covenant. The difference between the public schools and CU administratively is similar to the difference between light and darkness.

The main force driving CU is God through honest people. If left to the forces prevailing in UI and other public schools, CU will be a centre where angry lecturers get even with the elites by victimizing their children.
