PoliticsWhat Will Be The Wake Up Call For Nigerian Youths? by Colar234(op): 7:27pm On Nov 17, 2019
It seems Nigerian youths seems to be in their slumber over the things happening in Nigeria. What can be their wake up call?
PoliticsAre Nigerian Youths The Leaders Of Tomorrow? by Colar234(op): 12:17am On Nov 17, 2019
Youths they say are the leaders of tomorrow. Do you think Nigerian youths will ever be the leaders of tomorrow?
PoliticsRe: In Your Own Words What Can The Youths Do In Nigeria To Change Nigeria For Good? by Colar234(op): 1:05am On Nov 13, 2019
I guess we all need to start inwards first. Let us define our goals and work towards it. Election process in Nigeria is not free and fair but we can all stand up and defend our votes provided we say a big no to vote buying. We need to start now rather than the usual noise we make during election year. Let us share our positive views towards making Nigeria great

Can you honestly say what is reasonable Nigerian youths can do to change Nigeria as a nation?

FamilyThe Plight Of A Widow, Where Will Her Help Come From...? by Colar234(op): 3:51pm On Oct 21, 2019
The Plight of a Widow, Where will her help come from...?
As I write this piece, I am still at loss with the level of injustice and unfairness prevalent in our country Nigeria. My interest in creating a forum for the voiceless and downtrodden has afforded me the opportunity to interact with this particular widow in question leaves a bitter taste and moreover emboldens my resolve to help in anyway I can to bring this deplorable anomaly to public scrutiny.
The travails of Mrs Rose Chiedu and her son Okwudili from Umuakpom Village, Ezeawulu, Nibo in Awka South local government area of Anambra State, Nigeria commenced with the death of Late Mr Chigbata Chiedu, their beloved husband and father respectively. After the funeral rites of the deceased, his siblings in their vile and evil machination contorted falsehoods in an apparent conspiracy to evict the grieving widow and possess Chigbata’s Home which leaves her grieving wife and son homeless.
The siblings of the widow’s husband namely Mr Jerome Chiedu, Mr Ejiofor Chiedu, Mrs Veronica Azaga (Nee Chiedu), Mrs Catherine Nwafor (Nee Chiedu) and their cohorts forcefully removed this poor widow from the house she and her late husband erected at Nibo. To properly act out their evil script, they planted Mrs Catherine Nwafor (Nee Chiedu) whom is married to a man from the neighbouring village (Umuka) to abandon her husband’s house and take over the house which rightfully should be occupied by the widow and her son, thereby making it literally impossible for the widow to regain entry into the house.
This I found odd and questioned why their community allowed this kind of injustice to stand. It was then that I was confronted with the dynamics at play here – although their community met and voiced their disapproval of the wrongs meted to this widow, that message from the community falls on deaf ears and Mr Ejiofor Chiedu who possesses the financial means and connections, sponsored a vicious campaign of intimidation and harassment to quell any voice of descent. This included him boasting that he had already settled the police and other law enforcement agencies with the sum of Three Million Naira and threatened to invest more money should anyone try to bring back the poor widow to the said house which belongs to her and her late husband.
With this poor widow left to her own device, and having nobody to fight for her, she has been effectively homeless and squatting with various relatives. The last relative she was occupying her house has requested for her to vacate the accommodation due to their re-location back to the village.
To fulfil the treats from Mr Ejiofor Chiedu, when the poor widow made an attempt to move back to her late husband’s home with her son, the police immediately pounced on her and her son and whisked them away to the central police station, Awka where they were immediately locked up and forgotten at the police cell without anyone to speak for them or act on their behalf. Any attempt she has made to regain what is rightfully hers has been thwarted by her in-laws and their powerful connections. Where did this poor widow and her son go wrong?
The climax and most disheartening episode of this already agonising saga for this widow occurred last week (17th of October, 2019) when her son who felt he had come of age and buoyed by a resolution by their community that the home was rightfully theirs, decided to commence a drive to return to their home considering the fact that he and his mother are homeless. What followed was a barrage of lawsuits and arrests by law enforcement agencies which resulted in both Okwudili and her mother Rose being detained in a police cell. What offence did they commit by going back to their home?
They are as we speak homeless and are terrified by this trauma; coupled with the anticipated and heightened persecutions coming their way.
Mr Ejiofor Chiedu has been bragging that he will initiate court actions as he knows that she and her son cannot afford to defend themselves and that before that comes, he will ensure they visit the police station regularly and he has been keeping upto that promise.
My questions are these –
How could a poor widow with no means of sustenance be subjected to this kind of abuse and depravity while the community at large stays mute?
Why should a widow be punished and rendered homeless, although she toiled with her late husband to set up an abode?
Is it a punishable offence to be a widow, poor and helpless?
Should we abandon the downtrodden or is it our duty to stand up to injustice?
Are there any suggestions from any concerned entity on how to help this hapless widow?
Is the Nigerian police designed to punish the poor?
Could you please share this to shine some light on this injustice? #savethiswidow #notoinjustice #nibostandup #bringbackthewidowtoherhome
Please share this until it gets to the IG of police, AIG of zone 9, Commissioner of police Anambra State, Legal practitioners, defenders of the poor, defenders of the widows, human rights groups, etc.

Car TalkWhat Is Your Experience With Nigerian Customs On Car Duty? by Colar234(op): 1:31am On Dec 12, 2018
It is with great surprise and total disappointment that I want to share this issue and see if anyone has experienced this issue with customs and what is the way forward to deal with the issue.

I bought a car from USA car auction site, shipped it and it arrived Lagos tincan. I engaged a clearing agent to deal with the clearing process and the car was cleared. I was handed the documentations of the car and I proceeded with its registration.

First trip was to Abuja after two weeks of registering the car and on my way to Abuja I was stopped by customs and they demanded that I should present them with the customs papers and I handed all the documentations I was presented with to them.

The customs officer came back and told me that the duty was not correctly paid and I said it was as the receipt for the payment was among the documents I handed over to him and he re-echoed yes but that it was supposed to be more than that. I became confused and demanded that he should explain this further as I have vested trust on the clearing agent that cleared the car.

Next thing was that I should give them 100k for me to continue my journey. I told him that I do not have that money on me and do not see any reason why I should do such as well. The car did cost me $4500 in total while the customs valuation placed the car at $5550 which obviously is more than what I paid for the car and I paid the duty based on the calculation of customs valuation.

Now I asked the custom officer, you issued a valuation after inspection and the duty was paid, you confirmed the payment and issued a release order and the car was released from the ports. Now the same customs that issued the valuation have positioned their men on the road to tell me that I did not make a full payment. Who gave and approved valuation on the car? Who issued the release order?

After about 2 hours of my time, I asked them to take me to their office as I want to understand what went wrong. Now their demand changed to 50k than 20k but considering my moral standing, I want to always be on the right hence I want to understand what the problem is and also I do not give or take bribe of which I informed the custom officer. He became very angry but I stood my stand for them to take me to their office. I guess I was disturbing them as I told them that I will start taking pictures and video footage of their activity on that check point so I can share such via the social media. Then the officer came with my documents and asked me to go my way as he wants to overlook my short comings.

Please can someone throw more light so I can understand exactly what the situation is with the car and the duty paid on it.

I want to be sure that I have not done anything wrong (Including the agent) so I can be very equipped to defend myself if that type of nasty situation arises again.
PoliticsRe: Monica Explains Gov.umahi's Stand On Peter Obi's Nomination As Atiku's Vice. by Colar234: 8:37pm On Oct 16, 2018
Umahi is a fool that always want to associate with Buhari. It is obvious that the combination of Atiku and Obi will send shivers down Buhari's spine and Umahi wants to score a cheap point and destabilize the PDP. Shame on you.

PoliticsA Word For The Nigerian Youths by Colar234(op): 2:32pm On Oct 15, 2018
If we can genuinely support our prayers with actions then our voice as Nigerian youths will surely echo out with a positive output. We have lots of churches everywhere in Nigeria more than the western world but they have much better life than us. Hard work is what we require the most as we have prayed enough for Nigeria. Arise Nigerian youths the future is now lets us unite and play our part.

PoliticsWhat Role Will Nigerian Youths Perform Towards Making Nigeria Great? by Colar234(op): 7:27pm On Oct 12, 2018
In your own context, what role do you think the youths needs to play towards making Nigeria great?

PoliticsOrganisation Of Nigerian Youths (Play your part for the future is now) by Colar234(op): 5:00pm On Oct 12, 2018
Only if we all unite and form a formidable voice, they will keep ignoring us and refer to us as leaders of tomorrow. When will the tomorrow be here? The future is now lets us unite and play our part.
We have spent so much time praying and fasting for years without any effort geared towards holding anyone responsible for the total failure of our country. Now we need to action our efforts by playing our part via making our voice to be heard. Let us unite together and make our country great. Our future is now. Arise Nigerian youths.

CFCman:
Yea, he should obey the laws of his host country; but he is covered by diplomatic immunity. So, he can't be prosecuted in a Nigerian court.
No that your notion is wrong. If a diplomat fails to obey traffic law in the western world like UK, He gets fined and will lose points from his/her Driving license if issued by UK (if not issued by UK government that will go on his driving history created via the driving license he is using). If he fails to pay the fine after 28 days, then he will be charged to court and that will now be viewed as a court case. You guys should not make assumptions nobody is above the law and should be treated as such.

Close your mouth!! Who asked you your biography. No one needs a university degree to understand diplomatic immunity never mind whatever it is you are claiming you are.Assuming indeed he is a diplomat and has diplomatic immunity(Not all embassy staff do) The fact is the Nigerian Government can ask him to leave the country if they find his presence unacceptable. They can give him 48 hours to leave and if he is still here he will find himself in court. He has no right to be in Nigeria ,it is a privilege
This man has no right or protection to do such. You must abide by the laws of your host country. He can be prosecuted but our problem in Nigeria is who will prosecute him? Where is the evidence to use for the prosecution? Let us continue to prayer for our country Nigeria and one day God will surely deliver us.
