dicefrost: This is where I believe many Nigerians get it wrong. The problem facing local farmers in Nigeria is NOT importation. There are key indices constantly against farmers. Even if you ban importation , local farming will not improve until you fix the fundamental issues. We will never be self sufficient, instead we will just have food scarcity and soaring prices as we have now.
The solution is to fix the fundamental issues. If local rice is cheap, and meets the standard of the imported commodity, smuggling will become unprofitable. It ll die naturally. Grammar. Upon all the grammar, you hid under the cryptic term of fundamentals. What are they? |
