The Tax Reform bill which is one of the most carefully crafted document and impressive tax collection proposal will go down as the second (2nd) biggest achievement of the PBAT led Administration after the Local Government autonomy bill.

The Taiwo Oyedele led Tax reform committee did a fantastic one (1) year detailed proposal to the President in ensuring that a fair " Derivative" based tax model is adopted in Nigeria.

I watched Seun Okinbaloye's interview with Senator Alli Ndume and I weep for the kind of leaders been produced from the North. It's a shame that a high ranking Senator and respected one would come on National TV and boast that a document he has not read is "dead on arrival".

I totally support the implementation of the Tax Reform bill as it will improve healthy competition amongst states whilst encouraging creative ways of generating revenue.

VAT is a consumption tax and would be earned by states where the consumption takes place.

British American Tobacco (BAT) products are one of the the most heavily taxed with a significant chunk of the consumption in the core North.

Similarly the Fintechs with mobile money operations are also taxed and the VAT earned by originating states.
