Politics / Re: Customs Reduces Exchange Rate For Import Duties Payment by commoditiesnig: 4:46pm On Apr 19
PressMyButton:

You're a joke, a very big joke. You guys just sit behind your phone spewing trash. Would you rather we encourage excessive importation at the detriment of the naira?, knowing the much lower the custom rate, the more pressure on the dollar. At this point, we can't afford too low custom rate while stabilizing the naira, else it will be counter-productive.
Good point! We need to do more export than import

Better face reality. There's a reason why things have been the way they are for many years
I don't understand your comment.

I can't remember when FX official and "black market" rate had ever been at par..

We must commend the CBN and FG for this great feat.

People should expect foodstuffs to drop in price during the harvest period which is from Sept to Dec this year. We are off-peak period when foodstuff used to be expensive.

This is executive rascality and sort of juvenile delinquency. He thinks he is a student union president. That's why some feel young people are not ready for leadership. Imagine if this one is appointed the president.
I tell you.. So embarrassing scenario and action by a governor

Business / Successful Convergence of FX Official & Parallel/BDC Rate: Amazing Feat By CBN by commoditiesnig: 3:06pm On Apr 18
One must commend the CBN for the amazing feat of convergence of both the official and parallel FX rate.

For the first time in close to two decades, the Official USD rate is higher than the Parralel/BDC rate.. I'm not sure i even remember when last this ever happened.

Kudos to the CBN led by mr Cardozo on this great feat. They should keep the momentum going.

Business / Re: It's Not Our Intention To Defend The Naira - Cardoso Speaks On Foreign Reserves by commoditiesnig: 2:09pm On Apr 18
iichidodo:
I don't see the need of a hullabaloo on the size of our foreign reserve, especially if it's used in something as crucial as improving the intrinsic value of the currency used and transacted by millions of Nigerians. If 2Billion$ helps to push naira from 1900 to 1100, then say another 4Billion$ can help us get to at least 200 naira. Now if 1$ equals to 200# in 2024, you wouldn't fail to realize that cash and savings of millions Nigerians just got far more valuable . What's the need of a foreign reserve, if it cannot help to execute crucial macroeconomic function we just highlighted before....And las las, we have crude oil sales to replenish the reserve...

Stay blessed brother!!!

Lagos is fast taking shape. The other day I went to Epe, and I was surprise to noticed that there wasn't a single pothole on the road. From LBS to Epe was a 1:30 minutes drive and not a single pothole! Craneburg did that stretch and was a fantastic one 👏.

Sai Sanwo-olu, Sai Ambode, Sai Jagaban!!! God bless my Lagos cool
Yes they're doing great job! Most major roads in Lagos are fixed and well motorable
