If Tinubu concludes his 8yr regime and we cannot boast of power generation beyond 10,000MW that is still very poor, then I would know that it is a deliberate plan by the ruling class not to grow our electric power capacity.

Op good one! you beat me to it.. I wanted put up this same post: "Reasons why the kids show called "protest" failed".. Along with what you rightly stated, let me add:

1. There was no KNOWN Arrowhead/Organizers of the protest. Just some kids on social media propagating it. Thats when i knew it had failed before it started.

2. The major Unions e.g NLC and TUC that should have championed it weren't carried along. Any protest without NLC, TUC, NUPENG, ASUU, etc will surely fail.

3. It had a political agenda.. People saw behind this. That also ensured it failed.

4. It had foreign agenda/sponsors

5. The news/romour of regime change and flag hoisting just killed the protest intention.

6. Lastly how can you be protesting with no arrangement to meet govt with documents of your demands. Demands only circulating on social media and you expect Govt to take them serious? Never!

The doubting Thomas kids rushed to apply for the loan after they saw many people uploading proof of the loan disbursed to them and the upkeep.

Like some people advised, FG should have a separate portal where we can identify students that got this loans with their details.

It could also be a good data point for their parent because some children will collect school fees from home and still take a loan. The main objective of this intervention is to relief the parent, so FG must do this so parents can know too.

This is what I don't get about Nigerians and these misguided protesters.

The FG and states share money every month, the FG takes its share to maintain FG obligations and the state takes its share in the form of allocations to take care of their citizens at the state level including LGs.

The states collect allocations to take care of you and your needs, it's their job to promote agriculture (Northern Governors are doing this with ease) also to build roads, hospitals, and schools, provide clean drinking water, lobby for investments and create jobs, these are the responsibilities of the state governments, but since they don't teach civic education in Nigeria, the average Nigerian think everything is the responsibility of the FG.

The governors fly under the radar and they are invisible to their subjects and their clueless subjects are so obsessed with the FG that the governors get away with everything and their money.

Your number 1 and primary problem is your governor.

Mr Sanwo Olu has shown humility throughout, even before the protest started, he was pleading for calm.

He has not thrown his weight about threatening protesters.

What I have learned from this is that even when you are in a position of authority, genuine non-partisan humility can take you far.
