See as you stated it so authoritatively as if you're the one deciding who the winner will be? 😂 Simply, "I'm projecting PDP to win" would have been better comment, don't you think? That being said, let my Edo people decide their next governor alright. I wish I'm able to travel down there to vote when time comes. |

uniquetechng: I grew up in Festac and still visit there, the town's setting is different from any other part of Lagos, all land and houses are sold by FHA not individuals. FHA has sold every single flats there to individuals with papers, anyone demolishing buildings there is just being vendetta. Except they're referring to the new areas like 6 Avenue or Abule-Ado popularly refers to as Festac extension. Exactly you just answered your question. Those properties in 6th Avenue, Festac extension, and co were not part of the master plan.
Festac was/is a very planned area. I enjoyed my years living there. |

Intelligent submission. Very Brilliant! emkz: All candidates agreed that subsidy had to go.
Buhari subtly removed it by refusing to make budgetary provisions for it. Tinubu ought to have left it at that. But announcing it sent shock waves across the country because those wicked marketers hoarded products.
Defending the naira was also a form of dollar subsidy. You may not be aware that banks were hoarding fx because of the exchange rate differential. Also, there were too many BDCs unregistered that were doing the round-tripping. Like I argued then, every major currency is floated, but the market for trading fx is not floated. It is heavily regulated. But subsidizing dollar sakes, we open and sustain a new avenue of stealing by the already corrupt class. Okay, all the dollars Cardi B pumped into the system, what economic activity were they tied to?
Nothing! Just a store of wealth by the rich. The dollar subsidy had to go to free up funds for other things.
Are you aware that funds to universities and other tertiary institutions had increased? Are you also aware that FAAC allocations to states have increased?
As for minimum wage, many people do not know that FG pays more apart from the minimum wage. There are allowances that many civil servants would never talk about. I made a topic on it yesterday.
Ask any NNPC worker about allowances.
FG can pay 200k minimum wage because they already pay cumulatively up to that to some workers in the form of cumulated allowances. But the disparity with states that cannot pay will lead to an economic crisis. When retailers jerk up prices when they hear minimum wage increment, they never ask if you are a federal or state worker.
As for failure, Tinubu has not failed. Historically, one year is for settling in, two years for governance and the last year for politicking. If anything, Tinubu has shown he is bold and daring. He has learnt to be more tactical and diplomatic.
I don't see him failing. |

Politics › Re: Student Loan: 1.2 Million Beneficiaries Listed As Scheme Begins Friday by commoditiesnig(m): 2:44pm On May 21, 2024 |
chukel: it will do you well to properly inform yourself by going thru the 2024 budgetary provision for student loan. Where NELFUND Gets Its Money: 1% of all the taxes that the Federal Inland Revenue Service collects goes into a special fund. This fund is like NELFUND's bank account - it's where they get the money to give out as loans and to cover their operating costs.
For 2023, FIRS collected12.3 trillion naira as tax and revenue. 1% of this amount is 123 billion naira. So, in 2023, NELFUND's "bank account" would have been credited with 123 billion naira from the FIRS revenue. I hope you're clear on this. Thanks |
