money121: Ur cup of garri If u didn't like that statement u can hang transformer.. What brought that statement is that
He said he can't gamble with his 1.5m So am the one to gamble with materials worth 1.5m?
Oga if u can't resolve matter just keep ur mouth shout.. If dangote keep delivery his products without payment he will become Number 1 richest in Africa?
I showed off myself as if I force you to patronize me..
I still repeat who 1.5m Epp sef..
You remind me of cityhood.... LOUD, & GARRULOUS with an exaggerated sense of relevance.
I wouldnt trust you with a cent of My Money even if you have worked for sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed himself. If you're arrogant and foolish enough to be this openly abusive, then It no longer matters how many million reviews you have coaxed out of previous customers.
The true test of integrity will come when things go south and you have to choose between your customer's interest and yours. Not all this I supplied N100m without meeting the customer in person.Thats nothing special except to a fraud. It is going out of your way to do the right that sets you apart.
Nobody is asking you to agree to conditions you are not comfortable with in the first place , what they're telling you to do is have the commonsense to decline politely and engage courteously. Instead of coming here talking nonsense like some street urchin. How many 1.5m have you spent lately.
EgunMogaji: I respect your position but I continue to disagree that electrified fence is a logical thing to have in a residential neighborhood. Just as in elevated tanks, there are alternatives.
what alternative did you apply to elevated tanks in your own “ garage apartment” tell us……
EgunMogaji: Personally I think it’s criminal to erect this within 25 to 50 feet of a setback and especially as a first line of defense. But na Naija we dey, anything goes.
EgunMogaji: It is not a law that makes it irresponsible. You can't legislate morality. You can easily mount a first line of defence without risking the lives of people in the neighbourhood.Nigeria is not unique as you think. You want to sell stuff, I get it.
Man shut the fvck up already!!!! Jeeeezzz. The same electric fence that is used at US consular Residences in Nigeria abi which one? SMH , Are you just a sad old man or are you really sadistic . Anybody selling anything you cant afford gives you a hardon. It’s a public forum, not Egunmogaji’s forum.
EgunMogaji: I need nothing from you. This is a forum where people discuss things. You're peddling what I consider unsafe. In my opinion.
Who died and made you protector ? Peddling what “YOU” consider unsafe .LOL, who the fvck cares what you think is safe or isn’t, NOBODY gives half a fvck about your miserable opinion that you conveniently change per argument. there are adults here everybody is old enough to make rational decisions. you’re such a hypocrite…. Anything you cant afford or you don’t have , you come on here and trashtalk.
If Egunmogaji cannot afford Interlock or pavestones they’re nonsense
If Egunmogaji cannot install an electric fence…. It is criminal and insane and ilogical to do that. SMH
If Egunmogaji does not have money for Tank Stand….. It is an eyesore and a safety hazard. LOL, what a guy!!
Same guy yapping about upping the ante with electric fencing in the below thread just two years ago….
By now everybody kows that Egunmogaji argues just for the sake of winning arguments. Not because he believes in what ever trash point he’s trying to make. He just finds some kind of Sad fulfilment being a king online and winning e-wars. LOL
earthrealm: what you want is actually simple, i have seen it in action in VI, An ordinary sumo pump pumps water to an underground tank, another pump then takes it 3 storeys up to the small 300l to 500l presure tank with float valves, so the pump kicks in oce there is a pressure drop upto a certain preset value.
in your case, you can make it simpler, by removing the underground tank..and using a surface tank.the main koko is that you need 24/7 electricity to power the pumps...thus you need solar panels+inverter to ensure 24/7 electricity for the pumps...then you can also do well by buying energy saving/solar friendly pumps....
hv you considered rooftop tank placement?..its a little more easy on the eyes than the external 30ft tank stands.....i hate em too!
@goodfaith the bolded sums up what you need. the pump in question is called a booster pump, I think they are sometimes used in isolation, but you have to be certain your plumbing is 100% otherwise there could be leaks due to the high pressure.
the below is an illustration of such use in isolation.
diordaves: GoodFaith please face reality. I know this idea has been propounded here before and I think it is championed by Egunmogaji, but to tell you the truth, it's a difficult sell.
A solar pumping contraption is just a pumping machine that uses solar. You still need to solve the problem of good water pressure at home. You can't get good water pressure upstairs from a 4ft stand with our normal GeePee water tank. You would need a specialist pressure tank and a compressor.
So your solar pump will pump water into the pressure tank and the compressor will pressurize the tank enough to send water upstairs. This is less safe as there's the risk of explosion. Then there's the set up cost. This can set you back by 1m easily. The solar pump is going for N280k right? A 500Ltr pressure tank can go for N500k, then the compressor machine and running cost.
If this was a mental health issue like having a phobia of very tall free standing objects, I would say go for it with all you've got. But because you said it just for aesthetic, I would say it's not a good idea.
We should all strive to build a functional home. What's aesthetic without functionality.
Shugarlord213: Someone should help me out here, I met this dude online and he showed me a car Toyota Camry 2000 and that the car is going for 300k. Just that the only problem is the AC. That it needs to be refilled.
Some questions I need answered by my professionals here
1)How much does a AC Camry cost 2)is there any possibility that I am going to be scammed. Because the dude sounded so genuine
The car is in Ogun State meanwhile I told him I was at Lagos. (Am abt Edo)He even insisted I come for inspection. I no wan waste money and time
have you ever been kidnapped before? some of una no just get sense. you're looking for 300k camry. them go hold you, beat you until you use your ATM withdraw that your 300k which you obviously cannot deny having since you intend to purchase a car.
Flaghouse1: Just pissed off with our ways of doing things here, not that I am jumping into conclusion, the thing is the unit of measurement should have been uniformed and clearly spell out with the appropriate dimension (LxBxH) for easy comprehension for the client ,this to me is a red flag.
Thanks for your contribution in calming the OP
you're educated chief, you understand the relevance of detail and clarity. very many of these artisans arent, but they still do good work. they just try to deliver as much technical presentation as possible
EgunMogaji: I'm currently doing this in parts of my compound.
I chose to do regular concrete, not stamped but patterned, over interlock. With interlock, even if you use plastic membrane, sand can still gather on top of the membrane between the bricks and allow seeds to germinate. It will require constant maintenance.
You should consider your compound usage and amount of time you will use to maintain it.
Good luck on your decision.
he he he , my wife. you know I was definitely coming for you....
which one is "patterned" again this man wee not keeeee me with laugh!!! So what made you choose "patterned" over "stamped" abi the weed will grow through the stamped type of flooring again? stop providing silly explanations and speaking all this plenty English. will it kill you to simply say that is what you can afford?? ...well, with all the mouth making and bragging you have been doing up and down, it probably will. you pretend to not want attention but you crave it like air!!! who in the world posts flags up and down thier property like a f*cking parade ground, who!!??.... property wey never evn reach 50% completion. I wonder what you will post when you finally finish this your "Chateaux" lol as your friend Brrrrabus will say.
Egunmogajii be Humble , Be Humble My brother....Be Humble!!!!!!
Flaghouse1: The quote is very suspicious, note the following
1. What is 23.2 x2.4 =55.68sq -which unit of measurement is he using metres or feets ,what the guy just did was multiply the length of your sitting room which is 23.2 feet by 2.4metres which does not show uniformity, unless you want to tell us your sitting room is actually 23.2 metres by 2.4 metres, the implication of what he has done is to inflate the work area
2. The quantity of the materials are suspicious ,you can go to the market and sample prices of these items
Don't get reaped off !!!
Take it easy champ, no need to jump to conclusions just yet. there are atleast three to four walls in a living room, NOT "one"
an average living room easily exceeds 23m in perimeter
maingain: My sitting room is no where near 23 metres Thank you for this observation. This is more reason why one need to be paying more attention to details. I sincerely appreciate everyone contribution and will try not to get reaped off.
Dont be pushed into unneccessary paranoia.
there are four walls in your living room not one!! the dimension you speak of represents the entire perimeter of the said location which is multiplied by the height to give the total surface area to be screeded. so 23 meters will be the total length of all four (or three ) sides/walls for the living room. you dont even have to take his word for it. you have your building plans, read the dimensions for the given rooms and compare figures. what I am particularly curious about is why the height changes in some locations, and why 2.4m? thats pretty short for a ceiling. except your screeding height is less than the total height of the walls
as for execution, first and foremost make sure the guy is worth his onions before you even start stressing yourself about his quote or bargaining with him.If you are certain he can deliver the job to your satisfaction, bargain with him using the prices stated here as a general guide . but remember, these things are location specific, and quality of work and skill set also go a long way in determining prices
Don't comment for the sake of appearing to be in the know, you'll only be exposing your inadequacies. A few pages back someone mis-identified an MCB as something else and you were quick to Jump on the wagon and say that was correct, because he sounded to you like he knew what he was talking about. which would make me wonder..... what kind of Electrical guy cannot identify a friggin MCB!! I'm a bloody petroleum engineer but from passive learning and building, I can boast a tiny level of familiarity with some basic electrical components.
The kind of "professionals" we have in that country dey fear me.
abdulwastecx: Actually, the highlighted factor is a very important factor to consider when building in Nigeria. Also, we have our own peculiar problem especially in the coast like Lagos, PH and other coastal cities across the nation.
how many builders here have in the course of their entire career ever had to compute or factor the wind pressure for a design.
by peculiar problems I'm sure you're probably referring to swampy and waterlogged soils....How much flood adaption is implemented into the design of buildings in those areas ?
twinskenny: Yes it is very very possible won't advice the old type.of ceiling fans though.. like the one allcopacetic display those ones are not heavy....
Are you certain or just making assumptions. I have two large and one small and even the smallest of them weighs more than two regular fans put together.
true2home: Those that are not Civil Engineers think we are crazy when we go against the visible common sense theories that they believe is structural. But thats the money maker for us CE. We understand the principles that governs structure and it gives us economical advantage when we design homes.
Example; in one of my project, my roof design was less than 400K( wood and Long span Alumin). The roofer keep saying that the material wasn't going to be enough and i just told him to get the damn quantity i calculated. Guess what, we even had left over after the roofing was done.
I cant wait to relocate to Nigeria and expand my housing stock. lastly, Building in Nigeria is so Basic. Try building in a climate that has seismic and snow condition, then you will know that we are not building anything yet in Nigeria.
I swear !!!! extremely basic!!! alot of conditions and considerations typically factored into designing buildings in the west that africans dont need to worry our pretty heads about. wetin concern Naija builder with tremors, wind pressure, windblown snow infiltration etc
people don dey congratulate you left and right you don dey do anyhow abi.... You better declare surplus for the house!!! free bottles of anything you're drinking
dont faint o, faint bawo. so na ordinary 1m dey give you cardiac arrest, with all your multi-million dollar "Numerous Builds" you have erected, from sokoto to Timbuktu. Money wey no reach half of wetin some people pay Omonile before dey even carry digger enter site. LOL, you're a joke. I sorry for those unfortunate enough to work for you. Na sand them go chop, because person like you no go allow even sh!t drop from your body
ice4u999: Don't blame those in Nigeria for thinking they way they do because those of us overseas painted the picture that money grow on tree abroad. What or how do you expect them think? When people come here to run their mouth telling people how they pump millions into Nigeria monthly from overseas or how they will import the whole of America into Nigeria. Example look at Erico (my oga nor vex say I call you into this matter), no one has ever called him out because he respects himself but EgunMogaji must attack others on their on thread, insult others then come to this thread to form holy father and then dig himself into grave (by saying things those of us overseas know that he can't achieve and then try to dig himself out). So tell why won't people call him out? Then when people call him out his gang members will come together to suspend your account.
If anybody want to report and suspend my account because of this comment and for future insult, please do because it will help my data.
this man don finish Egunmogaji. you sound like you have written and properly defended a thesis on this eyan mayweather. lol
Dude is a clown walai. I constantly look forward to reading his newest ludicrous claims and braggery (if I may invent the word )
Idealer: My brother, I bring the question up because one pro for Naija claim say na big issue for something like that even though my younger bro guarantee me say na nothing; say him do see things wey pass that one self for him backyard . I know say we sabi do am pass but I jus dey wonder why the first pro first complain. Na wetin dey inside?
a good design and the right hands are all it takes
Idealer: You know I could ask the same exact question about some States in the US and I will be given challenges like (1) Raw material (2) cost etc because every where is unique. No one would have taken it as condescending. And no one would have classified me as "you people"
Haba bros, e never reach like that na. My opening comments were more for humour than anything else. in response to your opening sentence, I realy cant think of any other key materials that could possibly be required other than steel members and concrete which are not exactly out of the ordinary
prince3009: I used to think that the fact people's comment on Nairaland has alot of connection to their moniker was just mere coincidence but with this, I know it is not. Your moniker is what you are.
as much i'd hate to knock thier hustle, I wont let them do that to my car. For starters you don't know what kind of detergent that is and how much damage it can do to your paintwork. secondly there's going to be a reasonable amount of soap residue after the sprinkle-rinsing... you cannot possibly rinse a car properly with one small bucket of water. I'd rather just dash them money.
Idealer: What will be the challenges of this catliver in Nigeria?
LOL, na wa o. you people make it look like our beloved Nigeria is exceptionally different. I dont think the laws of physics apply any differently over there. As with any other part of the world, challenge will be a poor design or execution.
allCopacetic: Overall, there are NO REAL benefits obtainable from the choice of Half conduit over Full conduit.
Technically, the only advantage that half conduit can truly provide, is a shorter installation time. (Which doesn't really count if two or three days don't make a world of difference to you). Half conduiting is faster for both piping and cabling stages. In the piping stage you save time by avoiding the ceiling piping altogether, while during the wiring stage , you do less cable fishing and more cable “flying”
The savings assumed to be gotten from eliminating the ceiling piping is only superficial, because in the end it is lost to the extra cost of using a more expensive wire type (pvc insulated/pvc sheated) and sometimes greater wire quanitity.
The correct wire type for a half conduit installation is the multi-core flat cable (pvc insulated/pvc sheated) which is also called “surface wire”. The pvc sheathing on surface wires exist as protection over the pvc insulation, which is what makes them safer for use in open air. It is very dangerous to use single core wires (pvc insulated) and leave them exposed in roofing spaces.
with regards to increased wire quantity, that scenario will occur during the looping of sockets "IF" you have a half conduit installation where there is no ground piping. Sockets are mounted at a height of about 450mm above finished floor level, so to loop two sockets in the same or different rooms together , the wires will have to go all the way up to the ceiling, then across the room, and then down to the socket. As opposed to ground path (going down to the floor, then across the room, then up to the socket .) which is shorter, since the sockets are closer to the ground than they are to the ceiling.
So, If for a standard three bedroom flat, the difference in the pipe requirement between these two systems is about a bundle, (Which costs between N2,500 and N7,500 depending on the quality and size you buy). It means you are risking the numerous disadvantages of the half conduit system in an attempt to save less than N10,000 (which of course will not be possible if you factor the extra cost you will incure via the more expensive cable type and possibly greater cable length).
In a nutshell, Half Conduit is economically and functionally unfavourable.
