My grandmum told me Ikwerres are not Igbos. She however said they shared a lot in common. My dad said they were never Igbos before and after the war. He continued that before the war the intimidation of the Igbos in Port Harcourt was so much that the average Ikwerre man risk being killed to disagree he was an Igbo man.
