Through these efforts, the Foundation aims to alleviate the financial burdens faced by families and make a meaningful impact on the lives of young learners in the community. |
Oke-Ero, Ekiti LGs unsafe, KSYC seeks KWSG intervention amidst infrastructure deficit, security threat The Kwara South Youth Congress (KSYC) has ramped up its efforts to communicate with Mallam Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq, the Executive Governor of Kwara State, about the pressing issues related to infrastructure that continue to affect communities across the state. In a comprehensive press statement delivered to journalists in Ilorin, the organization underscored the urgent need for improvements in public amenities and facilities in Oke Ero and Ekiti local government areas respectively. The Publicity Secretary of KSYC, Adejare Bashir, highlighted several areas of concern, particularly focusing on the deteriorating infrastructure in communities across the two local government. Bashir detailed how poor road conditions, inadequate healthcare facilities, and insufficient educational resources are severely impacting the quality of life for residents. The group emphasized the necessity for the state government to prioritize these issues in its upcoming development plans to ensure the welfare and progress of the local communities. According to Bashir " the roads in the Ilofa, the headquarters of Oke Ero LG is in dire needs, particularly the major roads which connects Ilofa to Odo-owa town which is now a shadow of itself, its a sad experience for resident of this communities, we are appealing to Kwara State governor, mallam Abdulrasaq Abdulrahman to consider uplifting this roads for viability. Bashir highlighted that Kajola, which is interconnected with the community of Odo-Owa, is facing a significant lack of basic amenities, particularly in healthcare. The primary health center (PHC) in Odo-Owa, which serves the surrounding communities, is deteriorating and nearing a state of disrepair. The Kwara State Government is encouraged to take action to upgrade and revitalize this essential facility to better serve the residents in these areas. The Idofins region, which includes the towns of Idofin-Odo Ashe, Idofin-Odo Aga, and Idofin-Ayekale, is facing significant challenges due to the absence of basic amenities and governmental support. These three major communities in the area are struggling without any government presence, leaving them reliant solely on the Primary Healthcare Centre (PHC), which is severely lacking in both qualified staff and essential medical equipment. It is disheartening to note that many schools in these communities are non-operational, primarily due to a shortage of qualified teachers and adequate classroom facilities. The situation calls for urgent attention, and we are appealing to the state government to extend the benefits of good governance to this region, ensuring that the residents receive the services and support they desperately need. In a similar plea for assistance, Bashir's KYSC is advocating for governmental intervention in communities such as Osi, Araromi amd others, considering the presence of Kwasu campus in n the area. The reality for many towns within this local government area is grim, as the majority lack access to clean drinking water, adequate road infrastructure, and reliable public schools. The community members are grappling with the everyday challenges of these deficiencies, which hinder their quality of life. Bashir expressed a heartfelt hope that the state government will heed the voices and struggles of the residents, as it is crucial for their wellbeing and development. He concluded with an earnest appeal for the government to recognize and address the urgent needs of these underserved communities,Bashir concluded. In what has now become an alarming and distressing reality, the safety of lives and properties within our local government area is increasingly compromised. Over the past month alone, there have been more than 15 reported cases of kidnapping along the Obbo Ayegunle-Osi expressway. The residents of Kwara South are living in a state of palpable fear and apprehension. While we recognize that security challenges are a nationwide concern, Kwara has long been celebrated as a state of harmony and peace. It is imperative for the government to take robust actions to ensure the protection of its citizens, as these kidnappers seem to be integrating themselves into our communities. We earnestly urge the state government and various security agencies to act decisively in ridding our lands of these criminals. In a particularly troubling incident that occurred on Sunday, another woman in her 40s, along with her two children, was reported missing in the Ekiti Local Government area. This heinous act of violence and wickedness must come to an end. We are pleading on behalf of our community for enhanced measures and a renewed commitment to safeguarding our lives and properties. It is essential for the government to provide us with assurances of safety in both Kwara South and the wider Kwara State. The time for action is now; our collective peace of mind depends on it. |

*Press Statement: I did not declare for Kwara South Senatorial Seat, Ignore agents of doom - MOK* My attention has been drawn to a purported press release that is expected to circulate within the next 24 hours. The authors of this leaked press release have falsely claimed that I, Muhydeen Okunlola Kayode, have declared my intention to run for the Kwara South Senatorial Seat. As a Nigerian who is keenly aware of the complexities and nuances of our political landscape, I want to categorically state that I have never met with anyone nor communicated to any group my desire to contest for any political position, whether in the Senate, the House of Representatives, or elsewhere. I understand the pressures faced by those who may feel threatened by my commitments and contributions to society. It’s crucial to acknowledge that the impactful work I have undertaken—both personally and collectively through my MOK Foundation—stems from a genuine desire to give back to the community that raised me, rather than being driven by political ambitions. I must reiterate that, as of today, I am not a card-carrying member of any political party in Nigeria. Any assistance or support I have provided to individuals in the political sphere has been rooted in personal relationships and mutual respect, devoid of any political affiliations or motivations. That being said, I want to emphasize that any attempts to disseminate or publish information that uses my name without my explicit consent or that of my team will be regarded as a serious offense and will be addressed legally, in accordance with the laws of our nation, as highlighted in the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. I am committed to my mission of fostering a positive and conducive environment for all, and I firmly believe that no amount of manipulation or coercive tactics aimed at influencing public opinion will deter my efforts. I will continue to advocate for the betterment of our community, embodying the principles of coexistence and support and allowing others to thrive alongside me. Live and let others live. Signed: QS. A prominent pro-democracy youth organization in Kwara South, known as the Kwara South Youth Congress, is urgently calling on the Kwara State Government to initiate round-table negotiations with the kidnappers who are holding victims in the region. This plea comes from the group's spokesperson, Adejare Bashir, who issued a press statement earlier today in Ilorin. The statement highlights a series of alarming incidents, noting that just five days after a tragic kidnapping event on the Obbo Ayegunle expressway, another kidnapping occurred in Isanlu Isin. Bashir emphasized the necessity for the government to take immediate action for the sake of the victims and their families, stating that the kidnappers are reportedly demanding ransoms ranging from 5 million to 15 million naira. "The Kwara State Government must intervene at this critical juncture to restore peace and sanity to Kwara," Bashir asserted. Bashir further expressed grave concerns about the safety of the individuals who are currently held captive. "Their lives are in serious jeopardy. We engage with their families daily, and it's evident they feel utterly helpless," he remarked. He reiterated the importance of government involvement: "A round-table negotiation with the kidnappers could significantly improve the chances of a positive outcome for the victims." Additionally, Bashir addressed the situation of the Offa travelers, who were kidnapped on the 20th of this month. "It has now been over seven days since these victims were abducted, and their whereabouts remain unknown, despite previous assurances from government and security personnel," he lamented. He stated that the prolonged absence of clarity regarding the victims' condition is distressing for their families, highlighting how helpless they have become. He ultimately warned that Kwara South is quickly becoming a perilous area for its citizens, standing as a threat to communal safety. “The government and security forces must intensify their efforts to secure the release of those in captivity and to restore a sense of normalcy and security to Kwara South and Kwara State as a whole,” Bashir concluded emphatically. |
’Numero uno’ Bukola Saraki Who AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq Has Unsuccessfully Sought To Break His Record By Mohammad Soliu Abdulateef's Ignorance: A Reflection of AbdulRazaq's Governance Style" "From Harmony to Chaos: A Comparison of Saraki and AbdulRazaq’s Poor Leadership’ *The Epitome of Ignorance* It has become apparent that only those who lack intellectual rigor can serve under Governor AbdulRazaq and a recent article by Ibrahim Abdulateef, the governor’s SSA on Communication, lends credence to this. He demonstrated a profound lack of understanding about Senator Bukola Saraki- the most prominent Kwara politician. *Saraki's Commitment To Good Governance* Senator Saraki's decision to rebuild the opposition party, despite being a highly respected and sought-after politician across party lines, has shown his commitment to the growth and development of the country. It is normal for the unreasonable governor’s aide, Abdulateef to start feeling the heat of Saraki's decisions considering the fact that the Governor AbdulRazaq administration has been marked by controversy, including the imposition of chairmen across the 16 local governments despite widespread rejection. *The Pot Calling the Kettle Black* Abdulateef's article, in which he labeled Senator Saraki as a "general without troops," ironically highlights the Governor's own struggles with leadership and unity in his party. What is intriguing is Abdulrazaq’s fixation and mania for Saraki , however, many well-meaning people have noticed this and had since continued not to attach importance to whatever the governor or his ‘boys’ write about Saraki. Truth be told, Saraki has etched his name in history when it comes to the growth and advancement of democracy in the country, he has continued to stand on the side of the people, if it has been all about personal interest or acquisition of wealth, Saraki would have hobnob with them and even have Abdulrazaq displaced cognizant of his ‘political stature’. It's undeniable that Senator Saraki is a seasoned politician with unparalleled experience and achievements, including his tenure as Senate President and his impact on Nigerian politics. *The Achievements of a Real Leader: A Legacy of Stability & Development* The achievements of Senator Saraki far surpass that of Governor AbdulRazaq. While the Ramoni administration is marred by insecurity and poor governance, Senator Saraki's legacy includes bringing stability and harmony to Kwara State. His leadership was characterized by relative peace, development projects, and institutions like the Kwara State University, Vocational Center, Aviation College, and Diagnostic Centre -not Terrorism and Kidnapping. *The Harsh Reality of AbdulRazaq's Hypocrisy, Rejection and Incompetence* If Senator Bukola Saraki used the Presidency's rejection of Governor AbdulRazaq, accompanied by APC's expulsion of AbdulRazaq and his entire cabinet, as his demand before he can defect to the Ruling Party, the Presidency and APC leadership wouldn't waste any time in granting Senator Saraki's demands in order to have him in their midst. That showcases the extreme value of Senator Bukola Saraki over the hypocritical, deceptive AbdulRazaq AbdulRahman, whose political trick is well understood by the Presidency and APC functionaries. *The Blind Leading the Blind* It's clear that Abdulateef and his leader AbdulRazaq are struggling to comprehend the ‘political stature’ of Senator Bukola Saraki. While they attempt to belittle him, Senator Saraki's influence and respect across party lines remain unmatched. The Ramoni administration has been plagued by Terrorism, Kidnapping, internal conflicts, lack of support from party members, and a failure to address pressing issues. While I am not suprised with the general conduct of Abdullateef with his asslicking role for AbdulRazaq, I know this unholy marriage will end soon, because if Abdullateef can disparage everyone who had helped his life in the past such as Alhaji Lukman Mustapha who picked him from his former job as a sales boy at Ita-Amodu where he sells pillows and train him through school but turned around to use the same knowledge gotten by him from the investment of Alhaji Lukman Mustapha in his life to abuse the same Alhaji Lukman Mustapha, then why must Abdullateef's case baffle anyone? *A Distraction from Ramoni's Failure* Rather than engaging in petty criticisms, Abdulateef and his leader, Ramoni should focus on addressing pressing issues in the state. Senator Bukola Saraki's contribution to Nigerian politics is undeniable, and his decision to rebuild the opposition party is driven by the desire for good governance and accountability. *A Lesson from the Past* The likes of Abdulateef and AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq would do well to learn from Senator Bukola Saraki's leadership and Outstanding legacy. Instead of wasting energy on blackmail and unreasonable articles, they should prioritize the welfare of Kwara State and its people. The comparison between Senator Saraki's achievements and Governor AbdulRazaq's failures is stark, and it's clear who the more valuable politician is. Need it be put on record this is the last free pass to importance that Abdullateef will get based off these trsposese given to him, anything credited to him shall not be dignified with any response anymore *Mohammad Soliu Writes From The Emirates* |
In an initiative aimed at supporting farmers with effective pest control and optimal harvesting practices, the MOK Foundation for Community Development has commenced the distribution of essential agricultural chemicals and sprayers in 2025. This effort specifically targets farmers across various communities situated in Kwara South and Kwara North as they prepare for the impending farming season with the arrival of the rains. Alhaji Tunde Salahudeen, the coordinator of the Agricultural Initiatives at the MOK Foundation, elaborated on the reasons for the delayed distribution, citing setbacks such as unpredictable weather patterns and the late onset of rain. "We have been diligently pursuing this initiative for nearly two years now," he stated. "In the past, we have successfully reached numerous communities, but this current distribution represents a more extensive outreach to agrarian communities in both Kwara North and Kwara South." Alhaji Tunde emphasized the importance of this collaboration, as it facilitates a more organized and effective distribution process. My encounter with MOK, a tireless helper By Magaji Baraka Eniola, Esq After the 2023 General Election, my hopes for a brighter future seemed to fade away. As a devoted Ilorin lady, I poured my heart and soul into canvassing, supporting, and collaborating with my preferred candidates at various stages of the electoral process. I firmly believe that with our collective efforts, a greater Kwara is not just a dream, but a possibility. However, while promises were plentiful and assurances were made, the reality that followed was far from what had been promised. It was a difficult moment, but I knew I had to move on, reflecting on my own potential and the future that lay ahead. Last year was particularly challenging for me. Like many, I found myself ensnared in a web of financial struggle, struggling to meet my daily needs while juggling personal responsibilities and caring for my children. This difficult period was exacerbated by my recent divorce from my husband for personal reasons, followed by his unexpected job loss. The stress weighed heavily on my family, and I felt lost. In search of support, I confided in a close friend about my circumstances. During our conversation, he mentioned a man named MOK for the first time. Intrigued, I learned that MOK was known for his philanthropic efforts towards the needy. My friend provided me with the contact information of someone he believed was close to MOK and wished me luck in seeking assistance, as I truly needed it at that moment. I reached out to the contact person, sharing my plight. He listened attentively, and during that conversation, a realization struck me: I had created something valuable for one of the candidates I supported, which could potentially benefit the MOK Foundation. I proposed selling the item to the foundation at a reduced price, hoping it would ease some of my financial burdens. The young man assured me, “Madam, I will speak with MOK, and I will get back to you in a few days.” Hearing that filled me with a newfound sense of hope. A few days later, he contacted me, and we agreed on a price, but then disaster struck—the individuals who had the items I was hoping to sell had absconded with them. The deal fell through, and I was left feeling disheartened. Throughout this time, I hadn’t yet had the chance to connect directly with MOK himself; he had no knowledge of my situation, which bewildered me. Despite the setbacks, I refused to give up. I continued to reach out to the gentleman who had been my point of contact. He was responsive, offering me updates on the situation. On a few occasions, he even sent me amounts like 10,000 or 20,000 naira from his own pocket. I cannot express how grateful I am to him; may Allah bless him now and in the future. As the year progressed, things took a turn when my daughter fell severely ill. She was admitted to the hospital, and we faced the daunting reality of needing to raise hundreds of thousands of naira to cover her surgery fees. In desperation, I reached out to the same gentleman, hoping he could assist again. He promised to get back to me, and despite my anxieties, I held on to hope. In an incredible twist of fate, 80 percent of my daughter’s surgery fees were graciously covered by Alhaji Muhydeen Okunlola Kayode—a man I had never spoken to, a complete stranger with no prior connection to me. I can only express my heartfelt gratitude to him; may Allah never forsake him. After my daughter’s successful operation, the gentleman continued to check in on her health, often sending 10,000 or 20,000 naira at random intervals on behalf of MOK. His kindness during such a trying time reassured me that there are still compassionate people in the world. It has now been a month since my daughter returned to her daily activities, vibrant, strong, excited, and full of life. My heart is filled with gratitude for Alhaji Muhydeen Okunlola Kayode and his family. This journey has reaffirmed my belief that "come rain, come shine," I will forever hold him dear in my heart, as a symbol of hope and the kindness of humanity. If you ever come across this piece, please offer a prayer for Alhaji Muhydeen Okunlola Kayode (MOK). |

KSYC writes KWSG, says towns in Oke-Ero Lg needs government intervention The Kwara South Youth Congress (KSYC) has ramped up its efforts to communicate with Mallam Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq, the Executive Governor of Kwara State, about the pressing issues related to infrastructure that continue to affect communities across the state. In a comprehensive press statement delivered to journalists in Ilorin, the organization underscored the urgent need for improvements in public amenities and facilities. The Publicity Secretary of KSYC, Adejare Bashir, highlighted several areas of concern, particularly focusing on the deteriorating infrastructure in the Oke Ero Local Government Area. In a similar plea for assistance, Bashir's KYSC is advocating for governmental intervention in communities such as Ekan Meje, Ilale, Ekannla, and Erinmope. |
