The Idofins region, which includes the towns of Idofin-Odo Ashe, Idofin-Odo Aga, and Idofin-Ayekale, is facing significant challenges due to the absence of basic amenities and governmental support. These three major communities in the area are struggling without any government presence, leaving them reliant solely on the Primary Healthcare Centre (PHC), which is severely lacking in both qualified staff and essential medical equipment. The statement highlights a series of alarming incidents, noting that just five days after a tragic kidnapping event on the Obbo Ayegunle expressway, another kidnapping occurred in Isanlu Isin. Bashir emphasized the necessity for the government to take immediate action for the sake of the victims and their families, stating that the kidnappers are reportedly demanding ransoms ranging from 5 million to 15 million naira. "The Kwara State Government must intervene at this critical juncture to restore peace and sanity to Kwara," Bashir asserted.

Bashir further expressed grave concerns about the safety of the individuals who are currently held captive. "Their lives are in serious jeopardy. We engage with their families daily, and it's evident they feel utterly helpless," he remarked. Additionally, Bashir addressed the situation of the Offa travelers, who were kidnapped on the 20th of this month. "It has now been over seven days since these victims were abducted, and their whereabouts remain unknown, despite previous assurances from government and security personnel," he lamented. He stated that the prolonged absence of clarity regarding the victims' condition is distressing for their families, highlighting how helpless they have become.

He ultimately warned that Kwara South is quickly becoming a perilous area for its citizens, standing as a threat to communal safety. “The government and security forces must intensify their efforts to secure the release of those in captivity and to restore a sense of normalcy and security to Kwara South and Kwara State as a whole,” Bashir concluded emphatically.

It is normal for the unreasonable governor’s aide, Abdulateef to start feeling the heat of Saraki's decisions considering the fact that the Governor AbdulRazaq administration has been marked by controversy, including the imposition of chairmen across the 16 local governments despite widespread rejection.

Abdulateef's article, in which he labeled Senator Saraki as a "general without troops," ironically highlights the Governor's own struggles with leadership and unity in his party.

"We have been diligently pursuing this initiative for nearly two years now," he stated. My encounter with MOK, a tireless helper

After the 2023 General Election, my hopes for a brighter future seemed to fade away. As a devoted Ilorin lady, I poured my heart and soul into canvassing, supporting, and collaborating with my preferred candidates at various stages of the electoral process. I firmly believe that with our collective efforts, a greater Kwara is not just a dream, but a possibility. However, while promises were plentiful and assurances were made, the reality that followed was far from what had been promised. It was a difficult moment, but I knew I had to move on, reflecting on my own potential and the future that lay ahead.

Last year was particularly challenging for me. Like many, I found myself ensnared in a web of financial struggle, struggling to meet my daily needs while juggling personal responsibilities and caring for my children. This difficult period was exacerbated by my recent divorce from my husband for personal reasons, followed by his unexpected job loss. The stress weighed heavily on my family, and I felt lost. In search of support, I confided in a close friend about my circumstances. During our conversation, he mentioned a man named MOK for the first time.

Intrigued, I learned that MOK was known for his philanthropic efforts towards the needy. My friend provided me with the contact information of someone he believed was close to MOK and wished me luck in seeking assistance, as I truly needed it at that moment.

I reached out to the contact person, sharing my plight. He listened attentively, and during that conversation, a realization struck me: I had created something valuable for one of the candidates I supported, which could potentially benefit the MOK Foundation. I proposed selling the item to the foundation at a reduced price, hoping it would ease some of my financial burdens. The young man assured me, “Madam, I will speak with MOK, and I will get back to you in a few days.” Hearing that filled me with a newfound sense of hope.

A few days later, he contacted me, and we agreed on a price, but then disaster struck—the individuals who had the items I was hoping to sell had absconded with them. The deal fell through, and I was left feeling disheartened. Throughout this time, I hadn’t yet had the chance to connect directly with MOK himself; he had no knowledge of my situation, which bewildered me.

Despite the setbacks, I refused to give up. I continued to reach out to the gentleman who had been my point of contact. He was responsive, offering me updates on the situation. On a few occasions, he even sent me amounts like 10,000 or 20,000 naira from his own pocket. I cannot express how grateful I am to him; may Allah bless him now and in the future.

As the year progressed, things took a turn when my daughter fell severely ill. She was admitted to the hospital, and we faced the daunting reality of needing to raise hundreds of thousands of naira to cover her surgery fees. In desperation, I reached out to the same gentleman, hoping he could assist again. He promised to get back to me, and despite my anxieties, I held on to hope.

In an incredible twist of fate, 80 percent of my daughter’s surgery fees were graciously covered by Alhaji Muhydeen Okunlola Kayode—a man I had never spoken to, a complete stranger with no prior connection to me. I can only express my heartfelt gratitude to him; may Allah never forsake him.

After my daughter’s successful operation, the gentleman continued to check in on her health, often sending 10,000 or 20,000 naira at random intervals on behalf of MOK. His kindness during such a trying time reassured me that there are still compassionate people in the world.

It has now been a month since my daughter returned to her daily activities, vibrant, strong, excited, and full of life. My heart is filled with gratitude for Alhaji Muhydeen Okunlola Kayode and his family. This journey has reaffirmed my belief that "come rain, come shine," I will forever hold him dear in my heart, as a symbol of hope and the kindness of humanity. Kwara South Youth Congress has reacted to the recent kidnapping incident involving individuals traveling from Abuja to Offa at Osi-Obbo Ayegunle in Kwara State. The Acting President of the group, Dr. OluwatobiAfolayan, expressed concern over the security situation in Kwara South and urged the government to take urgent action. In a press statement made available to press men in Ilorin, Afolayan sympathizes with the victims family over the unfortunate incident, he prays for safe returns of those in captive.


Dr. Afolayan commended the security agents for their prompt response to the kidnapping incident upon the release of three child from captivity in less than 24 hours after the incident occurred. "We appreciate the efforts of our security agents in responding to the kidnapping incident," he said. "Their bravery and professionalism are a testament to their commitment to protecting lives and property." However, we urge the security personnel in collaboration with state actors to bring about a permanent solution to the continuous occurrence of kidnapping cases in Kwara South, most especially in Ekiti LG.

Afolayan also emphasized the need for improved security measures in Kwara South. "While we appreciate the efforts of security agents, we urge the government to take urgent action to tighten up security in Kwara South," our people are living with fear, as the raining season approaches, our parents in the villages are not ready for farming because they are being surrounded by kidnappers. "The recent kidnapping incident is a wake-up call for us to review our security architecture and take proactive measures to prevent future incidents." Afolayan said.

On behalf of the leadership and members of Kwara South Youth Congress, we made recommendations to improve security in the region, including:

- Increased Deployment of Security Personnel: The group called for increased deployment of security personnel to high-risk areas in Kwara South, most especially the Ekiti Kwara axis, a temporary military base will also help in fumigating kidnappers out of our region.
- Improved Intelligence Gathering: The group emphasized the need for improved intelligence gathering and sharing among security agencies to prevent kidnapping and other security incidents. Communication link between the people, agent and government should be established
- Community Engagement: The group also called for increased community engagement and outreach programs to build trust between security agencies and local communities.

We call on the Kwara State Government to take immediate action to implement these recommendations to improve security in Kwara South," Dr. Afolayan said. "We need a thorough review of our security architecture and proactive measures to prevent future incidents, the statement concluded.

The MOK Foundation is set to begin food distribution to Kwarans this Saturday. This initiative is part of the foundation's efforts to support vulnerable communities and promote food security in Kwara State.

According to the Executive Director of the foundation, Mr. Lawal Saheed " the scheduled food distribution is part of our consistent program, we have been doing it every year since our establishment, it won't be different this time, we are to make sure the food distribution gets to the vulnerable who needs it".

The food distribution program aims to reach the most vulnerable members of the community, including widows, orphans, people with disabilities, and low-income households. KSYC writes KWSG, says towns in Oke-Ero Lg needs government intervention

The Kwara South Youth Congress (KSYC) has ramped up its efforts to communicate with Mallam Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq, the Executive Governor of Kwara State, about the pressing issues related to infrastructure that continue to affect communities across the state. In a comprehensive press statement delivered to journalists in Ilorin, the organization underscored the urgent need for improvements in public amenities and facilities.

The Publicity Secretary of KSYC, Adejare Bashir, highlighted several areas of concern, particularly focusing on the deteriorating infrastructure in the Oke Ero Local Government Area. Bashir detailed how poor road conditions, inadequate healthcare facilities, and insufficient educational resources are severely impacting the quality of life for residents. The group emphasized the necessity for the state government to prioritize these issues in its upcoming development plans to ensure the welfare and progress of the local communities.

According to Bashir " the roads in the Ilofa, the headquarters of Oke Ero LG is in dire needs, particularly the major roads which connects Ilofa to Odo-owa town which is now a shadow of itself, its a sad experience for resident of this communities, we are appealing to Kwara State governor, mallam Abdulrasaq Abdulrahman to consider uplifting this roads for viability.
Bashir highlighted that Kajola, which is interconnected with the community of Odo-Owa, is facing a significant lack of basic amenities, particularly in healthcare. The primary health center (PHC) in Odo-Owa, which serves the surrounding communities, is deteriorating and nearing a state of disrepair. The Kwara State Government is encouraged to take action to upgrade and revitalize this essential facility to better serve the residents in these areas.

The Idofins region, which includes the towns of Idofin-Odo Ashe, Idofin-Odo Aga, and Idofin-Ayekale, is facing significant challenges due to the absence of basic amenities and governmental support. These three major communities in the area are struggling without any government presence, leaving them reliant solely on the Primary Healthcare Centre (PHC), which is severely lacking in both qualified staff and essential medical equipment. It is disheartening to note that many schools in these communities are non-operational, primarily due to a shortage of qualified teachers and adequate classroom facilities. The situation calls for urgent attention, and we are appealing to the state government to extend the benefits of good governance to this region, ensuring that the residents receive the services and support they desperately need.

In a similar plea for assistance, Bashir's KYSC is advocating for governmental intervention in communities such as Ekan Meje, Ilale, Ekannla, and Erinmope. The reality for many towns within this local government area is grim, as the majority lack access to clean drinking water, adequate road infrastructure, and reliable public schools. The community members are grappling with the everyday challenges of these deficiencies, which hinder their quality of life. Bashir expressed a heartfelt hope that the state government will heed the voices and struggles of the residents, as it is crucial for their wellbeing and development. Speaking at the event, the leader of the group, Mr. Tajudeen Oyeyemi assured the beneficiaries of the founder's foresight in making sure that everyone counts "what we are doing today is not new, we have been doing it every year, we won't stop, it's just a reassurance that Alhaji Muhydeen Okunlola Kayode is a cheerful giver" Oyeyemi concluded.
