Rashford is a spent force in the England team, he should be substituted.

What happened to Saka?
Rashford delivered two dangerous crosses into the box that almost resulted in a goal for Bellingham and another for Harry Kane. England's problem is the midfield and Central defense.

Terrible defending from the England Centre Backs. They left the middle open thereby dragging Spence away from the RB position.

Norway's goalkeeper get mind oo. He requested for a wall of just about two men and still ended up making a world class save. Wow!!!

I was shocked when I went through the Dutch line up and noticed Koeman was starting with 5 defence and only De Jong and Gravenberg in midfield
He inadvertently set the team up to fail. I don't know what he was thinking. No wonder Gravernbech looked so lost in that match. I was even more shocked when he brought on Koopmeiners and sent him to the defense instead of midfield.

How can you have Tijani Reinders on the bench and choose to go with 2 midfielders instead of three?
Sports › Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by COOL10(m): 5:53pm On Jun 30
Koeman messed up big time. How can you play a 5-4-1 against Morocco, leaving only Frenkie and Gravernbech in the midfield?

I like your submission but you did not take the Brazilian coach strategic changes into consideration those changes did alot of damage to the Japan defence. Ancelotti is facing these Japanese coach for the second time since he took the Brazil job,The first time Japan came from behind to beat Brazil in a friendly if the Japanese coach decides to defend from deep I believe he has its reason although it did not play out well.
Don't get me wrong. I'm not taking anything away from "The Don" Ancelotti. I respect that man a lot, and you're right, he made strategic changes but they came in the second half. My point is Japan could have scored at least one more goal in the first half if they didn't sit back after the first goal. They have the quality to do so.

Brazil were always going to wake up no matter what, so why not score as many goals as you can when they're weak and vulnerable? 🤷🏽‍♂️

I watched the game. Up until the HT whistle Japan was more dominant in attack.

However, sometimes football doesn’t let you choose what to do. You play according to how the game has played out.

When a world class team like Brazil in good form have conceded a goal in the first half in a crucial match, you expect the 2nd to be a tight game played mostly in your half.

A European team would have taken that game into extra time. Japan in their quest to move the ball forward ended up conceding goals.
Lol, I watched the game as well, and I have watched every Brazilian game in this world cup so far. This Brazilian team is not world class in any way, shape or form, and this is coming from a huge fan of Brazil (me). This present Brazilian team is average and the players crack under pressure.

You see that expectation you mentioned, that's exactly what destroyed the Japanese. They gave too much respect to an average Brazilian team. Even a Secondary school team will develop confidence if a better team decides to sit back against them.

There's a time to defend and it definitely doesn't start from the 29th minute after scoring your first goal. That Japanese coach needs to apologise to the whole of Japan for making his incredible technically gifted players look ordinary against an average Brazilian team.

Japan's own is different. Brazil forced them into the defending in the 2nd half. They simply could not play end-to-end football with Brazil. Infact that's exactly what caused them the loss. One of their defenders was trying to hold the ball and set up attack and was dispossessed.

If he was being the defensive he would have kicked the ball out of play.
Bro, Japan INTENTIONALLY started defending after scoring in the 29th minute. grin

They invited the pressure upon themselves. Brazil did not come alive until the second half when they started putting multiple crosses into the box.

Japan stopped applying pressure after scoring one goal and that's what destroyed them. The current Brazilian players are not as technical as the Japanese players. I don't know why people keep underating Japan. Those people dey ball even with their short height.

If the Japanese continued applying pressure, they would have scored at least three goals before Brazil woke up.

His players let him down. From VVD not picking up Issa Diop to let in that equalizer and the terrible PKs the player played.

Not a coaching problem.
The only reason they found themselves in that position is because Koeman set up the team in a totally different way than they're used to. The Netherlands are known to play possessive, rapid attacking football and not the defensive nonsense we just watched.

They have more than enough players to play exciting football and they did so in their group stage matches. Who is in the Moroccan defense that Gakpo, Brobbey, Summerville, Malen, Kluivert, Gravernbech, Dumfries and Tijani Reinders can't score multiple goals against?

They approached the game with a defensive mindset and that's definitely a coaching problem. Koeman just insulted the Netherlands' football identity with his stupid defensive tactics.

The same nonsense happened with Japan yesterday evening. Great technical players who were ridiculed by their coach's irrational defensive tactics.

Koeman has destroyed Netherlands.

How can you set up a Netherlands team to play defensively? What kind of nonsense is that? That was how he almost destroyed Barcelona's style of play with his nonsense football. He should be sacked and retire from there abeg.
