Interesting Tennis for the remaining year - Wimbledon Open (Grand Slam) starts 24th June Montreal Masters (ATP 1000)starts 5th August Cincinnati Masters (ATP 1000) starts 11th August US Open (Grand Slam) starts 26th August China Open & Japan Open (ATP 500) both starts on 30th September Shanghai Open (ATP masters 1000) starts 6th October Valencia Spain & Swiss Open (ATP 500) both starts 21st October Paris Open (ATP Masters 1000) starts 28th October Barclays ATP World Tour Finals starts 4th November with the grand prize of $6m for an exclusive list of the TOP 8 ranked players i have exluded some few ATP 500 which are not usually attended by the top 5 guys and all ATP 250. i follow only a few of them. |
luvmijeje: On clay! Yes he is best but on other surface nah.Thats a wrong conclusion. Nadal has played in the wimbledon final (grass) - 5 times, winning 2ce and losing 2ce to Federer and 1ce to Novak. If he isnt good he wont be playing in the finals and has beaten federer in one of the epic matches of this open era on that court. On the hard court, he's played at the US and Aussie Opens twice each winning one and losing one. Only a good player gets to a Slam final. Apart from Grand Slams, the ATP masters, he's won st Miami, Indian Wells, Montreal, Toronto. . . all hard courts playing 12 and winning 6 of them. Only great players play in finals. That he is better than most people around on Clay is a plus for him and while he has defeated the greats on their own preferred courts. . . none yet to dethrone him on the Garros arena! |
ladeski: Looking forward to seeing how Nadal can translate his form to grass (afterall hes done it before). The knees look in fine form and hes beaten all his closest rivals recently, apart from Murray. vamos rafa.my worry is that due to the number of matches he's played to enable him catch up with fitness, he has opted out of the Queens tournament to get a deserved rest which means he would be heading into the Wimbledon Slam without any competitive match on grass. But as it is, it is Nadal, anythin is possible. record number of ATP 1000 masters (tourney of the big boys) and still counting. . . . record number of ATP 500 masters and still counting. . . 12 Grand Slam and still counting. . . accomplished his career slam in 2010 at age 24 you cannot write tennis history without his name mentioned in the golden columns of the GREATS! |
montelik: Murray game is very strong. Don't downgrade the boy because he is British and has their annoying press behind him. Murray is a genuine top 3 player and can beat any of the best, on most surfaces, on any giving day. He probably has the best all-round game in the ATP after Federer.I bet to disagree ooo. Hw many ATP 1000 has he won (the ATP for big boys). Nadal holds that record of number of ATP Masters 1000 won wt Federer in 2nd. Murray is good but I still believe he needs 2 things - mental strength & stamina! Likewise, the British hype makes most of their athletes overated |
;DMurray pulled out to recover well from injury and concentrate on Wimbledon. He want to win a slam on home soil Afam4eva: What happened to that British boy that won one competition last year. Andy Murray abi what's his name. Was he in this competition? |
biolabee: izz overPete Sampras the great won 14slams, none on clay (one of the great that never won the career slam) hw many were on grass (wimbledon)? |
Ferrer is a bull on clay bt Nadal is the matador & the garros clay is his arena. The only hope of a 4 set game is if the clouds opens up and pours for the game 2 be suspended. Ferrer has tried all tactics to no avail. To wrestle thr french slam frm Nadal wld require the long lasting power & mental stregth of Nole. Dat can only happn next year. |
@fredoo, yu were missing in action yday! lets do 2mrw as we did last year. TeamNadal! |
adaobi123: when does Wimbledon start ?June 24! |
Afam4eva: Djokovic should have won this a long time ago.Na Nadal suppose don win this for 4th set. He lost his serve while serving for the set for Nole to force a tie break which he lost. Without taking anything away from Nole, a 5th set wasnt suppose to be on the cards |
Rafa stands between Nole and his career slam just way he did to federer. federer owes Soderling for taking advantage of an injured nadal in the QF else, federer would have been another great that never got the career slam |
Who's interested in the other SF now? |
THE KING! THE UNDISPUTED! THE MATADOR OF THE CLAY COURT! |
Rafa breaks Nole on his serve taking all point! |
waow. . . .adupe oo. . . Nadal holds serve to lead 8-7 |
