@ thoth, i like your post most especially the Biafra part. I wonder why Nigeria did not improve on what Biafra achieved during their time. My prof back in FUTO was once talking about when he was young then in UNN and he worked under his prof ( i can't remember his name). He said they were part of the biafra engineering team and that his prof was among the main people who developed Ogbunigwe and some other innovations. He said this things because he was complaining that studentd of this era were lazy. We tried to persuade him to write a book about this great professor that he adored so much, i don't know if he did. Seriously, until we define who we are and where we place ourselves in this world, we would continue to a be a dependent baby waiting for his mum to feed him.

After how many lives has been lost. Sincerely, Monarchy is outdated and to me i don't see their relevance in this age, they tend to be ethnocentric. I know you would consider heritage, but the british style should be adopted and improved upon if we must continue with monarchs in Africa. If you are a monarch, you should not be involved in any political statement or stand. They should be ceremonial. Imagine where two neighbouring village would be fighting over trivial issues. What would happen to those who came from a very far place. To me, monarchs tend to scatter people more on ethnic ground. Imagine if a country like Italy still have their various monarchs like king of Florence, milan and co and would the citizen address their nationality. I feel the role of monarchs in Africa should be clearly defined so that they don't cause more problem and they should start being a joining force for good and peace.
