It's why certain folks who claim to be gangsta rappers get found out. You can't claim to rap about a lifestyle you haven't lived.

Funny enough, UFC fighters who decided to play up their characters for the cameras were starting to draw bigger gates than they used to.

this has nothing to do with New Japan and I don't care about Mexico's history. This is not wrestling. Simple. Imagine if this is what we grew up watching over Cena, Orton and Austin. Imagine the next Wrestlemania littered with circus characters from top to bottom. Haba.

Ironically though, pro wrestling originated from the circus. That's why they are called "carnies", because they used to travel around and perform along with other carnival acts.

Orton is guy who claims to be a snake and hears voices. The man literally slithers around like a reptile and holds his head. Cena played a white middle class rapper that was acting like a thug. Undertaker was a zombie or something. They are still circus characters. Luchadores are just a different flavour.

Brock has no gimmick, he dominated UFC. He's not playing a character.

Logan Paul is a douchebag real life.

Ironically enough, at the time, that was Brock's gimmick. His gimmick was that he was a legit ass-kicker in a world of sports entertainers. His character, however, evolved from someone who just destroyed everybody to the grizzled veteran who put Cody Rhodes through hell to prepare him for the Roman Reigns rematch.

Logan Paul's real-life douchebaggery has to do with him doing anything for money and clout. He just leans into it to elevate his wrestling gimmick. His wrestling gimmick is that he is an outsider who thinks he's better than veterans and will brag about it constantly.

Finisher spam has become a problem for all wrestling promotions. That shit killed my interest in Black and Gold. We should only be seeing it like twice a year, at best.

Kross also needs to drop the gimmicks. This isn't 1990.

Kross needs to learn how to wrestle matches that aren't boring. He's slow, lacks intensity, and lacks power in the ring.

On the mic, he can gather momentum but once he gets in the ring, everyone checks out. He has somehow managed to work snoozefests with the likes of Drew McIntyre, Rey Mysterio, AJ Styles, and Sami Zayn.

If Austin Theory had half the charisma that Kross has, he would've been pushed to the moon.

I've definitely stopped now.

NXT only for my weekly dose of wrestling.

A lot of Hunter x Hunter's booking decisions since Cody finished his story have been questionable.
Normally, I like to let him cook because the Bloodline storyline was gold. But we are like a year and a half removed from that and the shows have largely stagnated.
There are still bright spots here and there but the main storylines just aren't hitting like before.
