Power is a factor but you have to deal with importation as it is! Power will take as long as 5-7 years to get fixed that is with a serious government.

The only way to encourage local production and making their prices competitive is buying devaluation.

Oga leave that talk. How many companies have you seen that ran out of business due to the sole reason of naira devaluation?
I repeat, this companies always have ways to source for funds and in turn directly imposes the extra charges to the final consumers which is clearly evident in the rate of inflation of prices of goods.

Oga discouragement of importation by devaluation of the naira does not work in the Nigerian context. Importers would still source for resource to import and the whole burden would be borne by the consumers, at least, that's the way I see it. What would rather work is for the government to encourage local investment and production of these imported products at a reasonable quality and pocket friendly price and watch the importers go out if business.
