Here is a video of the moment Former President Olusegun Obasanjo thrilled the audience and specially wowed the President African Development Bank, Akinwumi Adesina at an event.

The president of the African Development Bank (AfDB), Nigerian Akinwumi Adesina and his wife recently launched a foundation in the USA.

Adesina launched the World Hunger Fighters Foundation in Iowa, USA to fight famine in the world.

Among those present at the event was former president, Olusegun Obasanjo. The AfDB president declared his gratitude for OBJ’s presence via his Twitter handle. In the tweet was a video of Obasanjo dancing to Yoruba praise song.

Also at the launch was Ambassador Quinn, the president of World Food Prize, as the event also served as a send-off for him. Adesina described Quinn as an incredible man and dear friend.

A fraudulent beggar was caught in the act yesterday along a busy road in Ebonyi state.

The man was bursted after he begged a lady for money and the lady insisted she would take him to the hospital instead.

When the lady asked him what led to his condition, he lied that he had a bike accident before people started gathering at the scene.

The passersby insisted that he should be taken to the hospital but the beggar bluntly refused till they noticed he was a fraudulent man and asked him to remove the fake bandage and the substance he applied on his hand.

The man later confessed he has been into the fraudulent practice for five years. Watch the full video below:

There was pandemonium yesterday at Oke-Ore along Owode Idi-Iroko road in Ogun state, after a ritualist pretending to be a mad man was caught with a baby.

The residents gathered at the scene at gave the man the beating of his life after the baby was confirmed dead.

The man is currently in police custody.

A baby with a rare condition, Harlequin-type ichthyosis, has been born in Borno State.
The child was delivered on Monday at the Umaru Shehu Hospital, Maiduguri, Borno State.

There was said have been confusion and commotion in the hospital following the birth of the baby.

Wikipedia said: Harlequin-type ichthyosis is a genetic disorder which results in thickened skin over nearly the entire body at birth.

The skin forms large, diamond-shaped plates that are separated by deep cracks. They affect the shape of the eyelids, nose, mouth, and ears, and limit movement of the arms and legs. Restricted movement of the chest can lead to breathing difficulties.

These plates fall off over weeks. Other complications can include premature birth, infection, problems with body temperature, and dehydration.

Harlequin-type ichthyosis is due to mutations of the ABCA12 genes. It is inherited from a person’s parents in an autosomal recessive manner. Diagnosis is often based on appearance at birth and confirmed by genetic testing. Before birth amniocentesis or ultrasound may support the diagnosis.

There is no cure. Early in life constant supportive care is typically required. Treatments may include moisturizing cream, antibiotics, etretinate, or retinoids. It affects about 1 per 300,000 births. Both sexes are affected equally commonly. Long term problems are common. Death in the first month is relatively common.

The condition was first documented in 1750.
Newborns with harlequin-type ichthyosis present with thick, fissured armor-plate hyperkeratosis. Sufferers feature severe cranial and facial deformities.

The ears may be very poorly developed or absent entirely, as may the nose. The eyelids may be everted (ectropion), which leaves the eyes and the area around them very susceptible to infection. Babies with this condition often bleed during birth. The lips are pulled back by the dry skin (eclabium).

Joints are sometimes lacking in movement, and may be below the normal size. Hypoplasia is sometimes found in the fingers. Polydactyly has also been found on occasion. In addition, the fish mouth appearance, mouth breathing, and xerostomia place affected individuals at extremely high risk for developing rampant dental decay.


Patients with this condition are extremely sensitive to changes in temperature due to their hard cracked skin, which prevents normal heat loss. Respiration is also restricted by the skin, which impedes the chest wall from expanding and drawing in enough air.

This can lead to hypoventilation and respiratory failure. Patients are often dehydrated, as their plated skin is not well suited to retaining water.

Members of a church here in Nigeria were almost moved to tears recently after a soldier who came there to testify of God's protection while serving in Maiduguri, the hotbed of Boko Haram activities, went on his knees to beg them to pray for soldiers still serving in Maiduguri, Borno state.

Maiduguri has been worst hit since Boko Haram started its attacks in the North.

The Nigerian soldier testified of how God saved him while he was out performing his duties in the North. He told the church members that as much as it is important to pray for prosperity, the church should also not forget to pray for soldiers in the North.

“ This sort of conduct by a few bad police officers must stop; and it is the duty of you senior and strategic leaders of the Police force to ensure that impunity of any kind is discouraged and punished where it is found.’’

Buhari said that the Nigeria Police force was one of the proudest National assets as it was the largest police force in Africa.

He said that the force had some of the best trained and best educated men and women.

The president said that Nigerian policemen had served everywhere locally and internationally with outstanding results.

“The Nigeria police force led police peace keeping activities in Congo, Namibia,Angola,Western Sahara,Somalia , Liberia, Sierra Leone, Bosnia Herzegovina , Croatia, Afghanistan, Kosovo, East Timor.

“In the course of duty so many have paid the supreme price; while fighting off robbers, kidnappers and other criminals many have been maimed for life.’’

The girls who accused Davido of impregnating one of them have been arrested.
