A viral video shows an unnamed student beating up another student she referred to as his boyfriend who cheated on her with another lady.

Just as the University of Ghana is struggling to reclaim its dented reputation following the ‘Sex For Grades’ scandal that has hit it, a female student of the school has brought its name into another scandal.

In the video, the lady could be seen hitting the victim referred to as Papa Kofi Owusu Kwarteng several times on the head as he sat harmlessly with no effort to defend himself.

Other colleague students present in the hall where the abuse was ongoing could be heard pleading on the guy’s behalf, saying he had a test the next day, so the beatings might affect him.

Meanwhile, as the video went viral and social media users reacted angrily to it calling it a blatant abuse, the lady has made another video to apologise for her conduct.

According to her, she got carried away in the heat of the moment and was not thinking right when she attacked the so-called boyfriend.

A man is currently in intensive care unit in a hospital in Benin after being beaten blue and black by some people who accused of him of stealing.

According to our source, a certain man known as Balawo in Benin Oriage area near Ekiade Police station accused the "innocent" man of stealing which resulted t the beating.

The case however has been transfered to State CID.

Sambo Dasuki makes public appearance in court after a long while in detention.

The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) High Court on Tuesday fixed December 11 to hear a Motion on Notice filed by the anti-graft agency, EFCC, in the corruption trial of a former National Security Adviser (NSA), Sambo Dasuki, and Bashir Yuguda.

Both men are accused of misappropriating N19.4 billion arms funds.

The EFCC had charged Messrs Dasuki (first defendant) and Yuguda (second defendant) alongside former Governor of Sokoto State, Attahiru Bafarawa (third defendant); his son, Sagir (fourth defendant) and his company, Dalhatu Investment Limited (fifth defendant).

They were charged on 25 counts bordering on criminal breach of trust and misappropriation of public funds to the tune N19.4 billion.


Recall that the Court of Appeal early this year, granted bail to the former National Security Adviser, Sambo Dasuki.

The court also ordered the federal government to pay Mr Dasuki N5 million for holding him against the provisions of section 35 (6) of the constitution which gives every Nigerian the right to free movement.

Mr Dasuki has been held by security operatives since December 2015 when he was arrested on allegations he diverted $2.1 billion from funds meant for the war against terrorism.

The Federal High Court in Lagos has ordered the temporary forfeiture of the sum of N280,555,010.65 discovered in the bank accounts of Invictus Oil and Gas Limited and Invictus Investment Limited.

Obinwanne Okeke aka Invictus is currently standing trial in the U.S over an alleged $11m cyber fraud, following his recent arrest by the FBI.

EFFC had told the court that the two firms were owned by Invictus, described as “a strong leader of a cyber crime syndicate that specialised in business e-mail compromise.”

Following an ex parte application by the EFCC on Monday, Justice Rilwan Aikawa made an order for the temporary forfeiture of the money.

EFCC lawyer, Rotimi Oyedepo, had told the court that he was assigned to investigate a request for information on Invictus and three others by the U.S Department of Justice, Office of the Legal Attache, US Consulate-General.

He added that the funds in the accounts were “reasonably suspected” to be proceeds of cyber crime and urged the judge to order its forfeiture to the Federal Government to prevent Okeke from dissipating same.

A staff of the Benin Electricity Distribution Company (BEDC), was, this morning, rescued by the residents of Okuokoko, Warri, Delta State.

The man was trying to fix the light without any Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), when electricity was suddenly restored and he got shocked.

However, the fast-thinking residents of the area quickly rushed to switch off their transformer and climbed the ladder to bring him down.

He was subsequently revived after being administered first aid. He has since become fully stabilized.

A judge shot himself in a Yala courtroom in Thailand after handing down a ruling on Friday.

Khanakorn Pianchana pulled out a pistol and shot himself in the chest after acquitting five defendants of murder and firearms charges that could have condemned three to death.

He was rushed to hospital where he underwent surgery for injuries said not to be life-threatening. .

A 25-page statement he posted on Facebook before the incident, shows that the case he was hearing concerned national security and was related to secret association, conspiracy and gun-law offences.

In the alleged document, he accused his superiors of trying to force him to change the verdicts to guilty. Khanakorn contended that the evidence did not support a guilty verdict.

Messages reading "Return the ruling to the judges" and "Return justice to the people" were repeated three times in the document.
