Gerrard59:I learnt that even Brazilian and Peruvian cocoa accounts for about 10% or there about of total of what Ghana 🇬🇭 and Ivory Coast 🇨🇮 produce in a year. So from studies their supply may not any where near meeting up with international demand market. Adverse effect of hot weather is also lowering the production and I believe much as not changed this year even in west Africa. At the same time, we also have the rising cost of pesticides and fertilizers, making it difficult for farmers to afford in these countries to maintain a healthy crop. And that also leads to pests. Another point is that there may be Lower production from Ghana and Ivory Coast this 2024 because a lot of the cocoa beans had been pre-sold to consumers or cocoa and chocolate manufacturers around the world just like the way Buhari pre-sold 🇳🇬 petrol to its customers such that they pay 5year ahead. This could mean that those other cocoa consumers manufacturers who are unable to to seal a deal of pre selling cocoa with 🇬🇭Ghana and Ivory Coast 🇨🇮 will have to rely heavily on other cocoa suppliers that are two small to meet up with demands. |
