Kufie:Good to know. Point was, and is, such claims shouldn't be made without the VIN. If it's accident free and low mileage and all of that, a seller should be quite confident to include the VIN with the rest of the pictures and details in the advert. Example https://www.nairaland.com/4136752/2004-toyota-avalon-xls-toks Advert, vehicle presumably sold by this same seller, has the same accident free claim. The vehicle in that advert was certainly not accident free You might as well assist the seller and make the VIN available. |
These pictures appear to be quite old, taken a while ago. Do you have more recent pictures of this vehicle? Is this vehicle in Nigeria? |
petebor02:VIN please. Thanks. |

DidiLove1:If he would have had to hide this relevant information to make a sale, then perhaps it's a good thing the "chance" of selling the car was "killed". Make full disclosures, don't rely on obscuring relevant facts to effect a sale. |

generationz:Technically it's not, that Corolla generation had the Base, LE, XLE, Sport, and the XRS trims. However this is arguably the most sporty a Corolla from that generation got. Summary: This is 'better' than the Corolla Sport from that generation. |

generationz:We have divergent opinions about the VIN being hidden because making it available may "spoil someone's market " Anyway the vehicle appears to have been damaged, possibly hail or some other non-accident damage, or indeed there may have been a collision not recorded as an accident by the insurance company/reporting authority, in January 2011 in Virginia. It was designated salvage and a total loss between January - March 2011 in Virginia, then it was moved to Michigan in July 2011, possibly had some repair work done and given a rebuilt title, it was probably exported from the US in 2011/2012. Regarding your recommendation based on the present condition of the vehicle, that would primarily hinge on the vehicle getting a thorough and skilled inspection. When vehicles have been used in Nigeria for that long the inspection is vital. Also mention to the other party that this isn't the regular Toyota Corolla, the XRS had the 2.4l i4 from the Camry, not the 1.8l the base/LE/S/XLE of that generation had. It also had the 5MT/5AT, not the 4MT/4AT. |
In that case I'll send it to an email address if one is made available. |
GAZZUZZ:Try opening it through your device file system, not the browser. |
generationz:Here you go. AutoCheck report PDF is attached This is an XRS, I've always wondered if they actually handled as great as they're reputed to, though this is a 5AT, not the famous 5MT. |
Reinvented:You could just provide the VIN with the rest of the advert. |
Paul112:You have proof? |
Kidding, kidding. Is the discoloration from paint transfer from the offending vehicle? You'd need to determine how deep the scratches go, to decide on the best course of action. Stay away from hydraulic/brake fluid, it may seem like a great idea but your clear coat and possibly paint will bear the brunt. |
This would remove them permanently, you'd never have to worry about them again

mathong:Nice try.

What was the original/factory colour of this vehicle? Is the leather upholstery factory or aftermarket? |

generationz:In summary, it means that the VIN he posted does not exist. No vehicle was ever manufactured with that VIN. Check the thread about VIN tampering for a more detailed explanation. In this case this Toyota Corolla is from Canada (2T1), so the correct VIN is quite possibly 2T1BR32E86 C 707953 But the seller is too obstinate and stuck in his ways to be honest. |
generationz:From MY perspective, I'm sure some others would have other relevant tips, I believe the cardinal point to make here is that a salesperson should ALWAYS know (assumption that you're female) her merchandise. You need to know what you're advertising. In sales, ignorance is not bliss. Assumptions will get you in hot water all the time. Car purchases are significant life decisions for most people, keep that in mind. Let's assume a dealer, Mr Valentine, imports a Honda Accord, and sends you pictures, or invites you to see the vehicle and take your own pictures for your advert, if you'd really want to be exceptional and upright, don't just take his word for it when he tells you it's a 2010 Honda Accord, or that it's a clean title, or that it's had no accidents or wasn't flood damaged, or that the displayed mileage is the real mileage. You need to independently verify these things. A VIN Check will arm you with the facts you need, and give you the confidence to make these claims and assertions about the vehicles you advertise. You may think, 'So I'd run VIN Checks for vehicles I may even end up not selling, or may not earn a commission from'. To which my response would be that I believe any enterprise has running or recurrent costs. What better expenditure can a salesperson make than expenditure to know exactly what they're advertising? You'd also need some basic automotive knowledge. You don't necessarily need to be Rich Rebuilds, but don't be like the fellows here that advertise a vehicle with a "V4" engine, or "20 inch alloy wheels" on a stock Toyota Corolla. It doesn't exactly create the best impression about you. If you'd post adverts online, make your adverts professional, not mediocre like chibecan and his 1879 pinhole camera. Take a look at the first 2 comments on the advert below https://www.nairaland.com/4707757/tokunbo-honda-accord-2017 Though as far as I'm concerned that advert is factually deficient and the seller and I will likely have a disagreement in the very near future, the pictures are professional. They don't necessarily need to be edited or enhanced to hide defects, just professional. If you cannot do that, at least don't use a Polaroid camera like cgc and Chibecanglobal. As you make progress you will gain some experience. Always remember, if a deal seems too good to be true, it usually isn't(true). |
Nice try Unfortunately for you it's not going to work. I'm not even going to bother with the usual detailed explanation or analysis. www.nairaland.com/attachments/7720509_screenshot20180906091831chrome_jpeg937d4e606c6ecfa392172c76bd0ddd7e |

Contact this seller at your risk. Only a dishonest fellow intent on dishonest practices pursues this course of action. www.nairaland.com/attachments/7726288_screenshot20180907033650chrome_jpeg4c03e46b63012a3bc28bc883e989cccb You changed your mind about being honest, I see. |
