coldFLARES1:Wow....it looks like this is then going to be a display driver issue. Not sure what that techie did....but you may need to make sure your display driver is updated correctly. |
Tobsam237:I'm sorry but at this point in your PC life....reformatting is the best thing to do at this point. Now....there is a way to successfully do this thing without losing all your files. It requires a little patient but its efficient. You need to first shrink your hard drive and secure a enough space to save all your personal files in there. Then when you reformat to install windows...make sure you dont touch the drive you saved your files into. once you login after installation of windows....you should be able to access all your personal files. Now the key thing here is that you need to make sure none of those personal files are infected with any virus. |
coldFLARES1:Well it helps now that you gave us the exact error you are getting... This is not really a driver issue...rather a settings issue... Right click on your desktop and click on screen resolution look at lower right corner and click on Advanced settings Go to the troubleshooting tab and click on Change Settings Now make sure the Hardware acceleration slider is moved to enable. Dont forget to click OK....you may be asked to restart...if not...just restart and try playing your game. As far as you network controller....you may need to get that driver installed if you are thinking of using internet....you may need both the wireless and wired driver. |
coldFLARES1:Few questions What operating system? What drivers are you missing? (go to device manager and list all the drivers with a yellow notification) And why is the "techie" not fixing this issue he probably caused? |
Collinz2:We need more information about whats going on here. because you may have a bad ISO image, you may have burnt it into the dvd incorrectly (dvd needs to be burnt as a "bootable image" ![]() Preferably, i like to use usb. So you would need to prepare the usb as a bootable image first. You can use a third party software to do that, or if you are Nigeria with poor or no network..then command prompt is best...by doing this Insert USB. Open up command prompt (best to right click and run as administrator) type and enter DISKPART type and enter LIST DISK You should see a list of all disks on the computer...note the number of your usb drive type and enter SELECT DISK 1 (that 1 should be the number assigned to your usb..so it may be different for yours) type and enter CLEAN type and enter CREATE PARTITION PRIMARY type and enter SELECT PARTITION 1 type and enter ACTIVE type and enter FORMAT FS=NTFS type and enter ASSIGN type and enter EXIT Once all that is done...you should copy the windows image contents and paste it the usb drive. (Please make sure you are copying and pasting the extracted files into the usb drive) reboot and boot into the usb drive. |
bigt2:LOL i was gonna say the same thing...but i wanted to be nice. |
Yaungdee:Not sure what could cause that besides thinking you may have a bad adobe reader software. I would recommend uninstalling and installing adobe reader again. Atleast if this doesnt resolve the issue, then we know its not adobe reader's issue. And that it could be something else. |
samkizzy:Yes it looks like you are better off staying with Windows 7 if possible, because there is little or no driver support for Windows 8.1 for your laptop; especially for none for the display driver. Besides Windows 7 is much better and stable (in my opinion) |
samkizzy:Ok, is your laptop an intel or AMDI? or better yet...whats the name of the display driver you disabled? I will look up your driver for you. By the way it seems like HP does not support windows 8 or 8.1 on that laptop. Thats probably the reason you couldnt find it on their website. But get back with me with the name of your display driver. |
samkizzy:Since you are getting the black screen after POST...it sounds like this issue could be an issue with the image you are currently running. You may have a bad driver or you may have a corrupted image. I am leaning towards a bad driver (display driver). Seeing that you upgraded to Windows 8.1, chances are the driver did not install properly. I would recommend successfully refreshing your computer and log into windows like you were doing before. Go into device manager and uninstall and "delete" the device software of your display driver (this should set you back to VGA standard adapter). Restart your computer. Log back in and go to your manufacturer's website to look for your display driver for windows 8.1. Download and install. Restart and you should be fine. |
Ofonagoro:Wow, having read all your comments...Im ashamed of two things. First the way you are denouncing and slandering my country Nigeria Secondly, apparently we are family because you mentioned my mom's name as one of the family members of yours that are here. Hmmm....It's alright. |
JayKaba:Wow...I was afraid to get this response, only because I know how true it is. I have tried to explain and reiterate exactly what you just said, to her, but she doesn't get it. Going to school for geology in America, is not really "the future" because America is slowly moving away from being oil dependent. Well, she is coming this May to attend the OTC event (oil and gas conference). It will be her first time here. I'm not sure if that will open her eyes a little. What I would really like is for her is to change her career a little. Come and study her masters in something different, but not too far from geology. Just something that will give her a better chance in getting a job here. By the way, thank you. She doesn't know I started this post....but I will definitely send her a screenshot of what you said. |
nanauju:I'm sorry, but Anything wrong with the post? |
Hello My Nigerians, So I myself live in America, working for a Hospital in the IT Department. My fiance currently works in an oil and gas service company in Lagos as a Geo-scientist. She currently holds a bachelor degree in Geology from Unizik. Obviously we are working towards marriage and her being with me in America. I need help in where I can get information on how to make this transition a success, whereby she is able to remain in her field when she comes here (Houston is very big in the oil and gas). Or if anyone have gone through the same journey, please share with me your experience. We are in no rush to being married yet...but we want to be doing anything we can do possibly now to prepare ourselves for when the day comes. Thank you all for any advice and recommendations. |
