I dont know. but he said he bought it for 3k. I didnt do the design for him. he's only using my api. he called me suspecting that i may be responsible in his sms units disappearance until i ran a report and saw the conitinous message been sent.

A reseller under me just called me this morning and said that his sms units are just disappearing. I did a quick check on his sms report and discovered that a particular sender with sender id: @@ sender @@ is continuously sending a particular message about konga product. It looks to me a script in running and sending the stuff. Because the sender is not registered on the website. Has his portal injected with a malicious script?

Have you ever experienced this?

1. Logo is not mine.

3. No leave the UI like it is; like you said, its a clone of thunderclap and thats exactly what the owner wants. If the UI is not like thunderclap tell me.
4. The color theory again is thunderclap and some of them change dynamically with the number of supports received on that particular campaign.
5. How does a professional front end look like? Abeg tell me.

It's a nice idea. You actually wanted to do a clone of thunderclap.com, but I think you should have done a better UI.

1. The logo is a no no.
2. It's not responsive. You did for 320px, but you need to do others like 480px, 640px, 800px.
3. The UI is really poor (I can actually overhaul the UI for you. Just a small fee).
4. The color theory is poor.
5. The forntend doesnt look professional.

So if Toyota decides to start selling Highlander for 300k, will Honda sue them?

I can dive into style.css and functions.php of any wordpress theme and fork it around and turn it into something else. I can code a custom wordpress theme if the client wants that and he's ready to pay. But even if I collect 5k from him for a custom wp theme, it's nobody's business. What matters is delivery. If a web designer cannot deliver what he promised to deliver, then how much he charged will not matter. What wil matter is his integrity and competence. Someone can charge you 1000 USD and deliver a crap to you while another will charge you 1000 Naira and deliver excellence to you.

I dont blame all of you agitating for 'build it from scratch.' I was in ur shoes some years back. Now, i know better. Instead of campaigning for build it from scratch, I now buy a wp theme for 50 USD (8500 Naira) and customize it. And collect 20k or 30k from a client who just needs a website for his business.

You guys have not made any valid points. Do you merely design websites for profits? What of those that build robust themes and plugins for free.

Here are my points:
1. It's foolishness reinventing the wheel. Like dumping jquery and doing your own custom js library.

2. Custom web application is not a rocket science. I am a guru in html5, css3, php and mysql. I can spin any custom web application.

3. Custom web app takes time to build if u ar working alone and it's costly.

4. 99% of clients ar not ready to wait for 3 months for an ecommerce website and they ar not ready to pay 2000 USD.

5. If you know html, css, php,etc, it wil be good to master one cms like wordpress and one framework like codeigniter. They will make ur life easier. U can build a robust application in 3 days and at a cheaper rate. The client wil be satisfied and on budget and u wil be happy also.

Finally, no web developer in Nigeria can do a custom website 100%. We all use jquery. We all use images from google.

Yes. But how many people have verve card? Verve is a local card that is been phased out. As long as people can pay with visa or mastercard, u ar good to go.

U can do a quick business name registration wit CAC and then use the certificate to open a business account on voguepay. If not, u can as well use ur international passport to open a biz account.

What wil u be receiving payments for? If it's not something that demands been corporate, then u can create a personal account on voguepay with ur name and recieve payments.

Alternatively, you can also check www.2checkout.com and see if they fit into what you want.

I perfectly understand your fear. But you must have to trust ur developer or designer to benefit from his web design services. This is why one can hire a total stranger on freelancer.com and he wil do the job perfectly.

You dont need to give the person cpanel access. Just install wordpress from your cpanel and then give him the wordpress admin login details.

If you dont know how to install wp from cpanel, then give him access to cpanel. When he's done with ur job and u ar satisfied, just change the usernames and passwords of your cpanel and wp admin. The person will never be able to have access to the dashboard again, except he's a ominipresent beign.
