Travel / Some Cool Things About Abuja International Airport, Nigeria. by CREIMEXAD: 2:44pm On Dec 29, 2019
Nigeria's international airport in the nation’s capital, Abuja, is called Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, Nigeria.
The Airport:
(1) Is currently the only Airport in West Africa that has a Rail Link (+ a train station that is referred to as "Airport Station" ).
(2) Has an Airport Hotel.
(3) And it has its own 10MW Independent Power Plant.

Wow. Cool.
I celebrate Nigeria. I hope things only keep getting better for us, both as a nation and in our individual lives and endeavors.

Motivating (and humorous) speech of Oba Ewuare II at a Church service in Benin City...

His Royal Majesty, Oba Ewuare II, Oba of Benin, was a guest at the New Covenant Gospel Church in Benin City, on their annual thanksgiving service.

He said since his coronation in 2016, this is his 1st time of attending a church service in a Pentecostal church.

Very fantastic and excellent speech, motivating, enlightening...and humorous...especially when he said: "swaggerlicious Oba"

Rev. Felix Omobude later presented Oba Ewuare with a bible. And Oba Ewuare gave a financial gift of N1m for the thanksgiving.

DR Congo won Afcon twice 1968 & 1974

Yea, thanks Bro, was an oversight. It was Congo that won it in 1972 and not DR Congo and I've corrected it. It's all these their incessant change of name. DRC won it in 1968 as Congo - Kinshasa and in 1974 as Zaire, but the country is now called Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC). grin grin
Thanks again for pointing out the error.

Nairaland / General / Latest From Whatsapp. by CREIMEXAD: 8:14am On Aug 18, 2019
LATEST FROM WHATSAPP.

By Emma Ebare.

To start with, I guess most people already know some recent developments from WhatsApp, viz:

(1) To maintain the privacy and intimacy within WhatsApp, they now limit how you can forward a message. When you forward a message, you can only forward it to maximum of 5 chats at one time.

(2) When you forward a message to another user, an arrow icon + the inscription "forwarded", are shown at the top of the message to indicate that it is a forwarded message.

But now, if you've updated your WhatsApp app very recently - that is, to any of the most recent versions of the leading messaging service, here's the latest:
According to WhatsApp customer service, "When a message is forwarded from one user to another user
more than 5 times, this is indicated with a double arrow icon."

Let me explain it more plainly:
When a message is forwarded to more than 5 chats or forwarded more than 5 times, that arrow icon which in recent times, now shows at the top of forwarded messages, will be a DOUBLE ARROW icon (still along with the inscription "forwarded" ).
So as it is, the sight of a double arrow icon at the top of a message on WhatsApp (+ the inscription "forwarded" ) indicates that it was forwarded more than 5 times or to more than 5 chats.

NB:
However, according to WhatsApp, "The number of times a message has been forwarded is end-to-end encrypted." To explain, though it will now be known that you have forwarded that message more than 5 times, but the exact number of times you have forwarded the message remains private and known by only you and the recipient(s), and that privacy and the info that's known only between sender and recipient is what is referred to as "end-to-end encryption."

I hope you find this short drop useful and informative. Thank you for reading.

Nairaland / General / The Beauty Of Group Chat On Whatsapp. by CREIMEXAD: 12:31pm On Aug 10, 2019
THE BEAUTY OF GROUP CHAT ON WHATSAPP.

- By Emma Ebare.

I'm always kind of surprised to see on WhatsApp, people exiting a group chat which they were added to. It's clear that they do not know the usefulness and advantages of a group chat.

Well, here are a few brief things you should know:

(1) Group chat is a quick, easy, excellent and veritable way to interact with, reach out to, and message, many people - at the same time, thereby saving the energy and time of messaging them one by one.

(2) Group chat gives you opportunity to bless, inspire, encourage, motivate and share good/inspirational things or ideas with so many people at the same time.

(3) Also, people you couldn't have reached on your own or you do not have their phone numbers and you could not have even gotten their phone numbers on your own, you get to reach them through a group chat.

(4) Through group chat, you get to meet new people you didn't know before - some of whom may be in different parts of the world or in different parts of the country you reside in.

(5) Finally, if you are into any business or services or you have anything to announce, promote or advertise, group chat gives you a very fantastic free platform for that.

I hope you find these few drops useful.
God bless you all.

Politics / Message To The Chieftains And Members Of APC, Concerning The Crisis In APC Edo S by CREIMEXAD: 11:00am On Jul 13, 2019
MESSAGE TO THE CHIEFTAINS AND MEMBERS OF APC, CONCERNING THE CRISIS IN APC EDO STATE.

I greet you Sirs/Mas.
I'm writing this with utmost sincerity, love and goodwill and from the depth of my heart.
Concerning the rumblings and wars in your party, the neutral, non partisan Edo people like me, have gotten tired and desirous of an end to it all, for the greater good of everybody.

I want to give these few thoughtful advises:

(1) All the parties involved in the crisis, should come down from their high horses and "bite the humble pie", for humility does not kill and will not take anything away from them. Whatever issues there are, I believe they all can be resolved by negotiation and compromise - yes, compromise! Each party cannot fully have it's way, they all have to shift grounds and give up 1 thing or another and make compromise, for the sake of peace and in order to move forward.

(2) The warring parties should ignore the people that are taking sides with them and urging them on and should listen to the neutral ones who are advising them for the good and progress of the state.

(3) Party leaders that were sidelined ever since, should be pacified and reunited with others as 1 political entity - that's how it's supposed to be!, because it was 1 party that won the governorship election then and not 2 (in Nigeria, it can never be 2!).

(4) The Governor can allocate a certain agreed percentage of contracts and appointments to other interests and people in the party. That is EXCELLENT LEADERSHIP and magnanimity (and magnanimity does not kill!!).

(5) For those that have upcoming political ambitions, well, it is not wrong to have political ambition, but they should be told to go about it peacefully and with decorum.

(6) Finally, in some situations in which there's tussle over choice, they can settle that by going for a neutral person. For example, the issue of Speakership of Edo State House of Assembly, since "Oga 1" wants Victor Edoror and "Oga 2" wants Frank Okiye (who incidentally, is the person representing me in the house of assembly - that is Esan North East 1), why not they go for a neutral choice - Emma Okoduwa? Though I don't know him in person, but I'm aware that he's fully qualified too - a pharmacist, he's a ranking member, and was in the house before, in 2007 (he succeeded former Speaker, Friday Itulah), and also from Esanland like Okiye. This choice could be needful for peace and common sense.

To conclude, let me give you all, these 2 drops of wisdom:

(1) It is totally unnecessary and unwise, to take part in any battle that can be prevented or resolved by negotiation.

(2) Sometimes, battles are better avoided, because nobody knows:
•Where the battle will lead to,
•What it will result in (like catastrophe, etc),
•Who it will consume, and
•When it will end (some battles actually become eternal battles).

My sincere prayer for you all is that, all the issues and quarrel among you guys should be resolved peacefully, and importantly, I hope everybody will take his rightful place and authority, without anyone trying to manipulate another. Nobody has monopoly over power, power belongs to God. I pray that it ends well for you all.
God bless you all.

Culture / Are All Israelis Jews? by CREIMEXAD: 2:22pm On Apr 25, 2019
ARE ALL ISRAELIS JEWS?

Answer is:
NO!

Here:
(1) Majority are Jews - Jewish Israelis, as some call them.

But Israel also has other ethnic groups that are in minority, viz:
(2) Arabs.
(3) Druzes.
(4) Circassians.
(5) And in recent times, another ethnic group in Israel that has been clamouring for recognition is now being recognised. They are the Arameans, who speak Aramaic. For many years, they were classified with Israeli Arabs, an identity that they've been against. But now, they're getting recognised and have even started joining Israeli military - the IDF (Israel Defense Forces).

Even in language, Hebrew language is not the only native language in Israel - they also have Arabic, Yiddish and Aramaic.

NB:
There are conspiracy theories accusing the Israeli government of divide-and-rule tactic - that they have recognized Aramean identity in order to divide Christian Arabs from Muslim Israelis. This is obviously coming from Arab Muslims who are not pleased by the recognition of Arameans. Well, that is by the wayside though.

Thanks for reading.
