CelebritiesWhy It’s Delusional To Think Nigeria’ll Get Better — Singer Mr Lukeson by CrispyLiz(op): 5:32am On Jul 11, 2022
INTERVIEW: Why It’s Delusional To Think Nigeria’ll Get Better — Singer Mr Lukeson

Mr Lukeson is a fast-rising Nigerian musician with several hit songs. The singer, whose real name is Onwuzuruike Lukeson Oguchi Luke, has continued to pull the weight of fame in the music industry.

The Port Harcourt-born artiste is also an activist who is passionate about a better society. In this interview with CRISPNG, he reflects on his music career, activism, among others.

Tell us about yourself
My name is Onwuzuruike Lukeson Oguchi Luke, a native of Egbema in Ogba Egbema Ndoni Local Government Area of Rivers State.

A young computer science tech graduate of Imo State Polytechnic and a masters degree graduate of Shenyang Agricultural University in China.

A performing artist, music producer, songwriter, and an activist because people say I am one.

What’s your area of specialisation as an artiste?

I’d have simply said an R&B/Afro Pop singer but I’m way too versatile in this music thing so, I can perfect almost any kind of song. For this reason, I won’t say I’m stationed in any genre.

At what point did you kickstart your music career?

My love for music has been from childhood. Born into a family where even my granny was a known singer in the community and all my siblings and my mum are known up till date by close friends as good singers, I think this gave me the foundation i needed but more so, i got my polishing in the church until i decided to do my first recording in 2005 using a beat i made by myself.
Ever since, I’ve been on this thing and praying and waiting on breakthrough.

Tells us about some of your works

I have them many out there. They include:

Someone Like you
Dogo
Ada Pitakwa
Hangover and a lot more.
I have over 50 unreleased tracks because I don’t want to release them and not do proper promo like I did to others.

Are you working on anything currently?

We don’t ever rest on this thing even when we want to.

I was working on a project recently but it got stolen by an artist known as Dapro who was able to commit that theft with one of the big names in the industry (Young Skales) and when I contacted Skales, he asked for a prove which I provided and he later denied knowing that the song was stolen even before he dropped the song.
Saddest thing is, they messed up the song completely.

What do you aim to achieve with music?

I want to be able to put my city on the map. A lot of young talents are dying here for lack of no support. I’m hoping to get to limelight so I can be able raise a ladder for these young talents.

What’s your drive as an activist?

My major drive is the continual systematic marginalisation of our people. It has mesmerised our existence so much that so many of our people are now adapting to marginalization and poverty as a way of life. My biggest drive even is the realisation that our life expectancy here is presently within 50-55 years of age due to the activities of these oil companies here. The fact that government knows this open secret yet not making any plan for our future generation.

What is it like being an activist demanding a better Nigeria?

The perfect response is “SUICIDAL”.

Suicidal in the sense that you’re automatically marked for death either by the government of the day or by people directly gaining from the marginalisation.

To what extent are you joining forces with others to change the narrative for good?

We’re sold out to this! We’ll go any extent to see a better Niger Delta even though it gets tiring. I’m not married, have no kids presently so I’m living all for myself hence, have no reason to fear for the life of anybody.

How was your masters programme abroad?

I think my masters abroad was inspired by the need to escape from Nigeria. My parents started regretting raising us in Nigeria and they finally decided that no time is late. So, they made that move for my sister and I and it happened.
I came back late 2019 and have not gone back due to COVID-19.

Do you regret coming back to Nigeria?

My return to Nigeria is my biggest regret since I was born.

Do you still believe in Nigeria?

Anybody still believing in Nigeria is either delusional or just naturally wicked. If a working Nigeria is viable, it won’t work in the next 50 years even.

EducationOgunbamowo Damilola Abigail To Sue UNN Over Her Matric Number, NYSC Mobilization by CrispyLiz(op): 4:56pm On Nov 03, 2021
University Of Nigeria Graduate Threatens N100million Lawsuit After School Used Matric Number To Mobilise Another Student For Youth Service

A graduate of the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, Ogunbamowo Damilola, is set to sue the institution after discovering that her matriculation number was used to mobilise another student of the institution for the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) programme.

In a petition obtained by SaharaReporters, the student, a graduate of the department of Mathematics Education from the institution's affiliate, Yaba College of Technology Satellite Campus, completed her course work in December 2018.

However, while her colleagues were mobilised for NYSC in 2019, she was not accorded similar treatment in spite of having no carry-overs at the time.

The petition initiated by the Yakubu Eleto chambers further stated that when she demanded to be sent for NYSC, the school authorities informed her that her Matric No; F/BS/14/3880001 was used by someone else for NYSC.

The chambers had since requested that the institution to immediately deploy its client for NYSC.

In the petition, the graduate also demanded the sum of N100million as damages, citing the negligent transfer of her Matric number to a third party to use for NYSC.

The petition signed by Yusuf Malik Bello, the Assistant Head of Chambers, was addressed to the registrar of the institution with the title, “A Demand For Immediate Mobilisation For National Youth Service Corp Of Ogunbamowo Damilola Abigail, A 2018 Graduate of Mathematics Education.”

It reads, “The above subject matter refers. We are the solicitors to Ogunbamowo Damilola Abigail, a 2017/2018 graduate of Mathematics Education with Matric No: F/BS/14/3880001 (hereinafter referred to as “our clients”) and on whose instructions we hereby write this letter of demand.

“Our clients briefed us as follows; That she was offered admission on a full-time basis as could be deduced from her admission letter into Mathematics Education with the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, Yabatech Satellite Campus. The said course of study was completed in December 2018.

”It is our brief that our client successfully completed her course of study in the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, Yabatech Satellite Campus in flying colours and her name was cleared as not having any outstanding (Carryovers).

“It is our further brief that our client’s co-graduates of the same Academic Session from other Departments and the domicile department of the University of Nigeria Nsukka, Yabatech Satellite Campus were mobilized in 2019 for National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) without according our client similar treatment.

“It is also our brief that when our client demanded to be sent to NYSC, the school authority rather came up with strange news by saying that our clients Matric No; F/BS/14/3880001 was used by someone else for NYSC.

“Regrettably, this development has left our client in a state of frustration, stagnation and dilemma, as she cannot gain employment in Nigeria without her NYSC discharge or exemption certificates (of which you are aware), after spending huge sums of money and wasting the vital years of her youthful life pursuing a career of her choice.

“TAKE NOTICE therefore that we have our client’s authority to demand and we hereby demand that you send our client to NYSC without further delay because she was offered admission on a full-time basis deserving of NYSC and on the representation that her Matric No; F/BS/14/3880001 can’t be shared with anyone which is the standard all over the world, we are now emphatically demanding the sum of N100,000,000.00 (Hundred Million Naira) as damages suffered by our client by negligently transferring her Matric No: to a third party to use for NYSC.

“This is an act deliberately orchestrated to frustrate our client’s four years of devoted study in YABATECH, the trauma of wasted years and fraud perpetuated on her. TAKE FURTHER NOTICE that should you fail and/or neglect to heed our demand within Seven (7) days of the receipt of this letter, we shall have no other option than to perfect our client's further instruction. Be properly guided.”

When SaharaReporters contacted the Dean of School of Technical Education, Yaba College of Technology, Olusola Akeredolu, he stated that the issue had nothing to do with the college but the University of Nigeria, Nsukka and the NYSC.

According to him, the college does not have the authority to communicate with the NYSC.

He said, “The issue is that somebody used her Matriculation number which is not in our jurisdiction. That person used it and NYSC was able to pick that person which is outside our own jurisdiction, we have been trying to follow it up to see if we can get the person.”

When SaharaReporters asked him if it was possible for a student to make use of another's matriculation number without the institution's consent, he replied, “It is outside the school's jurisdiction, when you're with NYSC, the college does not even have any affairs with that, once your result has been passed from here, we send it to Nsukka which is the Affiliate parent so they're the ones that will put it to NYSC so we don't have any jurisdiction. All we just try to do is monitor if our students are doing well.

“When matric numbers are used, it is within NYSC and them (UNN), they should be able to check that one. We are just trying to see that our students should not miss the NYSC, we are doing everything possible to see what can be done to rectify the issue so she can go for NYSC.”

On whether the student who used the matric number had bribed a member of staff, the Dean stated: “Go to NYSC, we are an affiliate body of the University of Nigeria, Nsukka. When we compile results, Nsukka comes here to pick results and takes it over there and they're the ones who would relate with NYSC. Once the result has been approved by the senate of UNN, they send it to the NYSC.

“We have nothing to do with their mobilisation. But I know we have been working to make sure that we find a way by which she must go for NYSC as soon as possible.”

Also, the Faculty Officer of the Science Education faculty of the college, Odundayo Kolawole, said the lawyer of the student could take a further step.

“If there is any case of such, I think the best thing for the person to do is to write a letter to the management. If the faculty has gotten a letter from her lawyer, why is she going to the press? The lawyer should do the needful.

“If her lawyer has written to management, I think management will definitely give a response. There's no need making a mountain out of nothing. If the lawyer had written to management, definitely the management will reply, I don't think there is need escalating issues unnecessarily,” the officer said.

SportsParalympics: How Queen Idris Inspired Bose Omolayo To Win Gold In Tokyo by CrispyLiz(op): 11:58am On Aug 30, 2021
Paralympics: How Queen Idris inspired Bose Omolayo to win gold in Tokyo

The timely intervention of Former President of Nigeria Para Powerlifting Federation (NPPF), Queen Idris provided the needed push and encouragement that saw Bose Omolayo won a gold medal at the ongoing Tokyo Paralympics Games.

Queen Idris who is a special guest of the World Para Powerlifting Federation had promised to give Bose Omolayo 500 dollars if she delivered a gold medal at the Games.

Speaking after the victory, Idris said the morale of Bose Omolayo was low before she participated in her weight class adding that she had to cheer her up with her local dialect.

She said, “I am in Tokyo for the Paralympics Games on a special invitation from the World Para Powerlifting Federation. They knew the role I played when I was President of Nigeria Para Powerlifting Federation. Before Bose Omolayo broke the World Record and landed Nigeria her second gold medal in the Para Powerlifting event, I had to motivate her psychologically and promise her 500 dollars.

“It gave me great joy when she broke the World Record because the only language Bose Omolayo understands Is Para Powerlifting. Bose Omolayo is an orphan, she cannot read and write and the only language she understands is sports”.

“She has challenges catering for her children before the Tokyo Paralympics and I informed her that winning a gold medal is a plus for her and she will be able to cater for the needs of her children.

“Most of the athletes know that I have special love for them, I am willing to make more sacrifices for them and that is why I am currently in Tokyo to cheer the Para Powerlifters to victory”, Idris added.
After Bose picked up the gold, Queen Idris fulfilled her promise instantly and sprayed Bose Omolayo 50,000 Yen which is equivalent to 500 dollars.

The Former President of Nigeria Para Powerlifting Federation also gave Bose Omolayo a set of tracksuit from Limitless Identity Fashion”, which is the approved clothing line for the World Para Powerlifting.

BusinessEmefiele’s Policy Somersault On Foreign Exchange, Bureau De Change by CrispyLiz(op): 7:01pm On Jul 31, 2021
FOREIGN EXCHANGE, BDCs AND CBN GOVERNOR'S POLICY SOMERSAULT

By Dr. Adeola Adeyemi

It is quite pathetic and worrisome the recent foreign currency policy somersault of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) under the leadership of its Governor, Mr. Godwin Emefiele. The policy which is that CBN will stop giving BDCs foreign currency is capable of completely destroying many businesses and households. This anti-economic cum financial policy is coming amidst obvious economic challenges occasioned by poor financial policies of CBN, economic recession and COVID-19 pandemic.

It would be recalled that the country slipped into economic recession few months after Emefiele assumed office as CBN Governor in 2014. Since then till date, Emefiele has shown that he lacks the knowledge and experience to turn around the country's economy and finances for good.

One can say without mincing words that for Emefiele, being the CBN governor is all about making policies about foreign exchange that will be of personal benefit to the banks and his paymasters in foreign exchange related businesses to the detriment of the economy and the rest of Nigerians, especially the middle class and downtrodden.

This is not surprising considering that Mr Emefiele was appointed into CBN from Zenith bank. So, it is a case of him protecting his personal interest and that of his allies in the banking sector without minding the adverse multiplier effect on the citizens and economy at large. Zenith bank which has phobia and hatred for anything Bureau De Change became so strong and comfortable with Emefiele's elevation. Zenith bank as early as the inception of Bureau De Change never agreed to open a corporate account for BDCs. It doesn't also issue instruments in favour of BDCs. This is the prejudice and bias Mr Emefiele took to the CBN. Upon assumption of office as CBN governor he made nonsense of domiciliary account by putting in place policies that took Nigerians backwards.

Domiciliary account holders would travel abroad with their foreign exchange debit cards only to find out that they could only access maximum of $300 in a day. The cost of hotel accommodation, feeding and others is none of Emefiele's concern or worry. A lot of micro, small and medium business enterprises that hitherto put money together and import a forty feet container have been put out of business as a result of deliberate policies of banks supported by CBN to frustrate them and their businesses.

This is in an environment that unemployment is fuelling all sorts of problems and increasing crime rate.

The CBN before now has been hitting the BDCs below the belt. The apex bank would just pick some BDCs at random and sanction them and make them pay #5m each for an offence only known to the CBN. The latest allegation against the BDCs is that they are laundering money. What is the volume of foreign exchange given to the BDCs as a percentage of the whole. It is very insignificant and infinitesimal amount.

Assuming without conceding that some BDCs launder money, is that enough reason for CBN to put the entire people in the sector of the economy out of business without weighing the grave consequences? Is there no way CBN can curb such illicit activity if any exist? A Bureau De Change employs at least four persons. Each person has at least four dependants. It is clear that to the CBN governor, there is nothing wrong in throwing away the baby with the bath water.

It would be recalled that Prof. Charles Soludo was at a time the governor of CBN and the economy thrived. Please can someone advice Mr. Emefiele to search his office filing cabinet for some memos by Prof Solude, especially those that relate to foreign exchange policies . No doubt, Mr Emefiele will learn some lessons.

Today the exchange rate of dollar to naira is #515 as against the #503 few days ago that the BDCs were in operation. So even out of business BDCs are still making the exchange rate to go up?

Haba, Emefiele and his team should wake up from slumber and hallucination and proffer lasting solution to the financial cum economic woes of the country. BDCs are not the causes of rising inflation and dwindling economy. They should not be used as sacrificial lamb by Emefiele and CBN. BDCs have been supportive of the CBN policies and country's economy. They have provided succour and assistance to the people when it mattered most. They are genuine and legal business entities like every other one in the country.

Shutting the door behind them means adding more woes to the country's dwindling economy. It is time the leadership of the country call Emefiele to order because he is completely destroying the fragile and struggling economy of the country which he had failed to fix since emerging as CBN Governor. Silence is not golden at this point. It is not only about the BDCs, it is about Nigerians and survival of their economy.

Adeyemi, an economic analyst writes from Broad street Lagos.

Pandemonium, sounds of gunshots, lamentations and hunger, kidnapping and banditry traceable to unemployment and poverty alongside unbearable inflation defined a democratic gun-vernment and NOT a democratic system.

It’s unfortunate that Nigerians, in a desperate search for a democratic government that will bring peace and development got misled, misinformed and deceived by conspirators that brought in democratic gun-vernment instead of democratic government.

Ohodo Fed. Poly: Group Kicks Against Appointment Of Prof. Onyeneje As Rector

......Calls For Termination Over Hanging Corruption Charges

Members of the Concerned Citizens of Enugu State (CCES) have petitioned the relevant authorities over the recent appointment of the sacked Rector of the Institute of Management and Technology (IMT) Enugu Prof. Edwin Onyeneje as the new rector of the newly established Federal Polytechnic Ohodo, Igbo-Etiti LGA of Enugu State.

In the petition dated April 12, 2021 signed by members of the group which include Dr. Winifred Asogwa, Dr. Steve Udegbunam, Dr. Mrs. Veronica Ogbodo, Mr. Chukwuma Ugwuagbo and Mr. Onyemaechi Nnaji and copied Chief of Staff to the President of Nigeria, Governor of Enugu State, Honourable Minister of State for Education, Chairman of ICPC, Executive Secretary National Board For Technical Education and National President of Academic Staff Union of Polytechnic (ASUP), the group kicked against the appointment in the light that Prof. Onyeneje was dismissed from office as Rector of IMT after being found wanting of maladministration by Judicial Commission of Inquiry set up by Enugu State Government and has been under prosecution by the Independent Corrupt Practices and other related Comission since then.

The petition reads:
"Following the recent appointment of Principal Officers and Governing Council Members for the new Polytechnics and Colleges of Education, we the undersigned are constrained to alert you that a huge damage, although reversible, has been done to both the change and anti- corruption mantra of the President Muhammadu Buhari (GCFR) administration by the appointment of Professor Edwin Onyeneje as the Rector of the Federal Polytechnic Ohodo, Enugu State.

"Indeed, the people of Enugu State are shocked at what may have informed such a distasteful and embarrassing appointment which in all reasonableness marks a significant reversal of all the measures put in place by this administration to enthrone competence, public probity, and accountability in service. This disappointment and outcry is informed by the following:

1. Professor Edwin Onyeneje was appointed Rector of the Institute of Management and Technology, Enugu in October 2007 and was removed from office in October 2011by the Enugu State Government for generalised incompetence and abdication of responsibility following the withdrawal of accreditation of National Diploma (ND) and Higher Diploma (HND) programmes of IMT by the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE). (see attachment A)
2. A Judicial Commission of Inquiry instituted into the affairs of the Institute of Management and Technology, Enugu on 30th November 2011 by the then Governor of Enugu State of Nigeria, His Excellency, Governor Sullivan Iheanacho Chime, Esq found among others that:

"The immediate past Rector (Professor Onyeneje) of the Institute failed to provide the required leadership in managing the affairs of the Institute especially with regard to the following:
(i) Failure to convene academic board meetings which is the highest decision making organ of the Institute on academic matters and thereby deprived the Institute of the benefit of obtaining the input of very high ranking and experienced colleagues in dealing with challenges in the Institute;
(ii) Failure to pro-actively engage with regulating agencies especially NYSC and NBTE after warning letters were issued to the Institute as far back as June 2011;
(iii) Failure to bring the issues contained in the letters to the attention of Governing Council of the Institute (Council), which should have in turn brought it to the attention of the Visitor;
(iv) Permitting the continuation of HND Public Administration
programme as a course of study in the institution without accreditation by the NBTE;
(v) Authorizing the mobilization of graduands for NYSC Batches A and B 2010/2011, in excess of approved number (The NBTE directed the non-mobilization of the students until the resolution of the matter, but the Rector authorized the mobilization of the
students without further reference to the NBTE.); (vi) Abdication of his duty to the ASREC, Mr. Basil Offoh.
3. The Commission went on to recommend as follows:

“The Commision considered the roles played by the immediate past Rector and other key officers of the Institute leading to non-compliance with academic rules and regulations. In view of this, the Rector and all persons who have held the positions of Deputy Rector, Director of Academic
Planning, Director of School of Business and Head of Department of Public Administration between November 2007 and November 2011 are found culpable for the non-compliance, and are therefore indicted”. (Please, see attachment B)
4. The commission also further recommended that for the breach of several sections of the financial regulations including the payment of the sum of N30,000,000 (thirty million Naira) without payment voucher, the Rector should be held accountable (please see pp 32-35 of the Judicial Commission’s report here attached as attachment C)
5. While the Commission frowned at the sordid financial recklessness exhibited by the said former Rector, it recommended that further action be taken in respect of
the N1,000,000,000 (One Billion Naira) made available to the Institute by the Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TET Fund).

"On invitation by the Institute authorities, ICPC was apprised of the matter, and after an exhaustive investigation, indicted and charged Professor Edwin Onyeneje and three others to the Federal High Court Enugu in SUIT NO.FHC/EN/CR/72/15. So far in the said suit, Professor Onyeneje and three others have made a no case submission, and the Court has ruled that they have a case to answer.
Following from the above, two irrefutable realities objectifying the wrongful and detestable appointment of Professor Edwin Onyeneje as the Rector of Federal Polytechnic Ohodo are, first, that he was removed from office by the Enugu State
Government for a demonstrated incompetence in practically running the State Polytechnic, the Institute of Management and Technology, aground. He was further indicted by a Judicial Commission set up to look into the affairs of Institute. The appointment of Professor Onyeneje gives the impression that the appointing authorities view the actions of NBTE in withdrawing accreditation for all ND and HND courses in IMT under his watch, NYSC in banning IMT from NYSC scheme under his watch and State Government in removing him from office for dereliction of duty and incompetence as inconsequential.
Second, Professor

"Onyeneje is under the indictment of ICPC and currently undergoing prosecution at the Federal High Court Enugu in the matter Ref. FHC/EN/CR/72/15 – Federal Republic of Nigeria Vs (1) Prof. E. Onyeneje, (2) Dr Leonard Ugwu, (3) Elder Frederick Onah, (4) Basil Offoh from which the court has recently ruled that these defendants have case to answer as charged for Stealing, Obtaining by false pretence, Malfeasance in office etc. The appointment of such a high level government official with such a humongous baggage by the Federal Government gives the impression that either no security check was conducted on him, or that his emergence was fraught with unimaginable schemes erected to collapse all fault lines including his indictments and ongoing prosecution by the same Federal Government.
Is this not the same Government that came into office on anti-corruption mantra in 2015 and has been fighting corruption? Is this not the same Government that removed the Director General of National Broadcasting Commission Is’haq Moddibo Kawu from office in February 2020, for being prosecuted by the ICPC for the alleged corruption to the tune of N2.5b? Why now sparing and appointing Prof. Onyeneje that was removed from office as Rector of IMT, and under indictment and prosecution by ICPC as Rector of the newly established Federal Polytechnic Ohodo?

"What message is the Federal Government passing to Nigerians especially the people of Enugu State by such appointment? This is ridiculous and unbelievable. In this respect, we dare ask if the Federal Government does not have confidence in ICPC.
Our surmise is that the appointing authorities have done grave injustice to the people of Enugu State, and damage to NBTE, ICPC, and indeed, the criminal justice system of this country by the appointment of Professor Onyeneje as the Rector of Federal Polytechnic Ohodo. While we leave the NBTE and ICPC to sort out the apparent rubbishing of their regulatory and investigatory roles with their Principal (FGN), we call the attention of the Federal Government to the deleterious consequences of sustaining this appointment.

Action Sought:

We seek an immediate reversal of the appointment of Professor Edwin Onyeneje as the Rector of Federal Polytechnic Ohodo, Enugu State, and have him replaced with another candidate, for the simple reasons of his demonstrated incompetence and indictments in this position previously and his ongoing prosecution by the Federal Government at the Federal High Court, Enugu. Professor Onyeneje should be allowed to purge himself of his criminal indictment already in the Federal High Court of Justice."

Girls are usually the lovers, they are the love fountain in a relationship – girls love easily I guess that is why the holy book only addressed the guys when it said ‘husbands love your wife…’, love to guys requires more effort than the ladies.

However, for some ladies, it is just as easy to fall out of love as they fell in. The word love is used commonly now that it loses its core value, some say ‘I love you’ too quickly in their relationship and when they are supposed to actually kickstart the relationship and say the word is when they lose interest and fall out of love. Set Goals, Work Hard And Smart … Five Principles Of Success You Should Know
The dictionary defines success as achieving your aims or what was intended or achieving a good result and being successful. This definition goes to reveal that success has little or nothing to do with wealth, material accumulation or achievement.

Self-discovery and self- manifestation are cardinal to success because success is influenced by who we are and how we think. In the words of Dr. Myles Munroe, “success is not what you have done compared to what others have done, but what you have done compared to what you were supposed to do."

Captain Fantastic! — Aubameyang’s Heroics Against Liverpool Shows He Can Lead Arteta’s Arsenal Revolution
110 appearances, 71 goals, strikers of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang’s ilk are not easy to come by, especially given the situation of things at Arsenal in the past few seasons.

The Gunners have been a shadow of themselves since Arsene Wenger’s departure with Unai Emery and Freddie Ljungberg — his two immediate successors — failing to provide the needed results during their stints at the club. The Unending Massacre Of Igbo Youths
Since the dawn of the present constitutional democracy where every free citizen is supposed to have unfettered freedom to associate with whoever he wants, within the ambit of law, it has become customary for Nigerian security agencies to be sniffing for wherever Igbo youths are gathering with a view to attacking them.

It may not be possible to offhandedly enumerate the number of such instances, or to give the accurate number of people so far felled in such attacks, but suffice it to say that their number counts in dozens, while the casualty figures run into four digits [Read more: https://www.crispng.com/the-unending-massacre-of-igbo-youths/

ASUU strike, Keyamo’s argument and testimony of the patriots

Talking about national development, a glance at the news headlines across the world points to the fact that getting the children off the streets and making quality and affordable education available for them is one of the cardinal steps that must be taken by government to achieve such a programme..

Separate from the consideration that education is the bedrock of development of any nation, there is an accompanying belief that the streets are known for breeding all sorts of criminals and other social misfits who constitutes the real threats in the forms of armed robbers, drug addicts, prostitutes, drunkards and other social ills that gives a society bad name.

‘End of Days’: How Sylvia Browne predicted conoravirus outbreak in 2008

Truth is there would always exist a form of warning or prediction about things in the world, but how well do our leaders take these predictions into consideration?
In the book ‘End of Days (predictions about the end of the world)’ written in 2008, Slyaa Browne, American author, tackles the most daunting of subjects with her trademark clarity, wisdom, and serenity by answering: what’s coming in the next 50 years?
What the prophecies of the book of revelation mean, and what will unfold in the world’s final hours?
“In around 2020 a severe pneumonia-like illness will spread throughout the globe, attacking the lungs and bronchial tubes and resisting treatments. Almost more baffling than the illness itself will be the fact that it will suddenly vanish as quickly as it arrived…”

Lying for a living: How Lagos ‘Corporate Beggars’ fleece unsuspecting residents of their money with pathetic stories

About 8:00 am on a Monday morning, Tayo, as he simply identified himself, tried to meander his way through a thick line of people along a pedestrian bridge at Ojodu-Berger area of Lagos, Nigeria’s economic hub.

Clad in a well-ironed long-sleeved shirt, a black trouser and a neatly polished black shoe, his look suggests that of someone on an official assignment racing against time.

As he sauntered through the crowd of residents rushing to their various destinations, he looked very observant, trying to sift his potential ‘client’.

“Oga, can you help me with any amount? I work in Ibadan but I visit my people in Lagos on weekends. I was robbed this morning on my way to the park and was dispossessed of the money of what I had on me,”

RomanceHow To Deal With An Abusive Relationship by CrispyLiz(op): 3:26pm On Feb 25, 2020
How to deal with an abusive relationship

I was at the mall on Friday where I went to see a movie. I had like an hour before the movie was scheduled to start so I went and took a seat at the waiting area. As I was going through my phone, I overheard the heated conversation going on between a guy and his girlfriend who were sitting at the same table I was.

Being the nosy girl I’ve always been (cut me some slack nah. I be mass communicator. Lol), I tuned into their conversation. The guy was pissed at the girl. Reason was because she had told him she wanted to see a movie and asked if he would accompany her.

According to the guy, he sees movies as a “form of distraction” and so he didn’t want to come out with her. Don’t ask me why he was there. I don’t know either.
