TheGoodJoe:
Keep in mind, two exceptional defensive shields were Mascherano at Liverpool and Makalele at Chelsea. Flamini in his hay days was exceptional too. Gatusso did a fantastic work shielding the Milan defence.

So it must not be a big man, although most good fours are big men. Players like Busquets, Mikel Obi, Edmilson, Casemiro, Wanyama, Nzonzi etc.
which of our midfielders have d qualities of masherano or gatuso?? but we have big men who can do the job the likes of ogu, esiti,Mikel agu etc

Apart from Awaziem, we fielded a team with playing experience. We just got the set up wrong.
I am not talking about only experience am also talking about quality elderson played woefully as LB,our forwards lacked the creativity to create deadly chances, the passes by our midfielders were too simple and predictable, the defenders lacked a leader someone who could instruct them to play well. our blocking dmf wasn't just good enough.
The players I mentioned here if given the chance would perform better than those that played.
The wings isn't all about speed and shooting our wingers lackrf vision and creativity they were just running aimlessly. An aluko would hv changed that game. slow calm and visionary wingers are very important to a team. So is the deep Dmf an experienced defender and a good goal keeper all this we lacked in the starting xi against SA yesterday.

Good players dey rohr no go invite na academy players baba dey find here are some players I think should have been invited to the national team.
Manuel akanji (it's so sad we lost these one)
igali
sone aluko
ajagun
ideye(hasn't been invited in recent times)
Thiago ilori (dude would play the RB role better than the players we have)
nedum onuoha (experienced CB)

Let Ndidi play it. He also played as a central defender and his defensive instinct is good. Esiti needs to do more than sit because of his passing. Ndidi has the attributes to make a good defensive shield.
no doubt ndidi is a good dmf but he's better playing as a roaming midfielder a big man is most suitable for the deep playing role I would prefer a midfield that consist of iwobi or ajagun (in mikel's absence) ndidi, onazi or etebo(roaming midfielder) john ogu,Mikel agu or esiti(deep role MF).
By the way I don't know why rohr can't invite igali or this our boy that plays in Spain have forgotten his name sef.Cus sentiments apart akpeyi is wack.

We have plenty natural attacking midfielders but some people no wan make dem play for Nigeria.

Ajagun dey dere, Aluko dey dere, Onomah dey dere and Raheem Lawal dey dere. grin Though Iwobi also dey dere.
if person clamour for the invitation of ajagun or aluko naw dem go talk say na sentiments. our midfield needs a big man like ogu or esiti to play the deep role

The major things I learnt this game are
Nigeria has no NO9 ihenancho is naturally a supporting striker
We need to recall Vincent enyeama our goal keeping department is rubbish
We need an attacking midfielder a natural one
No playing chemistry between these players
Rohr got the tactics wrong by playing air balls over a very physical team like south Africa.

This goalkeeping issue is serious oo well i recommend some solutions.
Austin ejide should be called to the national team at least he's a better option to akpeyi.
This ligali boy should be invited since he plays at the top division in france let's see what he has to offer.
Dele alampasu should be tested in some friendly games to see if he's ready for the super eagles.
Emmanuel daniel should be invited.
All this keepers should be tested and drilled and the best should be chosen.

Chelsea youngster Ola Aina 'persuaded' to represent Nigeria rather than England

The Nigerian Football Federation believes it has secured the international futures of five youngsters this week

The Nigeria Football Federation believes it has persuaded England under-20 international Ola Aina to represent them as part of a number of new English-born or English-raised recruits for the Super Eagles.

Nigeria have been based in Barnet for this international break, drawing 1-1 with Senegal on Thursday evening. They were due to play Burkina Faso on Monday night but that game was cancelled when the Burkinabe players could not secure visas.

More importantly, the NFF has been inviting English-based players to train with them, to introduce them to the squad and the staff, and believes it has secured the international futures of five youngsters this week. The NFF is keen to strengthen its squad with English-based players ahead of next year’s World Cup in Russia.

 Chelsea's36players out on loan

Ola Aina is the most famous name, the 20-year-old right back having made five senior appearances for Chelsea this season. Aina, who was born in south London, has represented England at under-16, u-17, u-18, u-19 and u-20 level. He won the last of his six England u-20 caps one year ago today, in an England team alongside Harry Winks and Marcus Rashford.

But Aina has been training with Nigeria in Barnet over the last few days, and has now decided that his international future lies with them. He is expected to be in the Nigeria squad for their next competitive game, a 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier, at home to South Africa on 9 June.

Eberechi Eze, the Queens Park Rangers 18-year-old who signed his first professional deal in January and made his debut this season has also been in training with the Nigeria squad on Sunday and Monday. He is expected to make a final decision soon as is thought to be strongly leaning towards choosing Nigeria.

Fred Onyedinma was not part of the Nigeria training camp having played for Millwall in their 1-0 defeat to Swindon Town on Saturday afternoon. But the 20-year-old, who was born in Lagos and moved to east London when he was three, is thought to be close to committing his future to Nigeria too. READ MORE

The NFF are also confident that they have secured the future of Josh Maja, the 18-year-old Sunderland forward, although he did not train with them this week, and Joe Aribo, the 20-year-old Charlton Athletic midfielder signed from Staines Town in 2015.

Recruiting players would represent a significant success for the NFF after persuading Alex Iwobi of Arsenal to play for them, after Iwobi had played for England up to Under-18s level. After the success of this week, the NFF will turn their attention to their next target, Everton winger Ademola Lookman. The 19-year-old, who played for England Under-20s against France on Saturday, was born in London to Nigerian parents but has not yet decided on his senior international future.

Hmmmm, I can see the youths voicing out their anger. What u don't know is that the situation you are complaining about someone is praying to be there. At least u still HV Money to buy mb comment for nairaland. No matter ur situation or victim of what u have become a hero lies in you. U can't just sit ur lazy ass down and comment on nairaland about ur plight. The difference between u and those in power is their ability to think outside the box and do something for their selves.
Whenever situations like this arise a hero is needed. U can lead a protest, write about the situation. There are so many ways u can be a revolutionary. And make a name for yourself. Am advising u to do something about your current situation and help others around u too.

just got the device I must say it's OK for the price. The battery lasted 6hrs on heavy usage, no lags,it multitasks well, I was a little bit disappointed with the camera I expected more from a 13mp/5mp camera. The gaming experience is awesome played mortal combat x,injustice god among us,FIFA 16,and gangster Vegas all working flawlessly. The speaker was loud at first buh when I installed d update it's terrible at mid volume u can just hear a little buh it's clear at the loudest volume.
The display is crystal clear. The UI is simple and easy to use the notification light works well. the battery is removable and the phone received OTA update.
