it is possible. those ponds that are more exposed to sunlight will have a higher pH. so it depends on sunlight exposure.

Hello House pls is it possible for 3 ponds to have different ph and dia source of water is dsame and also I pump water to d 3 ponds at dsame time and now dia ph is 7.2, 8.2 & 9.3 respectively.

I Need Help Very Urgent
I discover dt my fish are not really eating very well so I took my time to study dem very well today so I discover dt d food I gave dem in d morin is still in dis stomach dt is d reason dey dnt eat very well in d evening.
So from my observation dey dnt really swim up and down after I feed dem in d morin dey only stay in one Conner dt hav little shed so during d evening dey start to dey swim round d pond so it means dt bcs dia is direct light inside d pond during d day dt is d reason dey dnt swin round d pond so d solution is for me to cover d pond so am asking u my bosses dt wht can I use to cover d pond dt will nt hav another side effect on d fish. thks

To culture fish no easy oooo; I was on annual leave but could not travel cos of my fish.
The fish make noise every night, thank God my neighbours are not complaining.The are all part of the business venture. There is even one that has finrot, I have treated with oxyac.. , ash and salt and expect improvement .

Fish scamper for feed a lot especially when they are grown. Try and increase your bearing while feeding, throw the feed backwards a bit from that spot. dont worry the wounded will surely survive the cuts.

Oga fzore hav said it all bt if u have extra pond u can jst do sorting so d big once will dey somewhere and d small one in another pond. thks

Hello to all my Oga's I am planning to stock my pond next week by God grace bt d pond is directly to d sun so am planning to use Black Lyon to cover it direct bt my question is that hope if there is no direct air to d fish hope it wont affect there growing rate badly or have another side effect on them. thks

The tips are based on my own observation and different experiment. I'm sure it will go a long way for those that adopt it. I'm not a good writer, so I might not be able to compose it well, wetin mata pass na make una pick the point wey go they useful. If you don't understand any of the tips or wanna ask about anything pertaining to hatching you can post it here make the elders of this forum contribute join

* if you are a christian, muslim, babalawo, etc put GOD first in anything you do. This one is very crucial
* you must have the zeal to dab into hatching because its not that easily and when things are not going the right way you will lose a lot of money (d amount of mony I lose dat period fit train pikin from creche to ss2) but persistence and consistence matters as far as you know what you are looking for
* whenever you want to hatch don't rush, take your time to plan everything and make sure all you wanna use is in order before spawning
Dis d way I do mine
* i will prepare one vat for spawning and another vat to transfer the hatclings the next day when they drop
* before I hatch I make sure my water ph is 7.0 and I allow the water to rest 4 extra 2day so it will settle (even though its turbid) then I will use foam to clean all dirt under the water that's before introducing the hatchlings to the vat
* I clean my water because I noticed that if my vat is slippery, it results to mortality. Can't prtove the cause behind that sha
* make sure your vat has no pot hole cos I notice fish gather their when they are weak and die massively their
* maintain a low water during the first 2 weeks
* on the second and third day I remove bad eggs that I might have mistakenly transfered into the vat before feeding them
* make sure you cover you vat cos they are photophobic in nature and run away from light during that period. If you open you vat down they might just lay flat at the bottom of the pond which might make feeding hard
* on the fourth day I start feeding them, na here palava dey start. What I studied about this hatchling is that thgey don't need drugs during that period if your practise is OK. the 10 days of this hatchling before they start dying, they need a HIGHLY NATURAL PROTENOUS feed and when you give them you will notice a change in their colour to dark black and a slight increment in size. What I do this period is that I over feed them cautiously and avoid wastage. I feed dem at intervals and I start siphoning on the 5th day
* I prefer using dafinna but if I can't get it I use artemia
*siphoning start on the 5th day I do it every day with the smallest size of hose I could get from the market to reduce the pulling pressure. Though it takes time but I worth it cos the pressure won't b able to siphon much hatchlings out off ur vat.
* during this period the hatchlings are visibly weak and I guess it start from the 8-9th day or so, so make sure u don't stress dem AT ALL. During this period I off or reduce my aerator, I don't do flow throw or anything that can stress the hatchlings
* I make sure I clean the vat again o the 7th and 10th day again
*i don't do flowthrough during dis period, all I do is release my tap abit and water comes out as a drop all day long
* only those hatchligs that didn't develop during this period ar the ones that will die but the black one go strong kakara pass THE ROCK
* after 14 days I transfer them to my pond and dats all

So tips may have skipped my mind but I will update as soon as I remember. Any addition, subtraction or question is allowed.

Oh i see.
I get Vital feed for N4600 and Top feed for N4300. The Top feed is not always readily available and so i make do with Vital feed.

I think dey use to sell dt topfeed at N4000 and vitafeed N4700 at Abk.

Mak I start my story
It all started april 12 last year, then I went 2 buy broodstocks from a farm because I needed 2 hatch and all my broodstocks were not ready, so I used it the following day to hatch and it was cool (1st palava). Problem started some few day after the hatching when I started noticing massive death in the fries which I don't experience, I was lik wetin dey happen oo till all my fries go back from were dem dey come. I just locked up. Tho I had fingerlings in my remaining ponds and I was ignorant about using drugs because I don't use it at all.
So I just decided to chill for my broodstock abit since I had some fingerlings at hand, so I continued my operation as normal (2nd palava) even when it was obvious my farm was infected already. It started like film when all fingerlings started dying and the most funniest part but painful was dat I counted abt 10k pieces for a customer to pick the following dayn before the next day all my fish don go meet baba God. Omo my brain almost scattered that a.m, thought like my villa people don get me for this one was on my mind.
So all my dead fishes I gave them to my broodstock (3rd palava), then I washed my pond and vat with salt and water (4th palava). When my broodstocks were ready I started my production back with the mindset that this people can't get me, God pass dem. After my production after 3 days I noticed massive death and it continued like for over a year during which I did over 50 production (some people might not belief but that's the truth) cos I stopped counting when the thing don dey too much.
During this period I turn true born again, I start to dey go church by 6.30 even when sunday school they start 8.30, I no miss digging deep and faith clinic, me wey I like slip I no miss night vigil, me wey I no fit pray 4 long my prayers last more than an hour, d one wey fear me pass was one night I went 2 my farm 2 pray naso one bird make one noise like that omo I leave my bible run commot 4 farm *smile*
During this period it wasn't funny cos I lost a lot, spent a lot. I did new borehole cos I thought my well was the problem, pour all my food away when I got 2 know my artemia was no longer good, went to different farm and observe how they run things, etc mehn I tire till I drained all my cash and started borrowing again

My finger don dey pepper me and eyes don dey close, will post about the cause of my problem and how I was able 2 over come but e no easy oo and I belief mere reading alone most people would be able to point out my error then, tho I wasn't a novice when all this occur but when problem pass problem wey come carry problem 4 head, back and hand omo u go humble

Sorry for ur losses and let me tell u something u are nt d only experience such a things even some are even worst dan urs bt I knw dt wit God everything will normalize itself bck very soon dan wht u can even think of.
to wht u said I believe dt ur pond is seriously infected so u need to disinfect it u can get formaline watch it very well wit it and u can even pump water inside ur pond and pour d formaline inside it for like 3 days and drain d water and put fresh water and also do u use to check ur water ph. dt one is also important.

Digital PH meter is 8500. It's preferable because it's more accurate and precise. Though should be handled with caution. Some of them reads temperature too.

pls wht is d name of d one dt can read temperature as well. thks
