She said: “It has come to the notice of the Rivers State Government that some persons claiming to be staff of the Rivers State Government Ministry of Sports have been protesting an alleged eight months non- payment of salary. “While the Government of Rivers State will not wish to join issues with the demonstrators, it wishes to note that all civil servants employed by the Government of Rivers State have been paid salaries up to the month of March with plans to commence payment of April salaries. “The Rivers State Government has continued to ensure the payment of staff salaries because it believes that the welfare of its workers must be paramount in governance.” SHARE ON

The PDP in R/S accused the governor of dying minute looting of Rivers treasury as a major cause of the RSG not being able to pay its staff.
The governor in a counter statement, denied the allegations and promised he'll pay every salary, arrears and debts incurred by his administration before he leaves office on the 29th of this month...
This calls for celebration huh?

Today is the last day of April, and by a natural convention, I'm expecting my April salary (+Arrears) while my other colleagues are still expecting March salary? This is pathetic, but I believe more than 60% of y'all will be alerted today
