Abia state is not as rich as Rivers state. We should learn to appreciate the little other governors are doing in their states... Remember that Benue state workers will be going on a pay-cut to finance its primary school teachers that have been on strike for over 8 months

Good news to all the doubting Thomases and believers. I'm from ASARI--TORU (UBE) and my colleagues were paid their first salary on February, which I did not receive due to account errors.

I started receiving my first salary from March and has always been paid one month until this June's salary when I got my alert and was paid for both February and June.

This is a true testimony from me and a flash of hope that our arrears will soon be paid.

The fiscal year (or sometimes budget year) in Nigeria runs through 01-April to 31-March the next year. Eg, last years budget started 01-APR-2013 and will end on 31-MAR-2014. So, Amaechi will be fooling himself and about 12,999 persons (excluding me) if we're not being paid till the end of March this year and start using Wike and/or Evans Bipi as the faces behind the screen for not paying us.

Amaechi, is by default the father of Rivers State. So if anything is not right in our state, we as true children of the state have the right to criticise the governor. Amaechi himself won't be angry at seeing us criticise him, once your statements aren't insulting.
On this note, it amazes me when somebody will just come up and start defending the governor when he is been criticised. Most of such persons haven't even sat and dined with him for once.
I'm a true follower of Amaechi and he's to be blamed for all our sufferings + the effects it will have on the innocent students cos me for one person will only go to school twice this month and that trend may continue as long as I'm not paid

Rivers State government yesterday, paid 10k to 200 persons in each ward in Rivers State. Do the maths and you'll realise that that value is achievable by the FGN.

But isn't it obvious, even to a blind man, that this payment thing is a scam? I would be personally disappointed if any person who knows how to read and write (not to talk of a graduate) falls for such a cheap scam setting!

If you were educated enough, you would've known that the money paid is used as account opening (which you can still withdraw). Secondly, the firm used is a well known bank that wouldn't involve themselves in a cheap scandal unless they come out openly to deny the process. I didn't do it for personal reasons but i will advice we'd allow those interested to go on and get theirs done

A peaceful protest is a right to every living soul (whether on probation or parole). Though i don't buy the idea of protesting for whatever reason now, considering the political atmosphere of the state, the governors' political rivals will end up using our protest to stir more noise and political points against the governor

As for me, it is a big pity that my students Wȋ̊ℓℓ not be learning anything meaningful from me until I'm being FULLY PAID. It might not be the best option but the government has played the drum and I Wȋ̊ℓℓ be dancing to the tone.

With these happening to us, i think we can use the same social media by exposing the slave trade we're going through in the hands of these NICCURS by sharing the message on facebook, whatsapp, viber, bbm, twitter and so on. We can come up with an accepted hash tag on twitter.
If all of us do it together and urge our friends to keep sharing and talking about it, i think it will be the right step in the right direction.

@Fifia, i was with some civil servants yesterday (around 3pm) when they got alert. They were even jumping and celebrating that the amount they deducted now wasn't as harsh as b4.
