why would you give a dumb answer that I didn't ask you?you don't know why im asking.u just jumped into conclusion as if I have hidden agenda.to my uk nurse,I'm only asking maybe u did spouse visa.im asking on behalf my bro & his nurse wife.
It is dependent visa and it is different from spousal visa. Infact it was because of this confusion we concluded he need to stay back. If he wants to go with his wife he needs to pay for IHS which is 1200, visa 464 all in pounds and his flight. He might not have to worry about accommodation for at least two months (my employers were willing to get a family accommodation for us). If he has children, the charges would definitely add up as per child.

Please can you tell us in a clear language what to look out for. What and what. Plz
They should be plain and everything should be well spelt out on prints. Watch out for professionalism, and consistency. Verify information yourself. Then ask questions and be satisfied. Remember no one is doing you a favor.

I learnt to be creative with food by force

TravelRe: Adventures Of A UK Bound Nurse by crushsugar(op): 11:57pm On Jul 27, 2019
What have I been eating? Food
I'm not very adventurous with food so, I have not eaten English dishes yet save Burger, pick, fish and chips. I have also tried 2 Philipinos food because the coast was clear(fish and meat )
So, basically I eat rice and stew, bread and tea and fruits. I finally got a shop where they sell Asian dishes and luckily for me they stock Okro. Finally made my favorite soup even though I still don't understand the kind of fish I bought but the feeling was out of this world. I have been given description for Afro shop Sha. Would check it out soon.

These people no dey use weekend play. I thought we loved flexing back home but it's nothing compared to the way they do not take their leisure for granted.
They would travel to places for holidays, there's always somewhere to go on weekends lol. Personally I've done few outings probably more than all I have done in one year back home because in my mind I was busy working. Guess what? Me too don dey plan where I go spend my next holiday. wink

It's been a while.
I'm sorry for my absence
Combination of work, training, and OSCE preparations.
It's been one month in England and I have not regretted my choices even in my pre-registered state.

why did you not go with your husband?
First of all, we had spent money on mine.
We felt we wouldn't be able to handle to the cost. Moreover, we didn't want to just leave without checking out our destination.
Looking back I would say it probably would have been easier for us to leave at the same time.

I finally went to church today.
I was actually sceptical about it cos our styles are different but it felt like home for me.
I decided to wear my short lace gown to church.
Service started at 11am with preaching. When the preacher was done he said we should go for break. Lol...it sounded strange and awkward but we went o.
Took coffee and biscuit and I and my colleagues landed on a round table. It was very informal as we talked about so much, with total strangers. The new comer feeling left. There was this wonderful lady who has been working voluntarily in Africa who told me about how we give even from the little we have and how we are close with family and friends unlike them; that is a plus to us Africans.Got so many remarks about my dress o grin lol
After break, church continued till 1pm.
It is not as intense as what I am used to but I enjoyed it with it's simplicity.

This is my 3rd weekend here and I am glad I took the bold step.
The people around are very courteous, nice, friendly and humble.
I don't think I will get comfortable with calling my grandmother's mate by name but these people don't mind.
Patients here are awesome but it doesn't stop me from using my head.
I can't count the number of times my colleagues and I were talking photos on the street and passersby would wait till we are done or even volunteer to do it for us, or random people smiling at me when our eyes meets(my smiling level has increased), or someone waiting to keep the door open after they must have passed because they know you are using it too.

The credentials are more like transcripts and results right? Is there any disadvantage in using agent? (like bond of 2yrs being under them or what)
Notification of result and certificate also.
The advantage of using agent is that you would have people who would be organized enough to handle the processes involved especially with submission of documents and all other logistics, it takes commitment and experience with good communication.
So, most employers would give out the contract to agencies to handle.
Please do not pay any agency
Do not sign any contract with any agency no matter how harmless. Your employment contract must be clear and must be from your employer.
I have heard of direct recruitments also.

Hello ma'am,

Can you be able to share the recruitment company you used for the processing, a sample of cv, and any specific band needed for the IELTS?

That notwithstanding, can someone who recently graduated be able to apply for nursing job in the UK.. Had enough clinical experience....

I am asking for a friend who I believe it would be of use to.... has ielts though I don't know the band scores yet.

Cc nemsey, charisjay, queengift
I used Neuprofessionals
Speaking ,7
Reading 7
Listening 7
Writing 6.5
Yes, they now allow recent graduates but you need to have your credentials ready for nmc applications.
I have shared a sample CV Neuprofessionals sent me some time ago

Exactly bro, developed countries don't joke with experienced medical personnels.
Exactly
When I think about it, I still feel like it's time wasted.
Don't get me wrong, I love nursing but we can't compete out there because we have not advanced so much with technology and ICT. cry
And we grow slowly careerwise.

Everywhere looking clean and organized
Actually, this is a ward that was closed down temporarily due to an outbreak I am not presently sure of.
But ordinarily; clean yes, organized is relative. With everyone busy on th ward, it is not as organized as this

My ward experience
Resumption was 7am unlike our conventional 8
Handing over information have already been printed out and handed to all nurses and HCA taking over.
After handing over, I was taken round and put in a team.
Every documentation is on computer.
9am nurse in charge said I should go for break (this is the first time I am hearing break in more than 7yrs of practice), I was like, I don't want, she said I must go and take coffee or something. That's how I went to sit and chat a bit in the room .
I later realized that I have access to bread, tea or coffee and spread during that break.
Of course, another break starts by 12(lunch) after which our training continued.
Do I have any regrets so far?
No
I only miss swallow smiley

Today was my first day working on the ward.
Basically there are 9 hour and 12 hour shifts. And work time is about 37.5 hours weekly. That's why there are opportunities for second jobs.

Have you gotten your nmc decision letter?
Or can one go to UK before getting decision letter?
I'm still yet to get my decision letter.
Some employers will want you to get your decision letter before coming, others don't mind.

Day 3 at work.
It's been trainings all the way.
From OSCE training to infection, control, IT, library induction
We have our ID's which serves as access to the wards, systems, library, discounts, uniforms have been collected though we are waiting for the newly introduced ones, ward familiarization.
Many more to come as the days go by.
It's been interesting and we are getting busy.
