SOLARPOWER1: As a nurse, if I want to bring my spouse along to the UK using the CBT route, what are the requirements with respect to proof of funds for my spouse and does my spouse need to provide IELTS also On your certificate of sponsorship, your employer should have ticked that they are willing to support your dependants financially so you do not need any proof of funds. She doesn't need ielts |

duchessmojisola: Hi everyone Please do agencies in UK offer jobs to pregnant women (first trimester) to work as a nurse after passing their CBT and IELTS? Kindly reply ASAP Thanks in anticipation. I don't know anyone but just let them know you are pregnant while sorting your application. Remember it is going to be stressful for you financially especially with no relatives around and you might not be entitled to full maternity leave and pay because they require you to have at least worked for a year before being entitled to full maternity leave and pay. |

famzynet: Hello Crushsugar, please for a spouse in the Uk that studied education management in the university in Nigeria before migration, how can that person progress from health care assistant to nursing? What is your view about nursing compared to teaching in the UK assuming interest is constant in both? With what I have heard, teaching pay better. Anyone is really a good choice if the passion is there. Healthcare assistants is usually without qualifications. So the person has to do a degree in nursing by full time or apprenticeship. |

dubaiprince: Hello crushsugar. I have been following this thread and found it very informative. God bless you. Please what would be your advice for someone recently offered a job in the UK on a tier 2 visa with 4 dependants (a wife and 3 kids)? The company will only reimburse travelling and direct visa application expenses for me and none of my dependants and i dont have the financial muscle to sponsor all of them till i get there and start working.
Is it advisable to go to the UK alone first and bring them over within the next 6 months when i must have made enough? Is application for a tier 2 dependant visa over there seamless?
You anticipated response is highly appreciated. 4 dependants is alot of money so, it is advisable to come alone first and by 6 months you can afford to sponsor them. If you can afford to sponsor your wife now, it might make it easier for you because she will not struggle to get at least a care assistant job then both of you can work toward bringing your children as soon as possible. It is still your plans to make though. |

For the NYSC, it depends on your long term plans. You know Naija and youth service wahala. |

Omonihobae: Good day please i have some questions @cruahsugar pls how is care assistant in UK?And can someone with degree in human anatomy apply from Nigeria? pls anyone with information can inform me am really interested thank you For care assistant position? That is almost impossible to do, most employers would not want to spend to sponsor care assistants from another country because it doesn't need any qualifications so it can be done by anyone and it's becoming competitive in teaching hospitals. |

EbonyCy: @crushsugar pls I want to ask a question or better still seek your opinion following the part of nursing,I have found out that going through jamb, post ume is one process I'm scared about especially in aspect of ASUU strike et al.
Then school of nursing the rigidity is much,u must live in the school premises if you are single...its not going to be easy as I still need to hustle to foot my bills.
so I googled, and read that one can go for nursing through post graduate studies although I saw just two schools that do that for now.. please what do you think,is it advisable doing a PGD in nursing, can it fetch me a job in the UK, can it also fetch me a job here in Nigeria (federal hospital job),
Pls advise ma I know that you can gain registration here and work here after doing the PGd but I don't know if it is accepted in Nigeria. |

Igbasonproff1: @ Crushsugar, are there any medical conditions that could prevent one from being granted Visa or even practising over there? If there are, please can you mention them? Thanks. I know about TB. That is all they would test you for before the Visa. Others like HIV and hepatitis is a personal discussion one will have with occupational health but no employer is supposed to reject anyone because of these. |

I have been thinking about what to post this period that our movement is home and work. It is allowed to take walk though and this picture is from our evening walk today. What I want to share is what I have noticed about British people. 1. They are hardworking and believe you work to earn money except some persons who are proud to keep receiving benefits. In my opinion, these are the minority group. They are ready to work overtime to pay their extra bills like holidays, saving to buy a house, phone, electronics etc.
2. British people will not dash you money for no reason.
3 . They cannot Express emotions like us. Like being upset, they way they look upset is nothing compared to a Nigerian that is upset. So, you might not actually know someone is angry just because they show it differently.
4. They hardly hoot while driving. In fact the only sound I have ever heard on the road is siren. Someone had even told us that if you hear someone horn, that person is probably very angry with you. The only people that maybe use their signal is bicycle riders but rarely. They are very patient on the road.
5. They can talk wella. We believe in keeping things to ourselves but them no care.
These are the ones I can remember now. Stay safe.

famzynet: For a salary of £40,000 ,your take home will be around £ 2500. Saving money to relocate is something you have to figure it. Work and save, get loan, borrow from family, family help etc. You can go to UK.gov to clarify your doubts. Tax is 20% of your earnings beneath 50, 000. Meanwhile your first 12,500 for the tax year is not taxed. It is alot but not when you keep thinking about it. I think it is a fair deal. |

DrLuv: hi all, I am very sorry if i appear to derail your thread with a rather bizzarre inquiries of mine.
I heard there is a form of accelerared nursing programme in the UK for those with a Bsc.
I have not been able to get hold of some valid information about this.the little information i have is that if one has a BSc, one can apply for a MSc in nursing making one eligible to be registered withNMC.
unfortunately I do not have anymore information about this pathway.I would not know if anyone on this platform can help me with this info or there is some1 somewhere who took or is on this route to get registered with NMC or there is any Thread to this respect.
please I tender my apology once again for this derailing inquiries.
Many thanks I have seen one somewhere. I would share it whenever I find it again. |

yugotee: Please your advice is urgently needed:
I am a double qualified Nurse RN and RPN ready to migrate to UK. My Nursing experience however, has been in general nursing. I intend pursuing Psychiatric nursing with my qualifications but have limited years of experience. In the NMC registration for CBT exams should I opt for the Mental Health or Adult/General Nursing.
What is the flow for Mental Health CBT as well as Adult Nursing CBT? I would appreciate if I can get study materials for both so as to make up my mind asap. Please send the cbt study materials to yugoberryt@gmail.com. Thank you.. Most employers don't mind your experience at this time. I don't have current cbt materials. Please check mentor Merlin online . I used Envertiz app also. You should find stuffs there. |

famzynet: Hello crushsugar, how is the covid 19 fight in your area? It must really be overwhelming. Does your hospital provide you with the necessary protective gears? Are you satisfied with them? How is your family ,especially your hubby coping with the reality in UK as compared to Nigeria where the cases are still comparatively few? I just want to hear from you. It's quite long you chatted with your fans and followers. Thank you so much. My hospital has been providing protective equipments and yo a satisfactory level. Generally in the UK, there have been shortage of PPE but they somehow just sort it out. We are coping o. Staying at home most of the time. If we have to go out, people avoid each other along the road. Thanks for checking up on me. |

Good evening my people. Hope we are staying safe? Here, everywhere is on lockdown except for healthcare and food providers but you can't visit these places anyhow. Relatives can't visit patients except in cases where the person is dying but not from covid. Shops have reduced the working hours and people even avoid going there at all cost and preferably order groceries online. Streets are empty. People avoid each other on the streets at all cost. If they see someone coming their way, they cross to the other side or when the road is narrow, wait or go through the lawn.
