Generally, I would say it was a great start especially with knowing everyone is committed to making my stay comfortable. |

Today was officially my first day at my work place. We are yet to visit the wards but active training sessions are held for us in preparation for OSCE and acclimatizing to our new setting giving the differences in backgrounds |
ymarts:Diploma Overall band was 7.5 S-8 R-7.5 L-8 W-6.5 You know what you are looking out for, they are almost similar benefits from employers but you can look out for what you are most comfortable with. There are plenty of agencies and hospital to choose from. |
LOSKYXANDER:It depends on the job. When they need you, you'll get it. There are other jobs on the shortage occupation list. You can check them out. It's just about your arrangements. |
Trenton:Lol Would do that |
Trenton:Lol I actually thought He is from Aba ![]() |
STENON:Thank you |
Abkreizi:Lol Diaris hope o |
Godian45:I really don't know about pharmacists, but I there was a thread I followed some time ago that talked about it. You can always check for their sites. I have discovered that in UK, they put everything online. |
4dor:I do have maps. It just didn't work that day |
ecstacy29:It's not been funny and they keep saying it is summer, a low 18 degrees. I will cope |
queengift:After IELTS, you have every employer/agents running after you because they are in need of nurses. It wasn't difficult at all. It is possible to apply directly to a hospital but by my own observations, it is more stressful. I applied through an agency. Please do not pay any agent because they are being paid by the employers for their job. After my IELTS, I sent my CV to my agency which I consider very professional, judging from the openness on their site. They set me up for a Skype interview, and I got the job. After that all the paper work began and I took the CBT exam; UK Nursing competency part 1 exam. The part 2 which is OSCE would be done in the UK. I hope I have answered your questions correctly. |
Hadampson:Ok Thanks |
Abkreizi:I'm sorry about that. I'll get these pictures ASAP. |
You can also get stuffs within your budget. I discovered, one can actually get stuffs that are very much ok at discounted prices. For example, there is a pound land shop where everything you buy including shower gels, body sprays, creams, milk, umbrella, and other essentials are sold at 1 pound. Even outside the pound land shop, it depends on how you want to live your life. Flexing full everywhere, name them, bars, restaurants, clubs.... The temptation to always eat junks is also there. |
For shopping, my personal observation is you get whatever you want cos they are always available. It takes a whole lot of discipline not to buy recklessly because there are more than enough things out there that would get your attention. |
I'm amazed at how these people preserve historical structures for years and how they maintain their properties. Their houses are old but beautifu, strong and clean.

So, yesterday was so busy for me. Our agency director took us out for sightseeing and bought us ice cream thereafter, we went to the post office to collect our BRP but they had not arrived, afterwards, we went to the bank to open accounts. See how them dey handle us with care. Every of the personnel who came asked us if we wanted anything. They just made sure we were comfortable. My battery almost went off, the guy who opened my account went lengths to get me an Android charger as most of them use iPhones. Imagine him telling me he would love to come to Nigeria soon and that he loved Nigerian football and footballers. He mentioned names like Vincent Enyeama, Victor Moses, Mohammed Musa. Such a lively person.

Back to this city, it's cool yet has everything I need,no noise, clean and organized. Everyone is minding their business but if you ask they respond well and ready to help. My little observation. By the way, their accent is confusing at times. My first night, was ok. Just still tired from the trip. Pictures coming soon |
The same passport scrutiny happened when I finally got to London, I don't understand why I have a work visa on my passport and someone is asking me to show different evidence from my new work place. It was awkward and embarrassing but I pulled through . Please keep something with a letter head handy especially your appointment letter which I couldn't find yesterday of all days but I used the letter containing my job description. But being attended to longer than everyone else is not cool |
This was about 8:50 pm. Very bright, so all those while I was missing my way, day suppose don dark.

Hello guys. I'm sorry for my absence, it's been very long for me. I'm finally at my apartment. Got to Manchester this afternoon and took a train to my new base. My recruitment agency manager picked me up from the train station to the house. I realized that I needed essentials like bathing soap, body lotion, toothpaste, detergent, so I took a walk to the city centre but couldn't get my way back to the apartment. Na so I Waka tire till the same manager cane alongside with her husband to pick me up. They stopped by a fast food and bought me something to eat. Though I was embarrassed, they were actually excited that I was touring their city. Weather report; it is so cold(18°C). But they are telling me it's quite hot. |
faheez:Thank you |
Small gist. Imagine they had to call the attention of someone to cross check my passport and visa again. Annoying I must say. |
Ready to board for Manchester

Drenimarcus:Lol No. As at when I boarded, I was the only one there |
