Nigeria is one of the designated countries. That question is meant to determine whether you will go for a medical test or not.

Good day Sir, please allow me to DM you. I will appreciate if you could help review my SOP.

Second time applicant( first app; october 2019)
Reasons for previous delay:
1. Reason/purpose of traveling
2. Family tie, here and in Canada (my sponsor and his wife which is my aunt are PR holders)

Thanks in advance for your time..

Frankrobbn1:

Congratulations Owoch, its actually been a while. I can remember vividly how so many applications were held for a long period of time without a decision from London visa office as at May 2018 to August 2018. It was a very horrible experience for nairalanders during that time. It's nice to hear that you heeded to the advice given and didn't withdrew the application. We give God the glory and thus glad to be part of your Canadian TRV success story and many others. Thanks for reaching out here about the outcome of the long awaited application. I wish you the very best in Canada.

It will end in praises for everyone on this thread.

Appreciate your prompt response. Thanks

No need to create a new account. Just use the previous one and be sure to include the previous UCI number given to you in your former application. All the best.

Good afternoon guys

I am about to reapply and want to confirm if I will have to create another account on CIC or I can start another application on the previous account?

Thanks

Thanks for the clarification, appreciate.

Qudkom:

simply put;
SOP- Written as a statement of motivation to justify your reason for coming to Canada. it covers your background, education/work experience, why you chose the program/school/, why you chose Canada and you future goals. in most cases also includes a financial breakdown.

LOE(Letter of explanation)- this is written in reference to issues you want to point out to the visa officer reviewing your application. this could be in lieu of a recent refusal clause you are trying to justify or explaining a document upload or whatsoever that can be confusing to the VO. It can also be called Statement of clarification, statement of explanation etc....

Hello

Please how is SOP different from LOE? I have read through the thread and I saw a post where a member said LOE is necessary for re-application and another that said it's addressed to the VO while SOP isn't addressed. I am particular about the content of both, as they look the same to me. Please help clarify this. Thanks

Alright, thanks.
mcobex:
Don't worry about your previous denial, this is a fresh application. But make sure you declare that you have been denied visa in the past(it won't have any negative effect on your new application but if you don't declare your previous denial then you will be denier and also get a ban)
Travel / Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 16 by Crystalheart: 10:54am On Jan 21, 2020
Thank you sir.. I've checked mu, there is Msc chemistry and I have mailed them to inquire if they have that option, but I am yet to see their response. I'm checking other universities while awaiting their response...

Anon123:

The course is better.. you can Google the course and it will link you to universities that offer them.. try memorial University of newfoundland, university of Regina etc.. Google can solve that for u.

Yes they go through your last application to compare the difference or change made between the first and the new application but it will not affect your new application...
Travel / Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 16 by Crystalheart: 11:21pm On Jan 20, 2020
Alright bro. Please pardon my too many questions.. I will apply for Msc program in pharmaceutical chemistry, I don't know which institution yet..

My previous study visa application that was rejected was filed with practical nursing admission letter..

Do VOs consult previous application? If they do, could it negatively affect their judgement since my next application will be filed with Msc pharmaceutical chemistry admission letter rather than the practical nursing admission letter. Thanks..

Anon123:

You can go for a PGD but why go for that wen u have a higher grade that qualifies you for a masters..
Travel / Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 16 by Crystalheart: 10:55pm On Jan 20, 2020
Thanks, I really appreciate your input

JustMellow:

Hello Crystalheart,

As norm with the VOs, all they want to understand or see is either there is a career progression or self development in the choice program or course, which you weren't able to justify convincingly.

On the other note, it is always advisable to go for a program higher than the previous for easy connection with the VO based on study progression. Going for a Diploma after a B.sc isn't a good move except there is a justifiable reason.

You can choose to go on with the Diploma if you can justify your Diploma intention after a B.sc or you can apply for a PGD/C in any health related courses that can easily be connected to Chemistry. One advise, don't be in haste to reapply and endeavour to address the VO's concerns adequately.

All the best.
Travel / Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 16 by Crystalheart: 7:29pm On Jan 20, 2020
I have 2:1, does it mean pgd isn't advisable for me?
Once again, thanks for your prompt replies.

Anon123:

You need a course related to chemistry or like a branch of chemistry not offered in Nigeria... PGD/C is done by people which 2.2 and lower...

All schools in canada dont require IELTS as long as your transcript shows your course was taught in English. Conestoga, centennial, Algonquin, Manitoba, Humber etc. Google can show u more
Travel / Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 16 by Crystalheart: 3:07pm On Jan 20, 2020
Thanks for your prompt response, I wanted a change of field and actually checked requirements for bsc Nursing; I need prior knowledge of physiology, Anatomy and Microbiology in most of the schools I checked. So I settled for practical nursing that doesn't require much.

I did affidavit of return.

Let's say I want to do pgd please can u suggest school that doesn't require IELT? Thanks again for your time.

Anon123:

You got those two because you failed to explain

1)what are your plans after studies in canada.. that alone shows u have a reason for going for the intended course and there's a realistic plan when you return home.. u prove that by explaining in detail with anything attached to support the claim as well.. you can also do an affidavit of return..

2) how did you do chemistry in your bsc and you are going for a diploma in practical nursing? Are both related.. diploma is below a BSC.. I will encourage you to go for a PGD or masters in a course related with Chemistry..
Travel / Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 16 by Crystalheart: 1:09pm On Jan 20, 2020
Hi guys, thanks for creating this thread..

Pls I need guide on proving that I will return to Nigeria upon completion of my study and SOP (I have bsc in Chemistry and going for diploma in practical nursing). My previous application was rejected on account of those two.

I want to reapply and want to do it with guidance of experts here. Thanks.

It is obvious that our education sector is still lacking the necessities needed to be among the best in Africa not to talk of the world at large.
