Tobi Ayeni has done what no other female has done in Nigeria; Start a tech blog and succeed. Normally when you hear the term “Tech Blogger”, your mind automatically assumes that it is a guy typing on his laptop. Most female bloggers in Nigeria such as the popular Linda Ikeji or Uche of Bella Naija normally focus on the entertainment section with very few (If any) focusing exclusively on tech.

Tobi Ayeni is a self-proclaimed geek and the founder of the increasingly popular tech blog; . Founded on February 9, 2015, has grown very quickly with an Alexa rank of 70k worldwide all in the space of 12 months. That is an impressive feat that is not easily reproduced even by male tech bloggers.

Balancing a full time job and a blog is very stressful but Tobi found a way to make it work and has a successful blog to show for it. A Banking and Finance graduate from Covenant University, Nigeria, Tobi is a Digital Strategist with a strong affinity for Technology which is not a very common trait in the female demographic.

When asked about her rapid rise as Nigeria’s most popular female tech blogger, she says that her adventure has been “fun, frightening, and challenging”. She describes herself as a Tech enthusiast so creating new content for Misstechy is fun but she also reveals that the male-dominated world of tech blogging is regularly trying to test her.

Although I have not met her personally, I can tell that Tobi Ayeni is a very friendly person; a fact deduced by my time on . The way she takes time to reply her readers’ comments no matter how many there are, coupled with the fact that she regularly rewards her top commenters with various gifts shows that she is of a very impressionable character. Personally, I’d love to meet her and interview her more extensively but that is for her to decide lol. How she managed to grow her website to where it is in such a short span is still a mystery as it is not easy to rise through the ranks so easily especially when you also have a full time job holding you back.

Speaking on the rapid growth of Misstechy, Tobi on Linkedin revealed that she used various marketing strategies and was dedicated to seeing her labour produce fruit. Her writing style is very natural and informal and one would think she was discussing with a friend which is one of the reasons is so unique. She has integrated her personality into her blog which has led her readers to like her more and which drives them to keep returning for more (I know I do lol).

Manchester United fans will be the latest to protest against spiraling costs to watch live football when they travel to FC Midtjylland in the Europa League on Thursday.

Those traveling to Denmark are being charged £71 (N36,660) to attend the club’s Europa League game away at FC Midtjylland.

Fans are unhappy at being asked to pay a premium price for tickets in what they view as a second-rate European competition.

Some fans have prepared a banner with the phrases: “WELCOME TO SCAMDINAVIA”. Around 800 United fans are expected to travel to watch their expensively-assembled side play in the 11,800-capacity MCH Arena.

It highlights the fact that United fans have been charged £71 (N36,660) per ticket whereas Southampton supporters were charged just £22 (N10,120) when they played at the home of the Danish champions in the Europa League play-off round in August.

United fans are expected to sing about their annoyance at the ticket charge during the game on Thursday.

Andy Mitten, author and editor of fanzine United We Stand, claims that Midtjylland are “ripping fans off”.

Mitten said

“£71 to watch a Europa League game is extortionate,”

“The combined cost of all three tickets for Manchester United’s Champions League away games was only £75.

“Do they think United fans are three times wealthier than Southampton fans? Midtjylland are ripping fans off – their own and the 800 travelling fans.”

United have reportedly complained to UEFA on the matter when the prices were announced, but there was no reduction.

Currently, the only direct flights from Manchester to Billund, the nearest airport to the ground in Herning, are available at £321 (N147,660) return.

Given that fans will have to pay up to £100 (N46,000) to reach Herning and hotels are charging up to £320 (N147,220) for a room, a two-night trip to Denmark could cost well over £1,000 (N460,000).

Last Night, Chelsea’s Defender, Kurt Zouma,21, landed really bad and broke his right leg in the match against Manchester United which ended 1 – 1.

The defender was immediately stretchered off the pitch but injuries like this takes not less than 6 months to heal. Wish him a quick recovery.
